The Best Spaceship Released By LEGO

I had many of the original Space sets but except for pure nostalgia they aren't my favorites. I really liked the Space Police 3 sets like the Galactic Enforcer and Undercover Cruiser.

This is a good question.

I really like the Deep Freeze Defender, but the Warp Wing Fighter and the Interstellar Starfighter were great sets of the UFO series. The Deep Freeze Defender was better in color scheme, but the UFO sets had better shapes.

The Explorien Starship had some nice functions and really great minifigs, but the color scheme of the Mission Commander and the Galactic Enforcer were much better.

When it comes to function, I think the Explorien Starship is the best Spaceship and then the UFO sets.

When it comes to color scheme, I think the Deep Freeze Defender was the best set, with the Galactic Enforcer on the second place followed by the Mission Commander.

For me, I would have to say 2009's Space Police Hyperspeed Pursuit (5973), of which I own two copies of that I've found at thrift stores over the years.

The thing is though, I really wish to see Lego do a retro rocketship-type spacecraft, though more akin to the rocketcraft of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon comic strips (like the example pictured below) as opposed to the warhead-like rocketcraft of 1950's science fiction. The only two examples of sci-fi rocketcraft in Lego sets I can think of are in 7315 Solar Explorer and 7690 MB-01 Eagle Command Base.

Wow, best space ship? That's a tough one. I love so many of them.

Of the older sets, I'd have to say Star Fleet Voyager is my favorite. It's super sleek and was the first Lego spaceship I had.

Of the post Classic Space sets, I love Stardefender 200. It's pure perfection.

Of the 90's space ships, the Deep Freeze Defender is just beautiful, as others have pointed out.
