ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Just do you know, Mercenary's entry is 16x16 Quote
Big Cam Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Just do you know, Mercenary's entry is 16x16 haha, I'm sure KimT can see that, but I think for it to be a VALID entry, the poster needs to identify which catebory he/she is entering. Kim please feel free to delete this if you didn't want posts in here. Quote
KimT Posted June 5, 2010 Author Posted June 5, 2010 Entry index has been updated with RepublicForces, mookage and Mercenary entries. I've left a comment for each of you. Best of luck. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 The only limitations are as stated in the rules. No clone parts. 3 categorial sizes to enter in. Must be Star Wars themed. ...So this means no CLONE wars???? lol, I'm a little new to this, still learning some of the terms, but if im right, this mean no Meg@#l*X?!!! ...aka Lego brand only? (Im fine with that!) oh, and, -May the Force build with you! Quote

(Im fine with that!) oh, and, -May the Force build with you! Clone Wars is Star Wars... And yes no clone brands means no clone brands. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Clone Wars is Star Wars... I think he was joking. Quote
Legoman Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Well, I think I've finished my Small entry. But I'm going to hold off posting it for a while yet, so that A) I have time to critisize it myself, to try get it perfect, and B) so that It's not at the bottom of the forum lists by the time of Voting Now, what should I do for the 32x32... Quote
Cloney Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I'm guessing you cant add an existing lego vehicle on lets say...a baseplate and make a scene with it with other buildings and ideas? Quote
KimT Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Just wondering- doubting, but wondring- can we use offical TLG models in these? All entries will be commented as they are posted. These comments will include how to turn the entry around, if it's facing disqualification. As said and described in the rules. And no you can't use official models - that would be against the idea of this being a MOC contest, wouldn't it? I'm guessing you cant add an existing lego vehicle on lets say...a baseplate and make a scene with it with other buildings and ideas? Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Just wondering, what polybags do you have? Quote

ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 ??? I mean for prizes, you said that there were polybags somewhere..... Quote
KimT Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 ??? I mean for prizes, you said that there were polybags somewhere..... And? Epic Scenes ContestWhat are the prizes? Well there's at least on EB stormie up for each category's winner. And we'll dig in and see what we can find for 2nd and 3rd place. We've got quite a stash of polybags and stuff like that lined up. Plus the main thing is to be able to say "I won" We promise prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all three categories. Only 1st prize winners will also win the "Star Wars Contest Winner"-tag. Check the EB Stormie here In time we'll announce the prizes. Why the rush? Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Ahh, nevermind Well, I think I've finished my Small entry. But I'm going to hold off posting it for a while yet, so that A) I have time to critisize it myself, to try get it perfect, and B) so that It's not at the bottom of the forum lists by the time of Voting Now, what should I do for the 32x32... Yes, young padawan, but have you considered that the first entries are often the ones who get the most attention? Quote
KimT Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Yes, young padawan, but have you considered that the first entries are often the ones who get the most attention? Indeed, but that doesn't neccesarily result in the most votes. At least it hasn't been that way in the past contests we've had. Quote
Legoman Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Yes, young padawan, but have you considered that the first entries are often the ones who get the most attention? Well, 'Master' , Where do you get that Idea? I have not seen any logical reasoning behind that... Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) By limited how much? What if I were to say make some sort of landing platform (Kamino, Bespin etc) that would be raised above the baseplate by a pillar. Could you over hang the baseplate with the platform? If that makes sense? Edited June 7, 2010 by Skipper 24 Quote

Could you over hang the baseplate with the platform? If that makes sense? No it doesn't If you were to have a little overhang, then it's no issue at all. But too much overhang would enhance the vig size too much and thus vioulate the rule of building on a 16x16, 32x32 or 48x48 baseplate. It all depends on what exactly you're doing. A few studs of branches or stuff like that wont piss me off, if that's what you're asking? Quote

Oky Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Any chance we could get an extension on the deadline? A week would be great, but I'd settle for a couple of days. I'd love to enter, but that stupid vacation is getting in the way. Quote

I'd love to enter, but that stupid vacation is getting in the way. Vacation? What vacation? If there is a dire need for more time, then I'll talk it over with the rest of the Star Wars team and then the rest of the staff. Isn't a month enough? Do you guys really need to eat, sleep and work? Wait! Does this mean you dare live 'real' lives? Scary! Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Do you think I should post WIP pics? I mean, it's not like I would change much based on feedback, I'd just like to share my ideas and makes sure no one gets to them first! Quote

I mean, it's not like I would change much based on feedback, I'd just like to share my ideas and makes sure no one gets to them first! I don't see why not. Several others have done that in the past and benefitted quite well from feedback and comments before the deadline. Quote
