josykay Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) Hello, My name is Josy (my real name is a secret) I am a 21 years old girl form the beautiful state Hessia in Germany. I have much Lego which is mostly Lego City, especially the classical Octan-serie and the older Shell gas station, a little bit Lego Space (Ice Planet) and of course my favorite series: Castle and Pirates including Firebreathing Fortess and the one and only BSB. At the age of 10 my interest in Lego faded and it remained unplayed in several boxes. I think, the interest maybe faded, because I did not like the newer designs of the Pirates (RBR and spanish soldiers) and the Castle series (especialy those very ugly strange looking Fright Knights with ridiculous bat-wing helmets and stuff like that senseless windship. When Knights Kingdom I was released, which included the "Bull-Knights", who have very ugly faces and those strange "shooting-things" my interests became completly crushed But now, after a long time I finished school, going to university my interests in Lego awakened when my parents were at a sailing trip. I began to rebuild my keeps and ships and looked at new catalogs to see, what Lego releases now. After seeing the new Pirate and Castle ahm.. Kingdom Serie (I did not like the Fantasy Castle serie because after the LotR movies the plot became common and boring, although the minifigs are much better than Baties, KK I and KK II) I fell in love with the new Lego sets and now I am back, to collect the new knights and pirates (and maybe some classical knights). That´s all folks. I hope I will have much fun at this forum. Well, I do not hope... I know that I will have much fun, because Lego fans are allways nice people :-) Greetings: Josy Edited June 1, 2010 by josykay Quote

josykay Posted June 1, 2010 Author Posted June 1, 2010 (edited) Well, first at all the ending of the raltionship to my boyfriend brought me back to lego. I felt very lonely and the times were just boring. After discovering my Legoboxes in the cellar and rebuilding Firebreathing Fortress I realized, that building Lego is much of fun. Even at the age of twenty. How ever, first I just wanted du rebuild my old sets but there are many reasons why I decided tu purchase the new Lego sets. Knights: The most important aspect at the Kingdom-Theme are simply those fantastic new bucket helmets. They are amazing, aren´t they? The whole design of the new sets seem to be a revivial of the classic knights: The times of the stereotyped plot "good vs evil" is gone. Again there are now two human factions at war just like in the Crusaders vs Black Hawks plot. Sure, one faction looks darker, but they are not evil in general, thy are just antagonists of the theme. The crest of the red and the green faction as well look like real crests, that could have been used in the "real world" (In my opinion the crests of the Bullknights, Royal Knights and King Leos Knights just did not look like real crests. They were very childish.), there are no Orcs, Trolls, Dwarfs anymore, the classical weapons like that "small halberd" returned and last but not least there are no stupid "shooting things", that was released first in KK I). I have to admit, that the crownie minifigs are very nice und perhaps I will buy some sets to add an other castle faction. Especialy that Castle Tic Tac Toe is very nice for an armybuilder: Sure, it contains 5 same minifigs, but heavy armored knights, armed with a great sword are fantastic bodyguards for the King All in all the reason for buying new Knight-sets are the new helmets and going to the roots. Pirates: After 10 years without a single pirate release (If I am right the legend sets were not released in german shops) they are finally back. And they look fantastic. The classic pirate minifigs are really good, but all in all they look a little bit like a clone army. Now we got pirates with many different torsos, green! caps, new faces and a printed back. But not only the minifigs are nice. The whole design of the 2009 pirate serie looks like a remake of the fantastic classical pirates. But even they are just copys, they are good copys. All in all the return of my favorite Themes in their old glory brought me back and convinced me to buy them. @Commodore Hornbricker Sadly many parts of my sets are missing... there are no sets, that are complete... so some boxes were not completely rebuildable. If you guys want to get a index about all my sets, I can give it to you. PS: Can I get new made stickers form older Lego sets just like 1592 Townsquare? Edited June 2, 2010 by josykay Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 That would be cool. You can pretty much get any old parts, etc. From bricklink. Quote
Milan Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Breaking up with my girlfriend one month ago, also brought me back to Lego MOCing full time (beside my job). I was very lonely, too. It was cold for motorcycles and my friends couldn't help me as much as Lego had. Anyway, Welcome. Glad to have new member! Quote
Rick Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Welcome to Eurobricks. Nice to have another Town (and Pirates) fan here. You might want to check this out. Quote

Holodoc Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Hello,My name is Josy (my real name is a secret) I am a 21 years old girl form the beautiful state Hessia in Germany. hey there, another hessian, isn't that great! Hessia... i wont comment this Ha - I will! Erbarmen - zu spät... (you know how this continues ) Very nice story you have told us. I can imagine - it's the best time to play with Lego and Lego wasted it in their Dark Ages with KK and Jack Stone and stuff like that. Nevertheless, good to see you found your way back on the track! Welcome to EB - enjoy your time. And feel free to ask about anything that is unclear. Quote
