Superkalle Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 yess i see that is protected... in the nex version you can make a report of the pieces list for the model, so i can stamp it :).... thast is a agood idea? Yes, it's a good idea. I will think about it. Perhaps with small pictures to show brick and color for easy recognition. And with a checkbox so you can tick-off that you picked the bricks? Quote

DawnTreader Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Hello Superkalle I have 2 questions for you, first is there a new version on the way? Second, could you add a feature for the next version? I would like a way to load a model and then take all the pieces and reverse them. For instance, in order to make my LEGO city work together better am trying to get my 60047-1: Police Station to match up with the 60004-1: Fire Station. The garages are opposite each other when I put them facing each other. So I thought it would be great if I could load the model in LDD Manager and tell it to horizontally flip all the parts but keep the station design exactly the same. Then the garages of both the fire station and the police station garages would be able to both hit the "4277477: Lego-Tf,32X32 Crossing" properly. Do you think that is a do able feature? I think that for the police station it would fine, but if you were to try and flip something with left hand and right hand parts, for example wings that are not symetrical "4143180: Left Wing 6X12", then you would have to cross reference the right hand part to replace it with the left hand one. Basically I figure if there was a way to calculate the coordinates and "reverse" them you should be able to reverse the model. It would sure be nice if there was a way to do that without having to do it manually. DawnTreader Quote
Superkalle Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 Hi DawnTreader As for the first question, I'm kind of bogged down with work all kinds of activities and work at the moment. I'll do my best to get an update out. As for the second question, I did make a first attempt at such feature last year, but it turned out to be tricky. The thing is that the LXF-files only contain the brick center-point position and rotation matrix, i.e. not the geometries themselves, so to know how to mirror a model, one needs to know the center point and symmetry line(s) of the individual bricks. Besides that, you also need a lookup table for all bricks that exist in a left/right version. Nothing not doable, but it was just a bit too much for me Quote
DawnTreader Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 If someone were to make you a table of the left and right versions would that help somewhat? :) Quote
Superkalle Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 If someone were to make you a table of the left and right versions would that help somewhat? :) Thanks for asking, but not really unfortunately. The table of right/left versions is the easier part. It's the algorithms that is the hard part (for me at least). Quote
manton_90 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Superkalle, i keep getting the error 3073 and shuts down when i press on ok. op system is windows 7 home premium can you help ? thanks mate sorry when i press ok it them comes up with ERROR: database file is Read-Olny. you need to make sure that the file LDD manager.mdb is not read only to run this software.... how do i fix this hahah Quote
manton_90 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 i have no tried it on both of my computers. same error both times, my desktop is running windows xp and my laptop it running windows 7 home premium Quote
Superkalle Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 This seems to be an issue of placing the MDB-file in a folder that is not read-only, or that the file itself is read-only. Have you tried to right click the MDB-file > Properties > and check if it's read-only? Sorry, I'm not sure I can help you any more then that since this seems to be more an operating system error then a LDD Manager error. Quote
peedeejay Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hi Superkalle, since it is my first post into this thread I would like to send a big thank you to you for providing this awesome tool to the community! My question which I haven't seen anywhere in this thread: I understand that the current version of LDD Manager only supports parts up until brickset 1264. The latest version of LDD has the brickset 1564.2 so I receive a warning when importing an .LXF file. Is there a way to see which parts could not be loaded? Reason I am asking is, that I want to create a BL Wanted List from LDD Manager, however my current model has 1853 pieces in LDD but only 1836 appear in LDD manager. It's very time consuming using the generated parts list from LDD and compare it with the generated Wanted List in BL. Any help appreciated. :) Quote

peedeejay Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Thanks for the offer. I managed to create my wanted list using BrickUtils. I'll use that in the meantime while eagerly awaiting your update. :) Quote
Theodoric Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hello all. I'm a total noob to this forum! Sadly, I'd like to use LDD Manager but I'm on a Mac. I'd love to export a parts list to load into the Bricklink wanted list. If I asked one of you kind people with a PC to export such a list for some of those cool Jon Hall planes could you do so? Thanks! Quote

axonrus Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Question. I too am new here and just recently installed LDD Manager. When I check the checkbox next to Show Brick Thumbnails, I get a pop-up window asking me to Select Data Source. Did I miss something in the install? I dont think I can do the thumbnails until I resolve this. Thanks. Quote

Does LDD Manager work apart from the Thumbnails, i.e. can you import a LXF-file and see all the parts? (I assume so, but just have to ask to be sure) Quote
Kierna Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Does anyone know a good place to download Microsoft Access, and which version works best? I'm using windows 8.1 Quote
Calabar Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The link to download the access runtime necessary to run LDD Manager is in the first post of this topic. Otherwise you need to buy a license of a MS Office suite containing Access. Quote
Kierna Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 thank you sorry I didn't read some posts first Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Is there a chance to see LDD MAnager updated with the latest bricks set? Quote
Kalais Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 HI, I need some help with LDD Manager. I would like to make LDD file with 5k loose pieces I got on Rebricable. It is obvious I don't want to put them 1by1 into tables. I tried copy paste different formats etc. but it never recognize single part. Is there any way I can auto fill it into LDD Manager? P.S. I can export Rebricable data to those formats: Export to Rebrickable (CSV) (include set parts)Export to BrickLink (XML) (include set parts) Export to BrickStore (BSX) (include set parts) Export to Peeron (TSV) (include set parts) Export to HTML Table (include set parts) Export to HTML Grid (include set parts) Quote

rex81371 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Must say I was trilled to give this a try. Got everything downloaded, Followed all the instructions. Even went back and made sure I did everything right. But now every time I try and import a design I get a error message. Error 52 saying the file is not a LXF file. I went back and check to make sure all my designs are saved as lxf files and of course they all are. So I am lost trying to figure this out. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks Quote

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks I don't know what this can be. The only problem could be if the LXF-file is for some reason saved as a text-file (i.e. a LXFML-file saved with LXF-extension). To make sure this isn't the case, open one of your LXF-files in LDD and then chose "Save-as" and save it as LXF with a new name. This will make sure it's saved as a "true" LXF, (i.e. a zipped LXFML). The try to open it in LDD Manager. If that doesn't work, send me the file, and I'll have a look at it (mail address is in the help-file). Please note though that LDD Manager hasn't been updated for a while, so some bricks may not be properly mapped to BrickLink. I may release an update if there will be an update to LDD in the future.
