Fugazi Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 We are really spoiled, this new series looks really good! They improved the female/male ratio a bit too, now we have 3 out of 16 instead of 2. Although the witch minifig is not really one I look forward to. Judging from Series 1, I don't suppose any minifigs of Series 2 will have back printing? Some would definitely benefit from it. I have lifeguard Pam in mind, her swimming suit will look awkward with a plain red back. Quote
Big Cam Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Sweet and crap. 16 more figs doubles the large price I was already looking to spend. But dang, alot of fun ones. The pharroh, the roman guy, that mexican hat is awesome. I guess that's 2 boxes I need to buy now. Quote
GRogall Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Yeah! Definitely the highway-patrol dude... But as interests are different in kids, maybe the Mime won't get that much love either! I don't know? Kind of like the Mime printed arms, Three expressions and all my favorite is probably , Spartan, King Tut, Mime, Vamp, Ringmaster, Witch, Judo Man, Mexican, Donny & Marie, Bay Watch babe, Surfer dude, and the rest just to complete the set! Quote
Dunjohn Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 The Mime is probably the Crash Test Dummy of Series 2: The one most people don't mind getting one of, but that's a little too odd to be really appealing. Quote
Cpt. Dan Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 This may be a dumb question but where will/is Series 1 and 2 being distributed in the US? I gotta find the cowboy robin hood and spartan haha. Quote
Johnny Lazarus Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Oh my god, these are gorgeous!! They're so much better than the first series. In this case, I'd love to own ALL of them. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Excellent, simply excellent. This whole series, this whole idea, is just oozing with FUN. I can't see this not going well into 2011 with as many as six or more waves. How could it not?? Quote
vexorian Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) I actually wish this series had some sci-fi element. The real stuff that will make me buy series 1 are the robot and the spaceman. As for this series, I wouldn't mind buying 3 or 4 bags but I don't really have much interest in a specific fig. Of course not... it doesn't represent the Mexican in a bad way, does it? It's just rather a stereotype of a Mexican... big mustached dude with tanned skin and a sombrero. Nothing wrong with that. Neither with the Spartan. :PBy the way, I counted and I spy a total of sixty-seven new parts! Woo! :D I think the stereotype is in calling this fig the Mexican, whereas I bet LEGO will call it the Salsa Musician or something like that. Imagine if we would start calling the Karate Master the Japanese :) Edited May 18, 2010 by vexorian Quote
yumiyoshi Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Uhuhuhu the spartan! Uhuhuh the mime! Uhuhuhuh the maracas chico! Crossing my fingers and toes: who knows, maybe I'll see them in a shop even here! *___* Quote
General Armendariz Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 The Mexican with the pancho is all mine! Quote
BlueBard Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 These are gonna be even better than series 1! Can't wait, really! Quote
Routemaster Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I'll buy them all again! My favs are the Mime, the Mexican, Vampire, the Spartan and the guy with the black clown's hair piece. Looks like a comedian from TV, Atze Schröder. Does anyone know if there are more series in progress? I think for most of us it's time to ask. We need replenishment after Series 2. Quote
Calanon Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I am literally drooling over all these new minifigures... oh TLG I hate you... my pockets will be empty soon enough with all these great things coming out. Quote
RoryoCox Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 These are great. Finally a way to get a cheap Pharoah Much better than Series 1, Thanks for the Pictures. Quote
Euvor Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Might the Spartan have a dark red cape, or is it only the render? Compared to the lifeguard's swimsuit it looks darker than normal. Quote
Cutty Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Might the Spartan have a dark red cape, or is it only the render? Compared to the lifeguard's swimsuit it looks darker than normal. I had a strong impression it might be dark-red as well! Hopefully it is NOT only the rendered image playing tricks on us! More cape colours are always a welcome addition. (Although I still have no purpose for those two yellow capes I got from those Robin minifigs...) Quote
Aredhel Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Amaaaazing ones... Those look really really cool :D Quote
Lycanthrope Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Gah, this is not fair... I want them all. Not to mention series 1. Quote
