These are just CURRENT themes..

1. Toy Story

I grew up with Toy Story and LEGOs, so it's nice to see them join forces. And there's just so much possibilities of the Toy Story theme!

--

2. City

3. PoP, Kingdoms

(These are ones that sets came out or are coming out this year)

Posted

1. Space Police, have been since around 20 years ago and the new ones are even better.

2. Atlantis, the models are really well done

3. Pirates, the massive ships are awesome

Posted

1. TECHNIC -- keeps the interest of Adult Fans of Lego (AFOLs) and is challenging to master.:thumbup:

2. MINDSTORMS -- Allows young people to program robots to prepare them for Robotics in the "Real World".

3. Model Team -- Makes it possible to recreate one's old cars and trucks in Lego bricks. :classic:

Well, in a nutshell:

1. Toy Story - I have always been a huge fan of PIXAR, and Buzz Lightyear is one of the coolest characters in the history of cartoons, so this theme is a dream come true for me!

2. Star Wars - Well, what can I say? Star Wars is awesome! Many great and creative spaceship and minifig designs, and they just keep getting better!

3. Harry Potter - I love the books and the movies, and the sets have such a nice campy feel to them, plus they come with so many useful parts and minifigs!

#1: Pirates

My favourite theme when I was a child, my favourite theme now. Pirate ships, treasure chests, sword fights, cannon battles, sharks, terrifying ninja parrots... what's not to love?

#2: Modular Buildings

Not sure if this range counts, but these are City buildings for Grown Ups. Best of all, the people have classic smily faces!

#3: Western

Sadly I missed them the first time round, and Lego don't seem to be in a hurry to revisit them. And yet in spite of not actually owning any Western sets, I still love the idea of them.

My favorite themes are:

  • Technic, because you can do things you couldn't do with normal bricks
  • Model Team, great looking and functional models
  • Mindstorms, I like to make working robots and to program them

Posted

1 - Trains, I've always been fascinated with them.

2 - Town, just goes hand in hand with the first.

3 - Pirates, off on another tangent but I love them. :-)

Posted

Technic&ModelTeam-For really endless possibilities for creating complex mechanisms and to cover all that with complex design using ModelTeam scheme.

History-It just feels great to see large castles and siege weapons in Lego

Town-I just like cars and motorcycles and unique buildings

Posted

1. Prince of Persia.

I was sucked into this theme because of the themed month. It's a good thing we had it too, otherwise, I wouldn't know how great PoP is!

2. Harry Potter

I read all of the books in about a month, found out there were Lego sets for it, and you can guess what happened then...

3. Batman

I grew up with superheroes, and Batman was always my favorite. So when they made a Lego theme of it, you can guess again what happened. This was probably the thing that really brought me back to Lego.

This is tough. I collect a lot of different themes, and I love them all. However, my current mood leads me to vote for these three:

Adventurers - Pros: Fantastic looking models, love-able minifigures, loads of accessories, unlimited playability. I fell in love with the Desert theme in 1998, and I've been hooked on every subtheme since then. Cons: Discontinued :cry_sad:

Space - Pros: When I was young, I mainly collected space sets. I've got a soft spot for space bases and ships. It's easy to use ones imagination to create different missions while swooshing a ship around. Lots of interesting pieces for building different mocs. Cons: I have unfortunately been fairly disappointed with recent offerings.

Town - Pros: There are so many different subthemes and sets to choose from. Sure there are some underwhelming sets here and there, but there are countless classics too. If you collect LEGO, building your own town or city is a must. Cons: Hard to keep up with everything

Honorable mention to Aquazone, Star Wars, Western, and Technic. I better stop now before I start naming off all the themes I like...

#1: Harry Potter

The amazing hairpieces, prints and new molds!! Harry Potter is my favorite book series, so I am thrilled to hear that they are bringing it back! :D

#2: Star Wars

As a fan of the Clone Wars TV series, I get excited to see pictures of new sets!

#3: Indiana Jones

It was between this and Prince of Persia. I love Indiana Jones, and the Lego sets are amazing.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

LEGO Studios

Prince of Persia

LEGO Adventures and Orient Express

Batman

1. Castle- One of my favorite historical themes, the knights, the castles, the fights, what's not to love? :knight:

2. Pirates- Ah the age of sail, cannon/ship battles, the islanders, and especially the forts! :pirate:

3. Space- Lets see...classic space, blacktron, space police, the ships, the massive ships, and the great play features! :alien:

If my favorite themes were defined by which I would least like to see disappear from the product line-up, it would be:

1: Technic, more specifically Technic construction vehicles.

2: City

3: Hero Factory or Castle :classic:

I forgot Creator, including the AFOL targeted Exclusive sets. The will make it into number 2 spot. City down to 3 then.

# 1: Town (including modulars & Trains)

I know, it's easy that way  , but I really couldn't rank any of these themes

# 2: Pirates

I just ordered Imperial Flagship!

# 3: (Classic) Castle

My last set (not counting MMV) dates from 1993 and I'm not so fond of the fantasy inspired Castle theme, but the new sets look promising to me :sweet:

#1-Castle/Kingdoms. It just seems so natural to build a castle out of Lego.

#2-Pirates. Who doesn't like pirates?

#3-Star Wars. Clone/Storm troopers are just plain awesome and Jedi can be fun.

Prince of Persia gets an honourable mention.
