DarthSion Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 What the hell was that. I have a question, mummy?, I thought hutts were hermaphrodites and are neither male nor female. That long leg blog thing kissing Ziro was nauseating. Anyone else think that new jedi was like, what if Ronan Dex was a Jedi?. Quote
RileyC Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I finally caught up! I reckon this season has been better than the last. The political episodes havent been as boring and the episodes are giving a background to the preexsisting stories which I like. This last episode has to be one of the better ones. Quinlan Vos was the man and his team work with Obi Wan made for some funny moments. What I wasnt expecting it Ziro to die though, it was unexpected as he was kind of a major character. Also what's up with the Hutts? I really wasnt sure who's a man or woman. The fat one was funny though I sure am looking forward to the Savaage episodes! He seems badass and looks like it will bring the end to Ventress! I hate her Quote
General Magma Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 She's not going to die as she is seen later on in the EU. Remember that Lucas and Filoni could change the storyline whenever they want. Ventress either dies or escapes, but Dooku tries to get her dead because he got a new (and better) apprentice. As for the Hunt for Ziro episode, I'm kinda confused now. A female Hutt? Weren't they hermaphrodites? The fight was great, though, and they finally got rid of Ziro. ~ General Magma Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Not a bad episode by all accounts, though I'm looking far more forward to text weeks! As for the Hunt for Ziro episode, I'm kinda confused now. A female Hutt? Weren't they hermaphrodites? The fight was great, though, and they finally got rid of Ziro. ~ General Magma Well what about Gaurdila the Hutt, she's been around far longer than Ziro's mother (great character by-the-way!), so it's hardly Canon-breaking. Mama The Hutt There is also talk going around that Ventress was transformed into Opress before being given to Dooku Quote

Hutts are indeed hermaphrodites, meaning that they contain both female and male parts for reproduction. However like their earth cousin ,the slug, it still takes two members of the species to reproduce and create an egg or in this case, around 30 eggs. I'm assuming that since Ziro sounds a little like Truman Capote, who was gay, and his mom sounds like a dude that all the genders for Hutts are messed up since their really isn't any. Maybe Hutts have some cultural thing with moms and dads and even though it's maybe not the same as our concept, best translates to mom and dad. Quote

Well, I recently went to Wookieepedia and read that Mama the Hutt actually is a hermaphrodite, but Hutts do have personalities. ~ General Magma Quote
The Legonater Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I sure am looking forward to the Savaage episodes! He seems badass and looks like it will bring the end to Ventress! I hate her Ventress was great in The Clone Wars, but in Clone Wars I find her lacking greatly. Quote
Artanis I Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Ziro is dead - well, well, well... Wasn't exactly expecting that yet! Nor was I expecting Obi Wan & Vos to demonstrate their trampolining skills. (I assume it was Sy Snootles that shot Ziro?) Interesting that as the series have progressed the uh... believable sexiness of the humanoid characters is uh... becoming more so (compare it with the movie & early episodes). Exemplified in the dancing scene. Good episode I thought, the jedi were de-sabred, but Cad Bane was also de-hatted so some humiliation on both sides in a decent brief challenge. Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I also liked how the musical number was inspired by the opening club scene in IJ: Temple of Doom. It was? I noticed that straight away but thought it might just be a coincidence! "[HUTTESE] Anything goes!" Quote
Oky Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) The fat one was funny though Wouldn't that be all of them? The funniest part about Mama The Hutt is that all "Yo Mama" insults relating to her are true. Ventress was great in The Clone Wars, but in Clone Wars I find her lacking greatly. What?! I think it's exactly the other way around! But maybe it's just because everyone was cooler in the old Clone Wars. It was? I noticed that straight away but thought it might just be a coincidence! It's not a reference to that specific scene, but Chicago musical shows in general. About the length of the fight scene, I think it's actually good that it was so short. It would be unrealistic for a mere bounty hunter like Bane to be able to hold his own against two Jedi masters for a long time. Edited November 15, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote

