wikke Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Some minifigures groups would be nice, and would sell very good to I think. But I'm not so sure they will be made, and it would be better if they were sold in a single box (which would on the other hand not be as exciting as the little bags). Anyhow, here's a few groups I've been thinking of that would be great : Platoon of Soldiers (Captain, Medic, Soldiers...) Chess (White) Chess (Black) Orchestra 1 & 2 (Trumpet, Sax, Violin...) Super Heroes (Superman, Batman, Spiderman...) Film Characters (Beatrix Kiddo, Edward Scissorhands, the Terminator...) Space (Spaceman & Spacewomen) Greeck Company of Soldiers Roman Company of Soldiers Gladiators (Mirmillones, Dimachaeri, Retiarii...) Stormtroopers (Different types of Stormtroopers) Droids (Different types of Droids) Indian Village (Chief, Squah, Children...) Far West Village (Sheriff, Bartender, Local Woman...) Medieval Court (King, Queen, Courtlady...) Medieval Village (Blacksmith, Townguard, Shopseller...) Famous Warriors (Napoleon, Ramses II, El Cid...) Medieval Chinese Company of Soldiers Medieval European Company of Soldiers Medieval Japanese Company of Soldiers Viking Company of Soldiers Egyptian Company of Soldiers Highlander Company of Soldiers Future Warriors Ninjas (with different kinds of weapons) Pirates (this would be a lovely bunch) Women (to do something about the lack of women in the series) Robin Hood Gang (Little John, Robin Hood, Lady Marianne...) Monsters (Differnt kinds of monsters) Aliens (All different aliens) Gnomes (Gnomes with diffent tools) Quote

Lego Wargammer Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Maybe Lego can do a best of series in the future. revisit some of the more popular themes and do 2nd versions not a re releases. for examples, a new Zombie with all new outfit and head design, a new spartan with silver helmet instead of bronze etc. there could be a contest where fans could vote on the minifigures that come back, or they could see what the most expensive minifigure are on briklink and redo those, so that people who missed them the frist time get a chance to get them. maybe after the 10th set of collectible minifigures comes out back on the OP I really like the mohawk on the punk rocker and would love to see it used in another figure so I was thinking of a few... Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: biker, white t shirt with black jacket Type of headgear: black mohawk Type of facial expression: evil grin Color on torso/legs: blue (bluejeans) Accessory: bottle/knife/chain Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: zombie rocker/blue Type of headgear: grey mohawk Type of facial expression: confused/hungrey Color on torso/legs: grey Accessory: dog bone Gender: female Occupation/print on torso: hair stylist/ red Type of headgear: blond mohawk Type of facial expression: talking / happy Color on torso/legs: White Accessory: sissors/ mirror and anyother figure you can think of to justify more minifigures with mohawks Quote
Blackknight112 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 This isn't a minifig, but I think we really need movable short legs. I hate the short legs we have now. Quote
tafkatb Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I would really love to see more musicians, especially a marching band fig with a printed shako hat in a new color and a new instrument - maybe a trombone? Quote

Aanchir Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hi, everyone. I'm posting this here because I can't think of any better place to post it. Anyway, last weekend I went to Brickfair, and Jim Foulds was on hand for a Q&A session representing the LEGO Group. I took the opportunity to ask something that I've never before been able to confirm, that being whether a transparent minifigure was possible, given the difference in material between transparent bricks (PC) and opaque ones (ABS). Sure enough, transparent minifigures are impossible. The extra friction of polycarbonate parts would cause the arm and leg joints to snap if used for a minifigure. So a lot of people's hopes for a ghost or "invisible man" minifigure have been dashed. Note that after a later question, he did verify that minifigure heads can be made in transparent colors, as has been done in the past, but the rest of the minifigure with its many hinge points behaves differently. Now, one might argue that with a drastic redesign of the classic minifigure, a transparent one might be feasible. And I didn't ask whether this was possible (although Jim mentioned that designers had tried in the past to find ways for it to work, without success). However, I do not think we can expect transparent minifigures anytime in the near future. Quote

You would think they could at least do partially transparent minifigs like they did with the rock monsters. Just make sure the areas where friction occur are not transparent. Quote

However, an invisible man with his clothes on, a hat, and a transparent head with some bandages would be awesome. (Similar to the one in the old Universal movies). And it would probably have more potential to be detailed and expresive than a completely transparent minifig, in my opinion. Quote

If you've ever seen some of the old Mega Bloks 'Dragons' figures that were 'translucent' (not fully transparent), you'd see quite quickly the truth of the matter. Those suckers snapped limbs and hands like nobody's business. Now, I DO realize that's an example of THEM and not LEGO but, still... Quote
ButterMelon Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I don't see why a transparent figure without moveable limbs couldn't be done. Just like the original figs, with maybe a new scuplt that matches the current style a little better. 1) The torso would just have shoulder bumps tacked onto the standard torso shape that fade into the sides at the waist. 2) The legs would have the same side profile as regular legs, but be all one piece with no joints. The legs would be something like the legs used on the ink pen figures, without any holes for the impossible seated position. 3) The torso and legs should probably just have studs, instead of the posts, so you don't see them inside the part stacked on top. I can imagine that it could work out very well, depending upon how any printing was done. I think the bigest question, is how does a transparent hat/hair piece look on top of a transparent head? All of those visible surfaces could be a big distraction from the exterior shape of the fig or it's printing. It could look very busy. Another thing to consider is that any printing on one side would be visible from the back side, so that probably rules out double print heads. And torso print paterns would have to work when viewed from either side. But I can see how one side could be used to accent the patern on the reverse. Of course, it might work quite well if the parts had a frosted interior. That would solve the problems of double sided prints, and busy hair pieces. Quote

Quite frankly, I consider myself a minifigure fan (not only of CMFs), and I'm not too sure that I would like this idea. I'm not a fan of figures without movable limbs. Of course, the transparent awesomeness could overcome this... I don't think that Lego would go so far from their minifigure design for this theme though. Maybe for some other theme, like a frozen guy or something, they could make a part for this purpose. After all, it would make sense for someone frozen not to be able to move a limb. Second thought, I would consider it depending on how well the transparent guy looks. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I would really like a minifig wearing a Panama Hat, exactly like the white hat from the following picture (Lego Indiana Jones game): http://images.wikia.com/legoindianajones/images/e/e8/TroyDavids.JPG Quote
