xenologer Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Bought the Dragon Pod 4337 yesterday, and one of my habits is to turn Xpods into fleets of mini ships. This is the Tortoise Class Light Tanker (might be a freighter... but the cockpit design makes me think a tanker, with no crew section aside from the head) I Really Love the 'ribs' on the sides of the cargo area. Two main engines, and two auxiliary ion drives (red) to help with the variable payload mass. The extremely limited pieces in the Xpod forced me to get really clever with the SNOT construction to get an interesting shape. I think I learned a new trick or two with this one... Lol, I was just going to name it Dragon, until someone pointed out that it looked like a turtle... Quote
ApophisV Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Looks Klingon! *knight* EDIT: Oookay, I just noticed the "plate sideways between two studs" part! (The lime green 1x4 plates behind the ribs!) It took me a while to figure this out! Looks really great! *y* Quote
SuvieD Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Very nice, sort of sea turtle like. Cargo is a likely use for a ship like this. Wings denote atmospheric flight so I can see this as a short range heavy cargo mover for planets within the same galaxy. I would probably remove the teeth as they look out of place. Quote
Aredhel Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 This looks reaaally cute *wub* ! A very nice MOC! Quote

Beagle Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Wow, yeah, you really DID use the "plate between studs" well. It's not ugly at all, and actually gives it a very solid, ribbed feel. Nice job, that was a very creative use of parts and unorthodox building technique. :-) EDIT: It is still my dream to eventually build a minifig-scale Klingon warbird like that. There's so many great green and angled pieces available now I think it's finally doable. Someday, someday..... Quote
