Posted May 22, 201014 yr Introducing a Classic Castle + Kingdoms creation. This is a restoration of the Classic Castle set 383 Knights Joust with elements/figs from the new Kingdoms and Castle subthemes.
May 22, 201014 yr Very cool. It must be the home turf of classic castle. The colors of the Kingdoms knight really look out of place compared to the classic setting.
May 22, 201014 yr Cute! Thanks to these pics, I am loving the figs more and more - it's a shame the sets are a little lacklustre. What a great idea to update classic designs with today's beautiful figs The Crowny livery does look out of place (I assume that's what Hornbricker means). Red and blue are both such strong colours - I can see why the designers chose dark green as a contrast. Thanks for sharing TB!
May 22, 201014 yr Good one 'The Brickster' - the colours do seem to clash, but still it would be a good joust though ! I'm a conformist! !
May 23, 201014 yr Wouldn't it be cool to have a classic 383 jousting knight (the blue one with the classic light grey helmet + red flip-up visor for instance) compete against the newest faction (with the newest helmet) i.e. combining 1979 classic castle with the newest 2010 style castle figs?
May 23, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the comments fellas. So you think the colors on the Crownies clash with those in the classic set? I didn't think they were that bad, but it sounds like a few of you agree. Maybe I'll have to rebuild with some new colors. I had thought about using different colors but I was trying to keep the main set as close to the original as I could. I must add that I love the new Kingdoms' knights.

Now that would be cool

It certainly would have a nice touch showing how minifigs have evolved over the years! I'm not sure, but possibly the differences might be too big to look like a "realistic" battle scene, but t doesn't have to! Great idea, and I'm quite curious now how it could look!

May 24, 201014 yr Um... The Kingdoms knight is red and white, the Castle one is blue. I think he refers to blue vs dark blue and yellow vs metallic gold contrasts. However, for me it looks just fine. Different shades of blue look good together.
May 25, 201014 yr Author Here's our new Kingdoms Red Knight with the red knight from the old Yellow Castle: He is on a new horse because I didn't feel like looking for the old brick-built pieces. Oh, and I think this is the knight you guys mentioned you wanted to see for a comparison:
May 25, 201014 yr Like I said, cool. The colours clash on the crown knight as many have said, but it still looks good. It's interesting to see the similarities between the Kingdoms knight and the Yellow Castle knight... close facial patterns with a close shield and a similar plume.
May 25, 201014 yr Oh, and I think this is the knight you guys mentioned you wanted to see for a comparison: From this it can really be seen how much the designs of the minifigs have evolved during the years.
May 30, 201014 yr That's an absolutely amazing MOCset, TheBrickster! I really it! The combination of the Classic Castle set with the new minifigs and horses fits very well and looks brilliant! Very, very well done! I really hope that TLG will offer us a big knights' tournament set as an Exclusive next year (with tents, horses, many minifigs and many accessory). Wouldn't that be brilliant?! And it would open the chance to only release about three smaller Kingdoms sets and therefore introduce a new Western theme. May 31, 201014 yr This is brilliant work TheBrickster! Now if that were a set I would pick it up in a heart beat. Excellent photo-editing as well.
