legitimatealex Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 3 points for number 7 pedro's karaban - The Sand - Cloud City. Clearly the best.
JimBee Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Some really creative entries... I can't decide! Dunjohn: 1 point pedro: 1 point MrTools: 1 point And a few entries that also stood out to me: bricknave's Scorpion Sweeper (very creative, would've never thought converting PM to PoP possible). Fatyankee's Single-Drum Roller Fugazi's Persian Grocer (huge entry!) lisgr's Fight for the Golden Tower (I love the bird in place of the robot glider) Swiss Army Droid's Persian Armoured Chariot (another really creative one, that makes a lot of sense, too).
Dunjohn Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm gonna spread the points here a bit: 1 point to lisgr's Golden Tower 1 point to -GZ-'s Persian Traveller 1 point to bricknave's Scorpion Sweeper The golden tower is just fantastic; not only is the Roc damned pretty by itself, but it's a perfect replacement for the craft in the Exo-Force original. It would have gotten two points from me but I had to spare a point for the Traveller: A lovely reworking of an already cute little set. And Scorpion Sweeper, apart from my impulse towards Power Miner solidarity, is an absolutely hilarious reworking of the real set. The best bit was the emergency horse. I really loved these contests, thanks everyone!
Spyder Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Wow, great entries everyone, but these two really stood out: 2 points- MrTools 1 point- pedro
Mr palmtree Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 3 points for lisgr's Fight for the Golden Tower For good photography and presentation. The tower rocks and the roc is very cool.
Bricknave Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 1 Point to Dunjohn's Cameltraz --It is a funny take on a 2010 Power Miners set, plus it has the same functions. 1 Point to Fatyankee's Single-Drum Roller --I like the use of the 6L Bars as posts to hold up the tent. 1 Point to Fugazi's Persian Grocer --Its design is wonderfully brilliant. Good luck, and play well!
castlestrike666 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Again some really nice creations. However, from some I do not really see the link with existing sets. So I mostly based my judgement on the similarity/looks of an existing set and on the realism. MrTool: 2 points Fugazi: 1 Point But, great job to everyone! Too bad I couldn't find the time to participate
lego-maniac Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 1 point for number 17. lisgr's Fight for the Golden Tower 1 point for number 16. Fugazi's Persian Grocer 1 point for number 18. Swiss Army Droid's Persian Armoured Chariot (the first persian version I recognize imediatly )
t20a1h5u23 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 2 points fugazi 1 point -GZ- I'm not sure if he used any Pop pieces, but the donkey in -GZ-'s is great!
Capt. Stabbin Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 1 Point- greg3's Persian Post Station 2 Points- MrTools' Modular Market Square Good luck everybody!
Fugazi Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Very difficult choice, great entries by all! But the two (entries!) that really got me excited from the start are: (2 points) Dunjohn's Cameltraz: wonderful idea and very well adapted, lots of humor! (1 point) Sandy's Hippogrif Palace: beautiful colours, part selection and photography, I would buy this as a set anytime!
RoryoCox Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 All the entries are good but three stood put- 1 Point- Sandy's Hippogrif Palace 1 Point- JimButcher's Hassassin's Arsenal 1 Point- MrTools' Modular Market Square
BrickPerfection Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 2 points for 7. pedro's Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City; just loving the bridge and gate! 1 point for 10. MrTools' Modular Market Square; I quite like modular sets and this one does well in capturing the theme flair!
Eigrim Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 1 point - pedro's Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City 1 point - Fugazi's Persian Grocer 1 point - JimButcher's Hassassin's Arsenal
def Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Here's what stood out to me: greg3's Persian Post Station is a great idea, well executed. pedro's Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City - great vignettes! MrTools' Modular Market Square deftly recreates a favorite of my Pirate sets. Sandy's Hippogrif Palace is amazing, though perhaps a bit over the top. A lot of these builds, I couldn't see an original set in, so that disqualified them in my mind. 1 point - Pedro 1 point - MrTools 1 point - Sandy
Sir E Fullner Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I enjoy samuraiturtle's Imperial Guards the most. I'm voting for it.
LegoDad42 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Fun category! Again, my hats off to all the builders! 1 point - Fugazi Persian Grocer (color scheme and the interiors details look so great and love the playability) 1 point - Brickzone Camouflaged Den (love the hidden cave and a set I'd buy) 1 point - Pedro's Karaban The Sand Cloud City (love the layout and details)
