Cadets was pretty good, I loved ARC Troopers. The squid machines were cool, especially when they started getting destroyed. I loved the barracks, it seems like the Kaminoans really wanna conserve space. The lightsaber battles-unbelievable. So much more fluid than the ones in the past seasons. Grievous wasn't as cowardly this time, which I found awesome. The cadets popping out of the bunks was cool, as was that whole battle scene. Asajj still managed to make the cut-out part seems awesome by just pulling him onto the lightsaber. Sucks about 99 and Colt though, but 99 probably wasn't going to show up again anyway. I'm glad Filoni took some fan advice- Rookies was one of the best episodes, so of course, they add episodes just as good on it. So far, a great season.:thumbup::thumbup:

On the next episode: if they don't put up to much Jar-Jar, and focus more on the battle, I'm sure it'll be alright.

Wow. I was extremely happy when I realized that they had returned to my favorite story line...

Cadets

I loved this episode. It highlights that the Kaminonians are ruthless and heartless. I loved the insight into the training program. Surprisingly, I liked the training grounds a lot more than I thought I would. I'm a sucker for digital backgrounds that move, though. We also met 99, who I absolutely loved. He also highlighted the fact that the Kaminonians weren't perfect.

Arc Troopers

Very nice episode. I liked Commander Colt, too bad he died. But, from the beginning of the episode, I had a nagging voice in my head that two Arcs were going to die, and Echo and Fives were going to replace them. And look, I was right. They finally showed Grevious as a competent commander, who can really handle a cyborg body. Asajj was awesome, and we didn't even see Ashoka.( YAY!!)

Arc Troopers is a good example of an episode that can balance the stories of clones and Jedi's at the same time. I am going to try making that sweet new arc trooper armor in lego.

Yeah, but I don't get teletoon.

wait, where do you live? Not that I'm gonna find you or something. And couldn't you just go over to someone elses house to watch it?

I watched the 3rd season premiere last night and thought that overall it was pretty good. The animation was really nice, and Kamino as a whole was pretty cool. And heroic 99 who was probably the best part of the episodes (at least in my opinion).

Albeit even with the ramped up animation the episodes really did seem a bit to "kidized". The whole thing with Domino squad seemed rather silly. Being that so much emphasis was placed on them passing their final testing, to the point were the Shaak Ti and many of the Kaminoans fussing over them. I mean really they're supposed to be building up a large army with millions of clones, if five of them fail to meet the standards toss them into maintenance duties and move on.

And also why didn't the Separatists just destroy the clone factory? I can understand that they wanted some of the clone DNA to perform tests on, but once they realized that their attack was failing why didn't they just take the easy route and blow the factories sky high. Not that this short sightedness is a first for the series.

Looking forward to the rest of season three though assuming I can remember to watch it.

With what? They only had a couple of giant metal squids. Even if those were carrying explosives, they probably wouldn't be enough to destroy the whole factory. And as for domino squad, they are at war, so every clone counts (as we have seen in Rookies), and I'm sure it would have been a waste of resources to just cast them aside, especially if they did that with every squad that fails the first tests.

Just watched the episodes on watchtheclonewars.com if anyone if wanting them.

Two great episodes, really different from the season premiere of the last season. Most of the clones were really sad to 99 which was a shame.

BTW, I found an easter egg. When Domino was redoing their final test the variation was 11 38.

I love how they always find a way to put it in somwhere

To be exact it was variant THX 1138, referencing THX audio from the old SW movies.

THX isn't only the old Star Wars movies, it's a Lucas sound company that still exists and is going strong. THX 1138 is really referencing Lucas' first film of that name.

I found these episodes pretty good. It's really much more interesting when it's about the Clones, but they still managed to work in some Jedi action and a space battle, all in one.

Of course, I'm not sure why there are phase 1.5 troopers at this point in the timeline, but oh well, they still looked cool. Interesting also to see the introduction of ARC-170s. It's kind of hard to figure out the overall timeline in terms of the war anyway, so it doesn't really matter that there are all these different ships mixed together.

Actually the ARC-170s already appeared in Season 2,in the Zillo Beast episode if I remember right. But yeah I too noticed the mix of the different ships during the space battle - there were the Delta 7B, Y-Wings, V-19s, and ARC-170s. I wondered what happened to the Y-Wings and V-19s as they were no longer present at the Battle of Coruscant space battle in RoTS (only the ARC-170 and Eta-2 replacing the Delta 7B).

