Lordofdragonss Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Wait. Printed arms on mime? The miniminiminifig is really epic! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Amazing! Thanks for sharing the great images. Love that sombrero! Edit: oh, and I love that Roman centurion. Ahem, Spartan Hoplite. (300? This is SPARTA!!!... Anything?) Woooo Series two!!! Second Box purchase... 16 fore Bigs!!! I love the Egyptian, the Surfer and well, all of them! Quote
Holodoc Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Thank you so much for bringing this awesome new pics, grogall! Now can we have the codes as well? Quote
Shadows Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (Isn't the Mexican racist ) Its just ignorant No, it's just representing someone dressed in a way that still exists in their home country. Clearly, this figure works as a mariachi in Mexico where he thrills the tourists with his traditional garb and music. It's no more negatively stereotypical than the mime. It's more like the cowboy in that sense. Typical, even a bit stereotypical, but not negative. Had he been portrayed with pistols and representing a bandito, you might be able to make the claim of racism (though there is historical relevance to that representation as well, and these figures do sometimes go historical). That said... I love that figure and all of these. It's a great assortment, maybe even better than series 1. I hope we see more of these to come. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 AWESOME those second series are really COOL ! We still waiting for series one to hit the shops ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
michaelozzie Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 These minifigs are great. Cant wait to get my hands on the Spartan and the Surfer. I also love the Mexican Quote
Delta 38 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 A new helmet, spear, staff, minifigure-shaped trophy... I really wish these will actually come out here (somewhere other than Toyworld!). I only want a few duplicates this time, being the Spartan and three mimes (one for each face, the extra ones will still be handy). The karate guy will go perfectly with the ninjas I'm hoping to get, while the vampire and witch will fit with the zombies (which I also hope to get). Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Thank you very much for these pics, grogall! Series one was already great - but series two is simply brilliant! My favourite minifigs are the lifeguard, the surfer and the Mexican. My favourite accessory is the golden "nanofig" trophy and the tan hair of the surfer. Hopefully someone will again offer us the barcodes of all these minifigs! Btw: Can someone imagine what that purple "thing" is that the guy with the big black hair holds? Klaus-Dieter Quote
I Scream Clone Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 This is why I love official pics versus blurry pics any day. Lovely looking figures and nicely posed/drawn. Looking forward to these babies. Quote
YG-49 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Btw: Can someone imagine what that purple "thing" is that the guy with the big black hair holds? I think it's a record cover, it does say "Brick Fever." Quote
BFLV Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Just perfect, now i waiting the serie 1 release for my country Quote
Lord Arjay Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Wow. This series is better than the first! My faviorites are: The Mime (Arm Printing) and The Spartan (Side Leg Printing) Thank you so much for the pics grogall! Edited May 18, 2010 by Lord Arjay Quote
squiz Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Yeah i agree, this series does look better than the first ! The surfer and spartan are my favourites, and the skier is also great ! Quote
Rapseflaps Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Oh, man. LEGO struck gold with these minifig series. Awesomeness. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 OMG, I'm still trying to collect the first series! I genuinely think Lego may have stumbled on the best release for them in 2010! I really can see these turning into the equivilent of a sticker album for kids! The point of sale is spot on, the price is right, they have managed to get them in nearly 2 shops in every town, a Lego marketing bod has earn't his paycheque this year! Quote
Norro Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Isn't the Mexican racist ) What about the Spartan? God Bless, Nathan Quote
Raphy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Isn't the Mexican racist Of course not... it doesn't represent the Mexican in a bad way, does it? It's just rather a stereotype of a Mexican... big mustached dude with tanned skin and a sombrero. Nothing wrong with that. Neither with the Spartan. :P By the way, I counted and I spy a total of sixty-seven new parts! Woo! :D Quote
Cutty Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) I guess it's time to spare some cash for that Greek-Warrior army building project (He's not per se a spartan. He definitely lacks that iconic Lambda on the shield, which is incorrectly shaped mind you! And other greek poleis' hoplites were as likely to wear plumes and thigh protection in red as well!). The thorax (body-armour) print is fantastic and will definitely replace the C3P-O body I had used for an armour before on some figs! And I'm pumped to see, whether it fits well with that KKII Shadow Knights helmet in either colour! Can't wait! The Surf-dude's torso is also a strong candidate for multiples, although the rest of his stuff is... meh. The head perhaps but... Karateka, Britney, Witch, Pharaoh, Vampire Lord, Weightlifter, Sombrero-dude and the Mime are must-haves! Britney's hair is again a new mold, isn't it? I'll put that Adventurer/Archaeologist on hold until clearer pictures of his face are available. Same's true for Pam (the Lifeguard-girl)! I'd only get her for her face and another hair-piece. Hopefully that very hair-piece is again another colour (read: not the same one as the Cheerleader's...). Everything else is uninteresting for me in terms of the actual figures' profession (especially that highway-patrol dude...). On the other hand: Every single face-print is made of pure win! (Well, again excluding that same highway-patrol dude... ) Hooray for Greek-Warrior figs! Idea: Combine the Surf-dude's torso and Pam's legs to get male speedos! Or use Pam's legs on any FemiFig to get lingerie/underwear! God, the possibilities! Also a big Hooray for more brown legs with that Sombrero-dude! Again to update: I'm actually wondering how long it takes before some madman has assembled an actual 300 figs strong hoplite-taskforce and incorporates that into a giant battlescene-diorama using tons of PoP Hassansins (spelling?) as enemies...!!! Strong mental images start to appear Another update: The Mime's beret would make a fantastic medieval-citizen's headwear! Now if it only had a hole to add some plume... not-in-use-anymore Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Wait a second, where's the ninja fig people have been talking about?(I did write ninja instead of -Ninja- on purpose) Quote
GRogall Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Wait a second, where's the ninja fig people have been talking about?(I did write ninja instead of -Ninja- on purpose) This is the second series! the Ninja is part of the first series. Edited May 18, 2010 by grogall Quote
Dunjohn Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Thanks for the pics! I see some differences between these and the preliminary pics we had a while ago. The weightlifter's equipment has changed. The old version had what looked like two 2x2 round jumper plates that would have been very useful. My priorities this time are the Pharaoh, the pop star and the Hoplite. Who's the Diver of this set - the one nobody really wants? The Highway Patrolman? Quote
BrickPerfection Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I love the Spartan! The surfer and some other figs are great as well, but I think i might be building a little Spartan army Yeah, you're right it's a very sucessful line making me spending money that I haven't planned to invest in Legos. Quote

LEGO is smart to release PoP and the Greek in the same year. Quote

But as interests are different in kids, maybe the Mime won't get that much love either! Nice to find another people who got this idea. Too bad, that just a dream for me to make such battlescene. Maybe spartan shield formation Vs swarm of Persian? LEGO is smart to release PoP and the Greek in the same year. Hehe, I myself have no real interest in creating such a diorama. I just wondered, knowing some strange people go above and beyond in hoarding rare figures, how long it would take before pictures of said diorama would appear. Edited May 18, 2010 by Cutty Quote
