Jameson42 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Another building finished in time for BrickWorld! I can't wait to see what people think of this one. Built in Cafe Corner style. I've been tossing this idea around for a few months, ever since getting a slew of reptile heads in a LEGO Jambalaya. Perfect for bankers, don't you think? Staff picture: Full set on Flickr Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 A great looking building again. I love the way the stone facade tries to hide that it just a square building. How are you going to transport all the buildings to BrickWorld? Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 It's not fees or interest rates which bite it's.........the staff ! AWESOME MOC 'Jameson42' - any interior ? Excellent outside clock mount too ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
greg3 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I really like the entranceway with the columns and the date and the use of plates to give a brick pattern effect but I feel it's missing something... maybe another floor with windows or something? The bankers made me smile!! Nice work!! Quote

It's not fees or interest rates which bite it's.........the staff ! AWESOME MOC 'Jameson42' - any interior ? Excellent outside clock mount too ! I'm a conformist! ! No interior yet. Like many of my buildings, I just haven't had the motivation to yet. The bankers made me smile!! Nice work!! I like the lizards! Thanks. My girlfriend hates them because she thinks they're too creepy. My response to that is, "That's the whole point!" Quote
Scorpio Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I like the way you finished this building off. Looking forward to seeing it and your others at Brickworld. Quote
BlueBard Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Simply gorgeous! All the work with those plates in the facade is impressive, just as the techniques around the entrance And of course the "croc" civilians is a funny and original idea Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Boxes in my car. It's only about an hour drive for me. You lucky bastard. I need to fly. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Ok man, I live in new orleans, but I have never heard of lego jambalaya and for this i am ashamed. Is it good with lego tabasco? no but seriously, explain this wonderful thing. if it got you so many killer croc heads it is obviously something i wanna know about. the bank architecture rocks. plates make better bricks than bricks, and that blows my mind. the windows are great, the clock is great. I love the way the pillars are flush with the wall. A+ model. Quote

I love the way the pillars are flush with the wall. A+ model. LEGO Jambalaya is something someone on Flickr started. One person fills a gallon bag with spare LEGO parts. He sends it to someone else, who takes what they'd like and adds enough to fill the bag again. They send it to another person, and so on. Eventually the original person gets the bag back. The jambalaya I was in had 12 or 13 people. Took forever for the bag to get mailed around between us, but it was worthwhile. Quote
hhcBrick Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 An imposing structure! It looks like an old, established, reputable bank... and then we find out it is run by the lizard men! Perhaps you have explained the economic crisis... Quote
NewRight Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 The organization of the tiles really makes the entire building appear to be made of brick. I think I'm in love with this. Quote
