I am trying to use LDD manager but whenever I try to open it it comes up with an error message saying: Error: 3073 - Operation must use an updateable query. Can anyone help me fix this please.

It would be useful if you provide a bit more data, such as Microsoft Office Version (and if it's 32 or 64 bit), Windows version, LDD manager version etc.

I am using Microsoft Access Runtime 2010 32 bit. Its Windows Vista 7 and LDD manager version 1.2.5

Well, a quick google search on your error gave me this page.

Are you sure you have both read and write privileges from the place you're running it? Try placing it in a folder such as "My Documents" and try it again (if you haven't already).

Btw, do you have Windows Vista or Windows 7? Vista 7 doesn't exist

Hmm, that's quite strange...

If you have admin rights on your pc, try running it as administrator (right click on the file and choose "Run as administrator").

But I doubt it will solve the problem, since you should have read and write acces in the my documents anyway...

If you're really desperate, you could try to install the free Microsoft Acces runtime 2013 (make sure you choose 32 bit!) and see if it works then, but you can also wait if Superkalle (program author) has anything to say about it.

It's a tricky error, and I don't know what the problem is to be honest. My guess is that there is something wrong with the permission/rights on your machine. I Googled on it, and found one person who had put the database in a non-trusted area, but I read you allready tried that.

Anyway, my proposal would be to

1) Re-install the Access 2010 runtime 32-bit

2) Download a fresh copy of LDD Manager

3) Unzip the fresh copy directly to an "open" folder, such as My Documents

4) Run it both by double clicking the mdb-file and the vbs file (test both, one at a time).

You can find a free tool called AddPath that is a small exe that you place in the same folder as the database. By double-clicking on AppPath.exe the folder with subfolders will be added to the trusted locations list. See: Trusted Locations

I don't know if someone could help me with this but since that LDD is no more. Does someone where i can buy seperate pieces and bricks for my moc?

I designed it on LDD and I really wanted to build the actual model. Bricklink seems complex and not so thrustworthy (correct me if i'm wrong

First of, let me correct you at a point: LDD does exist, the DesignByMe service has stopped

There aren't really any other places to buy your bricks, except Bricklink. The site may look very outdated and unintuitive (which it is), but the new staff is working at Bricklink 3.0 which should be a huge update to its current outdated look.

First time users may have a lot of problems with Bricklink because of this unintuitive and complex layout, but I would recommend to google a bit, and use the software Brickficiency (you can find the topic somewhere here in the forum) to make an automatic search of where to buy your parts.

Bricklink is very thrustworty though (of course, there will always a few scam users, but they are removed as fast as possible) and you can also look at a store's customer feedback.

And if you have any more questions, you can always ask them

Having a little trouble getting my LDD file to open in the LDD Manager.

My design was made with LDD 4.3.8 (Brick version 1264) on Windows 8 x64.

I have Access 2010 x86 edition installed and have added the LDD Manager folder to the Trust Center.

LDD Manager opens fine and I choose Import and Review Model, then choose import LDD model.

These errors then show up:

Error in UnzipFiles sub: Method 'NameSpace' of object 'IShellDispatch6' failed

then

Error 53: The file C:\ship.lxf is not a LXF-file

Is the file you are opening perhaps a LXFML?

To make sure it's a LXF, open the file you have problem with in LDD, then use "save as" and save it to make to save it as LXF-file.

The try again to import it into LDD Manager.

Yeah the file is definetly an LXF, did a few more save as to be sure and still the same error.

Lego Digital Designer just got a new patch. Does LDD Manager still work on that new version?

Yes it does, but not the new bricks, only the old ones. I'm working on an update though.

Either I'm not doing this right or the software has a bug in it, but it seems impossible to create my own model group.

That will be the last time I try to use Microsoft OneDrive to share anything in an online forum. I uploaded the images to good old Brickshelf and changed the URLs. If the images still aren't visible, I'll just attach them directly to the post.

You need to add the Model Group first. What you are trying to do is to enter a Model-name. That won't work.

So....

1) Add a model-group (use the button on the right...Add/Edit model-group)

2) Once that is done, use the drop-down list to select it.

3) Done

You can now use the modelgroup in various places in LDD Manager.

I noticed that in order to add a model group, I had to press the "Page Down" key in the form to create a new record. Then I was able to enter the data for the new model group. Nevertheless, it worked. Thank you, Superkalle.

Found an error in LDD manager that converts the Universal joint 3L 61903 to Universal joint 4L 9244 from your lxf model.

Could someone confirm ?