Yeah that's what i meant.

Why not, there is no official timeline for this show, they just do stories as they are, its not like its chronological.

Also if you were paying attention Grievous says "all to easy" like Vader did.

Ah yes, now that you mention it I think I do remember the ARC-160s appearing before.

As to the Battle of Coruscant, the early version Y-Wings were not conceptualized by Lucas or whoever yet, so that's why you don't see them. Y-Wings are bombers anyway, so it doesn't make that much sense to send them into a big space skirmish. And the V-19s had already been invented for the old show, but the show ended with the Battle of Coruscant without V-19s, so I guess they stuck with that.

I'm going to be obnoxisous for a second, so forgive me.

May I qoute myself?

After watching a newer trailer talking about the cinematic quality of the Clone Wars and I think I know how the squid ships .

It looks like there will be a two pronged attack with Grevous leading a gigantic fleet to distract the orbiting fleet while Ventress lands her troops by attacking from the sea in a surprise attack.

Planets are pretty large and ships are pretty small. A ship's sensors would'nt be capable of covering a whole planet let alone a fleet's. Also Kamino is storm clogged and i'm sure that creates blind spots on land sensors. Also considering that Ventresse's ship is barely a blip compared to a venator on the sensors makes it easier for one to sneak past an enemy fleet.

Look at the battle of Coruscant where they were able to sneak in and create a surprise attack on the Republic. Grievous was also able to land and kidnap the Chancellor of all people. I think that the attack on Kamino will involve Grievous engaging the fleet in orbit distracting them while Ventress lands her forces and attacks.

Was I right, or was I right  I'll stop being obnoxious now!

It's overused though. Would have been better if they used 94 or 327.

I just noticed that the numbers on the Clone Cadets' armors are same as the real-world numbers. I just wondered since the regular letters were changed in Aurebesh but the numbers weren't.

Hmm.

The original Aurebesh font uses the real-world numbers, but newAurebesh uses a dot system. However, the B1s in TPM use a curved, simplified version of the real-world numbers.

Well, I was quite happy with the new episodes. ARC Troopers was my favourite out of the two, because of the story and the characters in it. I think the Clones are the most interesting people in the series, especially poor old 99. Ofcourse, the ARCs themselves were great looking. But they were about the same as normal clones in the battles! What happened to the bad-a$$ reputation they are supposed to have and carry out? Pfft.

Cadets was alright, it was good character development, but I can't help thinking it lacked something...

I'm still waiting for an amazing battle sequence, hopefully it will come later in this season. I'm also hoping for more action from the ARCs.

Perhaps the ARC armour was originally changed to what we know as Phase I.5 from Phase I, then the rest of the Clones were upgraded to that too?

If they can get those squids onto Kamino I'm sure they could get some heavy explosives as well. A nuke doesn't really take up that much space (not saying that they have necessarily have nukes), but that the Separatists could have brought a couple of the Star Wars equivalent down and placed them onto the main supports of the facilities. As for the clones I still think they 5 out of a battalion is rather insignificant especially in the grand scheme of things, but of course you're allowed to disagree with me.

It was'nt supposed to be a full fledged invasion, only a small raid. They were trying to get the mmain source of the clone's dna to deprive them of new soldiers. However it looked like they still had enough ships at the end to keep pressing the attack.

Not unless you're a plural sheep specialest default_laugh2.gif

Ha ha. Very funny.

I liked the first two episodes, despite the many problems mentioned above.

One thing that really annoyed me was the number of similarities between Obi-Wan and Grievous' duel in 'ARC Troopers' and in ROTS:

-"doooomed"

-Grievous crawling around on all-fours and running away like that

-Obi-Wan force pushing Grievous

-Grievous swirling his sabres

-Grievous using four arms and beating up Obi-Wan a little

What's more, I didn't like how they focused on falling debris. Surely that happens in LOADS of space battles and nobody pays it any attention. We see it for the first time and all of a sudden it's a big problem. I know it was crucial to the story, but I didn't like how it was done.

Still, it's nice to get back into The Clone Wars and I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

The Proton Torpedo was defined as a nuclear weapon- back when data tapes were of the future.
