The Crazy One Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Great piece there. Very well made, captures the scene perfectly. Quote
KimT Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Awesome work as usual - a little late to comment, but I've been out of town the past few days Thanks for once more sharing your work with us ACPin I've taken the liberty of putting this piece on the frontpage. Keep up the good work. Quote
BrickPerfection Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Strange I missed this one so far, but: it's lovely! I love the use of all those tiles and you did a good job in capturing the overall feel of that scene! However the Bongo itslef is just from a set though.. and studs are showning up... Quote
gotoAndLego Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Amazing scene, I even like those duck-like things! (does SW even have ducks? ) Yeah but they're called Womp-Ducks. :D Quote
The Legonater Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Duh! To earn your mark, let's see if you can spot an error in the pic! On it- give me a day to rewatch the movie . The real trick- getting a good image when I only have The Phantom Menace on VHS... Quote
ACPin Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Doh! It seems my guess was only off by one or two scenes! Oh well. Great work again, ACPin! Loving the detail on those buildings and the overall smoothness of it! It's one of those dioramas where I feel a great urge to bust out some minifigs and recreate my favorite scenes from the movies and Battlefront II in it. However, I do have to agree with the others that the Bongo (which wasn't a very good set to begin with) looks quite ugly in this beautiful scenery. It was honorable of you to leave it unmodified, but it just doesn't work visually. Now make another MOC! Another! ANOTHER! That's why I said close! Enough said about the Bongo as I won't do an MOC of it just to reshoot the scene. I created a monster! Be patient youngling cause there's no new MOC this week but I've got something planned for next month. Great piece there. Very well made, captures the scene perfectly. Awesome work as usual - a little late to comment, but I've been out of town the past few days Thanks for once more sharing your work with us ACPin I've taken the liberty of putting this piece on the frontpage. Keep up the good work. No need to apologize and thanks for the FP. Strange I missed this one so far, but: it's lovely! I love the use of all those tiles and you did a good job in capturing the overall feel of that scene! However the Bongo itslef is just from a set though.. and studs are showning up... Probably because you spend more time at the Pirates theme than SW. So be sure to drop by every now and then. Yeah but they're called Womp-Ducks. :D Oh, you're another one in the bunch! On it- give me a day to rewatch the movie .The real trick- getting a good image when I only have The Phantom Menace on VHS... No need to watch the movie, just need to view the pic in detail for the error that I missed. AC Quote
The Legonater Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 No need to watch the movie, just need to view the pic in detail for the error that I missed. But I haven't seen the movie in soo long... how will I know what I don't remember? Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 OK so it is funny how sometimes the name of a MOC just doesn't seem appealing and so you skip looking at it...Well darn was I surprised when I opened this incredible MOC. This thing is awesome. Great buildings and color and detail. The ship is fantastic and the river is huge...well the whole thing is huge really. Anyway fantastic job! Quote
Legoman Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Very Nice MOC you've got here! I absolutely love it. I'm not a fan of Lego's Bongo, which really lets it down, but what you've done here looks great, keep it up! Quote
ACPin Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 But I haven't seen the movie in soo long... how will I know what I don't remember? Suit yourself and be mindful of the darkside. Great buildings and color and detail. The ship is fantastic and the river is huge...well the whole thing is huge really. Anyway fantastic job! Unfortunately in the the SW universe, there are a lot of unappealing titles for scenes like this which don't mean squat unless you're really into it. Glad you clicked on and enjoyed it. Wow looks superb! Great job! Very Nice MOC you've got here!I absolutely love it. I'm not a fan of Lego's Bongo, which really lets it down, but what you've done here looks great, keep it up! Thanks and enough said about the Bongo. AC Quote
Legoman Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Thanks and enough said about the Bongo.AC Sorry. I didn't see the other comments that you are obviously already aware of it . Great job, once again Quote
Delta 38 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Amazing. Lots of detail in the structure, too, like the decorative sand gear and droid bodies. Quote
The Legonater Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Hold on- I was just about to put it in and I realised- there was a second speeder in that shot, wasn't there? Quote
ACPin Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 Sorry. I didn't see the other comments that you are obviously already aware of it . Great job, once again No problem at all. Amazing. Lots of detail in the structure, too, like the decorative sand gear and droid bodies. Thanks that you also noticed those. Hold on- I was just about to put it in and I realised- there was a second speeder in that shot, wasn't there? Not, it's much more subtle than that. AC Quote
The Legonater Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Not, it's much more subtle than that. Liar . I'll keep looking. Quote
tkf Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Although on the movie we couldn't see how the building looks. (We see only other side) But the buildings looks like an example of naboo architecture, so it is great. And what interesting use of gear part. Quote
ACPin Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Liar . I'll keep looking. They've already gotten past that speeder in the scene. What you're looking for is actually in the pic that you posted! Although on the movie we couldn't see how the building looks. (We see only other side) But the buildings looks like an example of naboo architecture, so it is great. And what interesting use of gear part. Yes, the buildings are not exactly the same buildings in those pics but they were done following the same theme. AC Quote
theshadowknows Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Wow! Great job. I am in awe. Looks like you look some parts from Hogwarts castle? Quote
ACPin Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 Wow! Great job. I am in awe. Looks like you look some parts from Hogwarts castle? Yes, most of the sand green bricks came from various HP sets and also from PoP sets. AC Quote
The Legonater Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 They've already gotten past that speeder in the scene. What you're looking for is actually in the pic that you posted! What, the fish type- thing just right of Qui-Gon's head? For the record, it's not on the Bongo, right? Quote
ACPin Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 What, the fish type- thing just right of Qui-Gon's head? For the record, it's not on the Bongo, right? Wrong! Yes, it is! AC Quote
The Legonater Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Well that explains it. Seeing as you didn't MOD it, there's a lot f stuff that's wrong, there's no grating, the cockpits are there, there's nt nearly enough detail... Quote

Seeing as you didn't MOD it, there's a lot f stuff that's wrong, there's no grating, the cockpits are there, there's nt nearly enough detail... I'll spare you the prolonged agony as the error is in the placement of the minifigs in the sub. Obi drives the Bongo not Qui-Gonn as you see in the pic that you provided. Better luck next time.