It would be unrealistic for a mere bounty hunter like Bane to be able to hold his own against two Jedi masters for a long time. Plus he's only in it for the money, and he'd have to best both of them or it would all be a waste for him. As soon as he realised he wasn't going to beat them both, he ran. Not as a coward, because he doesn't fight for death & glory, but for money - which is only any use to him if he's alive. Grievous (were he not "a coward") Ventress or Dooku etc would be more likely to continue to engage much longer as more is at stake? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I just saw Hunt for Ziro, and I must say I really liked it a lot, it was an enjoyable episode. The song-and-dance number adds a nice touch to the series, we got to finally see Vos, and the fight seen between Obi/Vos and Bane is great IMO. I think the way Bane handled/fought those two jedi is quite impressive and just convinces me more that he is better than Babby Fett. Just look ate the way he downed both Vos and Obi, Bane really has darn good combination of "street-fighting" skills, clever gadgetry, and just cunning attitude. And BTW, I don't want to sound politically incorrect, but I always thought Ziro was, uhm, a gay Hutt (because of the way he speaks). Nor was I expecting Obi Wan & Vos to demonstrate their trampolining skills. Even if it was a bit unrealistic and unbelievable at first, I actually liked their superhuman jumping abilities. (It kinda reminds me of the Eric Bana-Incredible Hulk jumping around those mountains in the movie). I think this is a quite more acceptable jedi skill showmanship than Mace force pushing thousands of droids in the cartoon series. Quote
Artanis I Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I think this is a quite more acceptable jedi skill showmanship than Mace force pushing thousands of droids in the cartoon series. Haha yep. I didn't think it was unreasonable, just looked funny with them bouncing around like that maybe instead of trampoline I should've said pogo-stick! BOING BOING BOING Quote
General Magma Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Nor was I expecting Obi Wan & Vos to demonstrate their trampolining skills. Incase you didn't know yet, that's Force Jump. But it looked funny though. ~ General Magma Quote
CMP Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I'm not saying it was bad, I'm saying I thought it was going to be simply awesome the way the previews made it out to be. I liked the appearance of Snootles and Vos, both were great characters. The energy airboats were nice as well. Quote
The Legonater Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 What?! I think it's exactly the other way around! But maybe it's just because everyone was cooler in the old Clone Wars. Oh, you're right- I get those two names so confused . Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 http://www.wired.com/underwire/2010/11/clone-wars-ahsoka-new-look/ Interesting article, plus an explanation for Ahsoka's new costume, which does appear to be a permanent change and not a one off thing like many feared and reveals her two lightsabers, which we knew about but hadn't properly seen. Also confirms Anakin and Obi-wan will be getting costumes more inline with their Episode 3 attires. Quote

Who knows, she may turn to the dark side for some reason, and then gets killed. ~ General Magma Quote

Also I have seen Anakin's and Obi-Wan's new looks and Anakin gets his revenge of the sith hairstyle soon Quote
Artanis I Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Should've given her some mean biceps while they were at it Her legs are different too. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 New look-Ahsoka... Nice to see the outfit upgrade, even the leggings are new. She's getting 'hotter' as the series go by. Quote
CMP Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 She has the same dark clothing evolution as Anakin. Quote
JimBee Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 It's not a reference to that specific scene, but Chicago musical shows in general. No, it was definitely a reference to ToD. See the episode's "Secrets Revealed" section on StarWars.com. They're quite interesting to read. Concerning Ashoka's new look, is it just me, or are the horn-like things that she has for hair getting longer? A weird thing to notice, I know, but I always thought she was the same species as Shaak Ti, therefore should look similar as she grows older. Not liking the double lightsabers too much, though. First it was the style of how she held the lightsaber, and now it's two of them, exactly like Starkiller. Quote

And yes, she is the same species as Shaak Ti, a Togruta. Quote
