I always had a feeling when I heard Echo and Fives would be coming back that they would be brought back to be killed and so far thats been proven right with Echo (Not that I like his death anymore than you too it was just so likely he was going to die).

The reason I felt that was because no Clone in the Clone Wars Episodes has lasted more than 6 Episodes other than Rex or Cody (Ponds died in his 6th) and Fives would die on his sixth as well if he died in "Citadel Rescue"

DobbyClone seen as you asked here is everything from the guide in spoilers

Secrets Revealed

Seen several times throughout the Citadel are mouse droids, the same little boxy droids seen as messengers aboard the Death Star and Star Destroyers in the original trilogy, and on Mustafar in Episode III.

Anakin's hopping on a STAP is an echo from way back in 2008, The Clone Wars animated story.

The entire sequence where Obi-Wan and Even Piell try to sneak around the landing platform when they emerge from the ventilation duct was originally shot on top of the citadel tower. It was later moved with minimal pickups to the landing area behind the tower, on the ground.

Obi-Wan's line to Osi Sobeck, "I must say, you're not at all what I pictured. Someone with such a soft voice," is particularly ironic given that actor James Arnold Taylor voices both characters.

The monitoring devices along the walls of the Citadel seen in these three episodes are designed after similar devices seen aboard the Death Star in Episode IV.

The non-existent Separatist outpost that OOM-10 mentions as part of his bluff is Point Tarron.

To differentiate Lola Sayu's hellish conditions from the lava planet Mustafar, its molten rivers are colored a bright yellow, to suggest sulfur. Given what sulfurous deposits smell like, it's understandable Tarkin and Anakin hold their noses.

To be honest with you, I was hoping Echo would show up again. However I find it doubtful considering the blast marks on his helmet. I hope Citadel Rescue continues the trend of Republic casualties.

I bet it will start with Jar Jar and Ahsoka dying, we all cheer, then George comes on and says 'APRIL FOOLS!'

And then we cry, forever thinking of what could've been!

To be honest, Ahsoka's growing on me. She's no longer that annoying little Padawan she was in the movie and seasons 1/2. Plus, her new outfit and dual lightsabers are really awesome.

Well, I like Fives more of the two. (Don't ask.) Still, sad to see Echo go, I do hope they don't kill Fives off, however unlikely.

Here's to hoping we see the clones start wearing Phase II armour in Season 4.

Echo!

Sad to see him go but I think we all knew it would happen eventually. One of the biggest complaints against the show has been the lack of weight to it.. we know none most of the characters (except Ahsoka)can't die, so it is actually quite refreshing to have someone we actually care about die. My only real problem was how they handled it, it seemed far too quick and they moved on from it too fast. Hopefully they at least learn from this and make more episodes about the clones in the future.

I would have loved to see another episode that focuses on Echo and Fives, just with them doing random ARC trooper stuff.

I don't think that they did. For the rest of the episode, they sort of gave Five some detached-feeling body language, which worked pretty well to show how he was feeling without him taking off his helmet. This episode actually had a lot of just characters looking at each other, which was a pretty new thing to do for this show.

I like the way they did Echo's death for a number of reasons: firstly, they finally killed somebody with a larger amount of screentime, and many people had been wanting; secondly, it showed how the Clones (rightfully) don't really care that much about each other. Commander Cody does not really care about anything at all; he's a Clone, he does what he's supposed to do. You might think, how can the Clones in EpIII just turn on their Jedi that they've worked with so closely for three years? But it makes perfect sense, and the way they had Cody handle Echo's death shows it perfectly. The Clones are just apathetic, they do whatever they're supposed to do.

Actually ARC troopers are made to be more independent, and reliant on each other to make the small squads more effective. There was a squadron or ARC troopers who refused to fire on their jedi general, proving they could show attachment.

The ARCs in TCW are not made to be independent though (a shame but still).

I think killing off Echo was good, because I really felt something when he died (especially as I liked him more than FIves). I thought this episode was better than the last one, and I'm really looking forward to the next one and seeing Master Tiin in his Jedi starfighter!!

Thanks for reading,

I had no idea who died until someone yelled out "ECHO!" Most of the clones look the same to me, especially with the helmets on.

So, 2 late appearances from Saesee Tiin with no speaking part...

I too can't wait to see the clones wearing Phase II armour.

All ARCs still have to go through a training program. It's obvious that they do develop feelings, seeing as Fives yelled out "ECHO!", or when they both clutched 99 when he was shot down.

I agree that the ARCs do care for each other, but the Commanders clearly don't really care about anybody, which is good in my mind.

Hmmmm, I think cody shows some emotion, as he was an ARC before he commanded the 212. Remember in the cidatel when Cody glanced back and said 'That was hot-shot'. I'm not sure about Rex though, he seems not to care.

Delta 7B's still suck. It's time for the Eta-2 to appear - I really want some of those as sets.

Yeah I'm with you there. As much as I love these JSF triangles, I think it's about time the Eta-2s appear, and the Phase II armors too. And if they do (hopefully in Season 4), it's just a matter of time before we see these as sets.

I don't think Lucas could make a better move than to ROTS-ify the ENTIRE CW phenomenon. Everybody likes phase II troops better, the Eta-2 is a more graceful and intriguing ship, and the variety in Phase IIs would skyrocket sales for everybody. I don't know if lucas has noticed, but people like clones. They like 'em in action, and they like 'em in their lego sets. It's a win, win, win(Lucas, Consumer, Distributor ).

Everybody likes phase II troops

 Definitely not.

I hate the helmets, they're big, ugly and bulky. Phase 1 helmets are smooth & sleek. As far as minifigs go, the major noticeable difference between phase 1 & 2 clones is going to be helmets, as the armour is just going to be printed on the torso.

I think it's possible TLG will do something similar to the ARF, and re-structure their helmet completely to accommodate a clone head.
