Corvus Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Oh im so sorry but the one that I found on Apple Tv is definitely new it had the tridents breaking into the kamino facilities there kinda like those space pods the commando droids where in where the droids come out off the pod. Oh general grievous and asajj ventress are in kamino sorry about the video Actually, I think you're right. There's a sneak peak on iTunes (free) that shows some new stuff. The first minute is entirely new stuff- I think it's actually a segment (or segments) of one of the Kamino episodes. It's pretty sweet. The rest is an old trailer. The scenes with the growth tanks crashing is pretty creepy. The idea of hundreds of unborn children dying like that isn't something that you'd see in a kid's show, even implication like it is. Then again, the idea of humans being made to fight with their lives artificially accelerated is also nasty. Something they don't really seem to think about on this show... Quote

They'll probaly make it that there were no clones in there . Kiddie clones are back I like that blue clone he's pretty cool! Quote

Yeah, there's definitely some nastiness in this show. People kill and get killed all the time (it's war after all), so a bunch of unborn clones getting killed at once is not a huge change of pace. Anyway, it's a neat scene, but the particle effects are kinda cheesy. The glass splinters seem to just hang in the air rather than rain down as they should. Oh well, I guess we can't expect PIXAR quality animation on a weekly show such as this. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 According to the official Star Wars blog calendar, the first two episodes are called "Clone Cadets" and "ARC Troopers". Kind of strange names for episodes, but if they're true, I'm guessing it will be the Kamino episodes, the first one focusing on the cadets inside the facility that is under attack, and the second on those new "Phase 1.5" ARC troopers. Great news, thanks for sharing. I, for one, have been waiting for the ARC Troopers to make their appearance in the CW series. This may not be Fordo's ARC troops, but this is the closest thing yet we're going to see in the series. Probably this will be the episode which the trailers have shown an ARC captain briefing his troops. Can't wait to finally see this episode, hope it doesn't disappoint us. I also noticed, if ever this will be the first two epis (of the two-part season premiere), it's great to know their putting the spotlight once more on the clones (based on the title) and not on the usual suspect (jedi) and last season's 'stars' (bounty hunters). The show is titled Clone Wars afterall, and it's always a good thing to know more about the men in the frontlines. Quote

In the article Lanter hints at some upcoming big things in this season and beyond. http://tv.ign.com/ar.../1118032p1.html Thanks for sharing this djmangunz. Some interesting bits, most especially Anakin's growing tendencies towards the dark side. I hope to see these types of scenes more in the upcoming season. It's also good to know the physical changes that will transpire with the characters - Anakin having longer hair will mean the series nearing RoTS, and Ahsoka maturing from a skinny girl to Aayla-type(?) For sure these changes will affect the minifigs, so probably we'll get a new hairpiece for Anakin in the future. Quote
Siegfried Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Ironically, didn't a Lucas-company develop Pixar? I seem to remember they sold it to Steve Jobs, before it became a part of Disney. Yeah, they were the guys behind the Genesis effect in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Stunning work at the time. George sold them in 1986 as he was short on cash. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Its not Aayla Its Shaak Ti I was referring to the sexy body of Aayla: Transformation of Ahsoka's skinny build to a mature curvy body just like Aayla (they wear similar skimpy outfits afterall, unlike Shaak Ti who is heavily clothed). Oky Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Ahsoka + boobs = improvement. It looks like Filoni has started to give video answers to fan questions. Click here to see the first one where he is trying to rectify not showing Plo Koon without his mask. Not sure where you can submit those questions. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Anyone picked up the latest copy of Star Wars Insider? According to StarWars.com, it's got some spoilers for Season 3... Quote

Click here to see the first one where he is trying to rectify not showing Plo Koon without his mask. Not sure where you can submit those questions. Interesting. Funny how Filoni gives so much thought to this, and how serious he is on showing a detail like Plo Koon's face. Yet, they're willing to completely turn around some other EU aspect like Mandalorians, Boba Fett, and quite possibly the Nightsisters? I'd say it's probably because Filoni is a huge Plo Koon fan, so he puts a lot of work into Plo Koon's character (which is why he's one of the more awesome Jedi in the CW). Not that this is really a bad thing... I'd probably have been the same way about Mandos and Boba if I were in charge(MANDOS KILL JEDI THEYRE THE BEST!!!!11!... possibly what killed Traviss's reputation). Quote
Forresto Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 (edited) Well this whole Kamino arc is going to kill the brilliant writing she did on both the Kamionoans and the harsh brutality of Clone training. The Kaminoans freaking killed entire platoons if one soldier in it was "defective". The Kaminoans were pretty evil in the Republic Commando books and not at all sympethetic characters. I am still waiting to see the final charge of a Arc-170 squadron charging to their deaths, all singing "Vode An" in unison over their comlinks. Would be an epicemotional scene and something to really getus to care about these clones. Edited September 4, 2010 by Forresto Quote
DarthSion Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Season 3 episodes will be out one day after they air on itunes and PSN, but of course only for the US and CA, and only in SD. http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=3903 Quote

Traviss' brilliant writing flipped what little you knew about Kaminoans, Jedi and clones upside down, and still have it tie in to what was already established. I hope Filoni respects that, and either follows Traviss' idea, or barely show them at all. That would be the sweetest sceane ever. I mean Filoni has some cool stuff and nice deaths (The Trespass sceane with Rex firing pistols to defend the dieing Pantoran was cool) but he has yet to make an incredible dramtic sceane like that. I hope Filoni respects that, and either follows Traviss' idea, or barely show them at all. I wouldn't quite call it brilliant, though... that would be a disservice to the truly great sci-fi authors out there. Traviss was one of the few people to actually try to make an actually culture for a race, though, as overly-utopian as it was. Didn't she quit writing the rest of Imperial Commando because of Filoni and the TV-show? Something like that. It might have had something to do with the live-action show, too. Quote
djmangunz Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think that we all can agree that this season will be the best so far. Regarding the future of the Clone Wars, Feloni said recently that they plan on making the show as long as people keep watching it. We already know that Lucas plans to make 100 episodes which is about 5 years worth. I think that it will run for about 6 years total. Even though there is an unlimited amount of EU material to mine for stories, a cartoon on that scale has to run out of steam at some point. I think that season four will be the best with the advancements they are making with the graphics and the stories will still be fresh at that point. I also think that they will let it run for one year too long, with the stories getting redundant and stale just because they want to milk a huge cash cow for all it is worth. Quote

I think it's safe to say that interest in the current CW season will not diminish anytime soon. Even if Filoni and his team keep giving us subpar episodes in the last couple of seasons, fans are still enthusiastic and still anticipate 'what's gonna happen next?', even if most of the time they become disappointed in the end. Personally, I would like this CW series to keep running for 100 epis, then that's about the time they finally connect the storyline to RoTS, and end the series with a bang. Besides, another 2-3 years of Clone Wars just mean more SW sets for us, which is all we want after all (along with the PT/OT stuff of course). Quote
djmangunz Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you on that point. I am hoping they will keep the show going for as long as possible. I have transferred all allegiance from the OT to the Clone Wars just because I love the stories (and clones) so much. This is all just my speculation on the fact I think they will keep it going for about 6 years just because it seems hard to keep a cartoon fresh for more than half a decade. Those shows that stay around for longer than their allotted freshness (see; Simpsons, The) become hard to watch. Quote
