Posted May 21, 201014 yr The BT3 Condor draws its inspiration from the Mars Mission Recon Dropship. Operated by two figures, has a ramped storage compartment behind the cockpit, movable wings, movable rear thrusters, and the ability to carry large amounts of cargo. hope you like it Comments and feedback appreciated! adam
May 21, 201014 yr AWESOME just AWESOME 'slacker int' ! Fantastic in BLACK, love the weapons and overall shape too ! I'm a conformist! 'slacker int' I'm a conformist! !
May 22, 201014 yr The cockpits fantastic and fits the body of the ship very well. It's a design i hope to use in the future. I do wish you included a small mech , tank , or container to be carried by it , possibly a recon vehicle to add playability. good work
May 22, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the kind words everyone, glad you like it! @ black rabbit and apollo I have a few designs made up in LDD for a cargo container, a troop carrying compartment, and a little vehicle, but can't seem to find enough pieces to get something made I'm happy with, and don't want to put in a bricklink order at the moment... so for now unfortunately there is nothing for it to carry. (I'll keep trying to get something together though)
May 22, 201014 yr The cockpit on that thing is so menacing and well done. I love it. I really like the playability it has also.
May 22, 201014 yr Gorgeous. Nice sleek, wasp-like styling. This is exactly the sort of thing we should get if TLG decide to revive Blacktron. Great job!
May 23, 201014 yr This is beautiful! The tail is smooth, the colors are perfect, and the use of those UFO cockpit is stellar! Great Job ~Insectoid Aristocrat
May 23, 201014 yr Impressive MOC, perfect splashes of colour across the model. The cockpit is perfect. And I love your heavy weapon specialist. Well photographed as well.
May 23, 201014 yr Tis proof Blacktron can still work in our present day. I can see alot of kids (and others) buying this thing if LEGO brought it out. The MX-71 never looked better. Edited May 23, 201014 yr by Spacefan
May 24, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the positive comments everyone! There are a few more pics of it on my flickr stream if you want a closer look. I loved the black/trans neon green colour scheme of Blacktron 2 as a kid and have been wanting to incorporate those ufo pieces for a while... I set out to design something that TLG could have believably produced and knew the design of the MX-71 would look great in those BT2 colours and so the Condor was born. Forgot to mention, This was also my first time trying out custom decals. I printed a slightly modified BT3 logo on the wings that I came up with. thanks MicroM for the kind words about my heavy weapon specialist! Here's hoping for a blacktron revival! May 24, 201014 yr Wow, what a beautiful moc, the detail is amazing, and the use of the saucer sections is just brilliant! *I may have to try that sometime* Nice work mate, and keep bricking!
May 24, 201014 yr Here's hoping for a blacktron revival! worked for me ! After seeing this moc i decided to look up blacktron on ebay and bought an aerial intruder !!
May 27, 201014 yr I wonder how it would look with BT I color sheme(instead of trans neon green and white to yellow/tr.yellow), but nontheless its amazing in all views;from unique canopy(cockpit) to sleek body and great rear thrusters. Its loading ramp(behind cockpit) reminds me on slave zero from Star wars. I just hope that TLG bring back the blacktrons (preferable in black/yellow, but if not possible then they should be at least tr. neon green as this one), with better sets that Sp3(which is dissapoinment in my eyes), a bit longer production(not just year or two, for god sake where can we get money to buy all sets from one theme in one year lifespan?) and classic "space feel". Keep bricking and bring us MORE blacktrons
May 27, 201014 yr Author Thanks everyone! It's great to see so much interest in blacktron... for those of you that try your hand at blacktron mocs make sure you post them for us to see! I wonder how it would look with BT I color sheme(instead of trans neon green and white to yellow/tr.yellow) That was actually something I had in the works on LDD before I went with the BT2 colours. However I only have a limited selection of trans yellow cockpit or glass pieces so I decided to go with the BT2 trans neon green to try and make use of those saucers. Here is what the Neo Blacktron version was going to look like. (and possibly still might pending another bricklink order) adam
May 27, 201014 yr I really like this! It is even better than the TLG version because yours don't have the technic holes along the fuselage. The lines on this ship is great. I also love the seating arrangement in the cockpit, kind of a like an Apache helicopter, which I was a big fan of as a child. BTW, your current version is definately better than the old version with the hexagonal cockpit. Look forward to seeing more of your fleet!
May 29, 201014 yr Oooo me likey black and yellow . Even black and yellow one looks terrific, but its the canopy of current one that defines the MOC. To bad, that TLG doesnt reintroduce "OLD" colors (tr. green, tr. red, tr. yellow) in "modern" parts(well, those canopys are still "youger" than BT I sets). And i guess there are many fans of BT and BT2 and they would be more than happy to see those parts in their favorite colors.