Ratshot Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 That adventure guys torso will make a great Canadian Militia uniform Thanks for these great pics Quote
Joey Lock Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Finally! A Sombrero! Huzzah! My old title finally will come true! EDIT: Hey, Anyone notice a resemblence between the "Elvis" and "Tony Angelino" from Only Fools and Horses? "Cwying, Cwying, Cwying for you!" Edited May 18, 2010 by Joey Lock Quote
Rapseflaps Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Hmyeah. Although I personally thought he had more of a resemblance to Disco Stu. Quote
Oky Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Wow!So many new accessories! Yeah! In fact, I think I'm more excited for the accessories than the figs themselves this time. The miniminiminifig is really epic! Indeed! It will be very useful for decorating any minifig homes and offices, and for making Academy Awards MOCs (or any kind of awards). Same's true for Pam (the Lifeguard-girl)! I'd only get her for her face and another hair-piece. Hopefully that very hair-piece is again another colour (read: not the same one as the Cheerleader's...). It actually might be. On the package cover pics, it looks tan, but on the line-up pic it looks yellow. Maybe it's the same color as Elsa's hair piece. I'm actually wondering how long it takes before some madman has assembled an actual 300 figs strong hoplite-taskforce and incorporates that into a giant battlescene-diorama using tons of PoP Hassansins (spelling?) as enemies...!!! Strong mental images start to appear Hassansins? Why not Persian guards? Then again, seeing how Persians were portrayed in that movie, troll minifigs would probably be the best choice. But yeah, I would totally like to see that too! The Mime's beret would make a fantastic medieval-citizen's headwear! Now if it only had a hole to add some plume... I'm sure that with some care, such a hole can easily be drilled. Although the witch minifig is not really one I look forward to. Same here, but then again, I can't resist the possibility of making a Green Army Woman! Judging from Series 1, I don't suppose any minifigs of Series 2 will have back printing? Some would definitely benefit from it. I have lifeguard Pam in mind, her swimming suit will look awkward with a plain red back. True, true... I don't know? Kind of like the Mime printed arms, Three expressions and all Yeah, I love the mime for his hat and different expressions! Great for brickfilming! And I bet his arms would go great on a City prisoner. Excellent, simply excellent. This whole series, this whole idea, is just oozing with FUN. I can't see this not going well into 2011 with as many as six or more waves. How could it not?? Agreed! Plus it gives the kids something actually useful to collect instead of that Yu Gi Oh crap. I actually wish this series had some sci-fi element. The real stuff that will make me buy series 1 are the robot and the spaceman. Ditto. For example, as someone suggested a while ago, it would be great to get some Greys in minifig form, just like this: Oh well, maybe in the next wave. Looks like a comedian from TV, Atze Schröder. LOL! True, but I think the head with the red glasses from Robo Attack would be better suited for him. Quote
Capt. Thomas Foolery Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Wow! Thanks for the pics. Very excited about this series - much moreso than the one already coming to the states in a few short weeks. Although, to be quite honest, I REALLY, REALLY don't like that LEGO wastes the opportunity to have 16 stellar new minifigs by always including a couple throw-aways that very few people want as various versions already exist. You know who I'm talking about. I'm looking at you scuba diver and spaceman (although the ray gun is nice) in series 1 (possibly even ninja - even though I like ninjas, I already have several - and cowboy). And the celebration of mediocrity that is the Adventurers series rip-off explorer/butterfly catcher (?) and police officer in series 2. I suppose in some way, it brings balance. When you have something as new and awesome as the Spartan or zombie, you have to offset it with something, well...kinda lame. I just wish every minifig brought maybe not the same level of excitement, but at least a significant level of excitement - no matter which one you open. I'm already dreading all the crash test dummies, scuba divers, and spacemen I'm going to be invariably getting. PS - I am totally loving the new minifig headgear coming our way. A beret! A freaking sombrero! Decorated, no less! A Spartan helmet! Now I wish they'd just come out with a nice Derby/bowler hat. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I am absolutely in love with all these new minifigures and their accessories. They are really adding so much to the Lego minifigure world all at once. It is like getting an entire decade's worth of new figures in rapid order. I want them all now! Quote
The Cobra Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I totally agree with those who say that the second wave is even better than the first one. Me too! I mean, series 1 ain't bad, this is just better! Quote
