airsoftg36c Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I would, but I'm not interested in paying shipping from China. Megastore's gearbox...It's cheaper, but I dunno...It seems a little TOO cheap if you know what I mean... So that one, or this one? ASGI's gearbox Quote

airsoftg36c Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Yeah, thats what everyone on my airsoft forums says. I have $24 towards it! Quote
FlyBoy Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Yeah, thats what everyone on my airsoft forums says. I have $24 towards it! Airsoft -like any hobby- is a money pit. You keep thinking "Ok, I have enough kit. No more." Then something cool comes along. 3 of my guns I haven't even fielded lol. Quote
airsoftg36c Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Actually, I'm just going to make mine into an MP5a4/j with a flashlight handguard(I would LOOOOOVE a swordfish kit tho.....) and just run with that and my Desert Eagle. Quote

That works. I didn't use my MP5 much and ended up selling it, but it was great for quick, mobile games. I have my P90 for that type of play but I miss the MP5 mags. P90 mags are a pain. What kind of holster do you use for the eagle? I need to get one for my USP but haven't found a decent type yet. Quote
airsoftg36c Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I don't have the Desert Eagle yet. The guy is a soldier in Japan(where Green Gas is illegal) and he hasn't been able to ship it yet because of the tsunami. I'm seriously contemplating selling my MP5 and buying a G36/M4 variant. I also like the Ak stuff too. Something like a RS AK-74 rail would be awesome! Quote
Kenny Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 My friends and I still play once in a while. We were on a pretty tight budget so we did spring guns only. I currently have a UTG multi shot shotgun as well as the UTG 887 Shotgun. Both of them work very good in our league. Quote

V3 mechbox > V2 in every way.. and the gun is easy to work on. Only issue I've seen with the '36's is that there really are only 2 or 3 companies that make a decent body (ARES [formerly STAR], Classic Army, and maybe SRC Gen III. not sure if their bodies are ABS or nylon). Quote
airsoftg36c Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Most bodies now days are either metal or ABS. You'd be hard pressed to find a nylon body, but I agree with you V3>V2. Quote

FlyBoy Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Most bodies now days are either metal or ABS. You'd be hard pressed to find a nylon body, but I agree with you V3>V2. No G36 body is metal, on account of the real one being composite (like the SCAR's lower, P90, FN2000, etc.). The G36 is the only airsoft gun I've seen made with a nylon or fibre body. Consequently ARES and CA (both glass-reinforced fibre or nylon composite) have the best G36 bodies. WAY more sturdy than ABS, far stronger too. Like you said though most are ABS. I'm not a fan of ABS bodies, especially for bigger guns. The amount of flex in something like a TM G3-SG1 is nuts. Edited April 19, 2011 by FlyBoy Quote

airsoftg36c Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Yeah, I used Lego baseplates as the background. So sue me. Siegfried Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Sigfried: Are we supposed to have a limited amount of posts in the OT section, or do you just want us spreading our posts around a little better? We want most topics and discussion to be about LEGO. It's even in the guidelines, and has been in them from the start. Posting, spam and off topic topics: Off topic posts can be great fun between friends, but they do run the risk of making a topic unreadable to other members. We ask you to try to stick to the thread topic. In most cases we are happy to leave this to your judgment, but we will step in if we feel you have gone too far. Posting in "old" topics is generally frowned on, but it's a complicated topic. Read here for more details on this. Remember: Eurobricks is a LEGO fan site, thus we want most topics here to be LEGO related. If you find you are posting mostly non-LEGO topics then maybe you have picked the wrong site. (Just to clarify, M%g^ Bl&ks aren't LEGO....) To be blunt you're borderline, but FlyBoy... It's just odd to me that someone has about 75% of their total posts in a topic that's so off topic it hurts. For this reason I've been considering closing this topic; for the most part it's been a conversation between you and him anyway and it's bumping down topics that more members are interested in. Yeah, I used Lego baseplates as the background. So sue me. Well at least it leaves some LEGO aspect to this topic. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 Nice set up. Once i get some bills paid off i'm planing on getting an AR15. How's the shot gun working for ya? Always been curious how affective these are in the field. Thanks. The shotgun is good (around 300 fps with .2g I think) If you are serious about airsoft, I recommend an automatic, but if you just want to mess around, this shotgun is good because it works well and it was under $50 USD. If you can, do whatever you can to spread the word about airsoft. People need to know what airsoft actually is, that it isn't harmful, and that we DON'T need multi-colored guns. I'm gonna write an article for my local newspaper, and try to host some sort of airsoft awareness event in my local park. If this passes, this is what we will be taking to our airsoft fields: Edited May 4, 2011 by airsoftg36c Quote
KisKatona Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Okay, so who here airsofts? What gun do you have? I'm getting a G and G GR16 Carbine, it's a desert tan M4A1. I'm also getting a RDS with it along with a grip. Katona Quote
Clone OPatra Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 KisKatona, I merged your thread with the already existing one. Just for the future, when you are thinking about a topic that you know others are also probably interested in, try doing a search. It doesn't work one hundred percent of the time, but you can often easily turn something up. Quote

Bad motor, can't pull anything stronger than the stock spring, non heat treated gears, horrible wiring and I can go on and on about it. However, for the price, they have some of the best externals on the market (Again, that's for the price) You would be much safer off going with a JG, Echo-1 or CYMA replica. Hammerstein NWC Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I have lots of airsoft stuff, I've played since about 99. Here in Guernsey we play in an old German Underground Bunker called the Mirus it's one bunker that formed a part of a battery here in Guernsey. My island was occuppied by German Forces during World War II (the only part of the British Isles to be controlled by Nazi Germany). Because of this most people using specialised CQB rigs with torches and tracers as standard. I have a tokyo Marui G3SAS with full metal rail, Silencer (it looks nice but does nothing) and a ris mounted Gladius torch (they don't let me use the strobe setttings) As a back up I have an upgraded customised TM shotty with adjustable stock, and a high capa 5.1 side arm. Other stuff in my collection are GBB pistols (custom desert eagle with torch, ris rail and tracer unit) plus a set of sundry things I've accumulated over the last 10 or so years. Beretta, Gloc, Bolt action rifle, shorty shotty, elec mp7 and various other bits and bobs. this is me playing at 450+ a side game in 2004. I never wear military camo as I don't believe in taking things too seriously. No-one ever seems to confuse me with a gun nut wearing this stuff... Quote
airsoftg36c Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Aagh! Leopard camo! lol Want that TM G3. May I ask what all is in the DE? What's the base? That shotty is also extremely sexy. ;) Quote
