1. Star Wars

I have loved Star Wars for my whole life and indent to keep it in my life for decades to come. The Lego Star Wars team does great work and its great that they can keep pumping out great sets every year.

2. City

Its a Lego city! Although I dont have the budget to splash out on the huge sets because my main focus is Star Wars, its always nice to get the odd set.

3. Basketball

Its hardly a widely loved theme but it had some great sets when it was a theme. Its really fun to play when I have spare time!

My favorite is not an official theme, Though I would absolutely love for it to be. Steampunk. When people cannibalize all kinds of history and technics sets to make some awesome gilded-age inspired 'Jules Vern on steroids' monstrosities. It even has it's own sub-theme, where people make Star Wars versions, like The Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter or Naboo Starfighter.

I don't have a favorite individual official theme, I just like sets that have a lot of detail and are generally fun to look at and build. There are sets in almost every theme that embody this. It doesn't matter if it's technic or PoP, Atlantis, city or space. I'm really happy with the sets that have come out in the last five years, they have really stepped up the complexity and there are some beautiful sets now that leave a lot of older sets in the dust.

TECHNIC. (specifically sets released between 1988-1996 with some recent exceptions like the crane truck from 2009)

When I look at a standard lego set I think, yeah it looks nice, but it doesn't do much, is too easy to build (which is sometime theraputic, other times boring) and holds no mysteries. Technic has always been to me the flagship theme as it's the one you build up to for the older kids. Technic has all the best challenges and therefore the best rewards.

Racers is my favorite, but the rest are in no specific order by preference. :]

Racers - Being primarily a builder of Tiny Turbos, I adore the Racers line. The price-per-part ratio is pretty good, and the parts themselves are amazing, come in rare colors and are exactly what I need in what I make. They are decidedly the best. :P

Star Wars - Because, foo'.

Technic - This man business, you know that right? ;)

Creator - Probably the best current price-per-part ratio, and the models are cool, simple and come in classic colors: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. There's just something reminiscent of classic lego sets for me. I have no idea why.

World Racers - While they're not even out yet, they look great in terms of weird-part status. I'll get some. :)
