ApophisV Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Now now, that would be cheating! ;) NO!!! That would be the only way NOT to cheat!!! I'd open 2 times door number one at december 1st... Where's the problem? ;) Quote
David85 Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 The advent calendar is now 25% off at Lego owned stores in the US, you may want to check to see if the same deal is on in other countries. They are selling like crazy. Why are they on sale the week after I go to the store? Still to much, it should be $10, there are only 370ish pieces. Quote

And here is the real kicker, today when I went into work I noticed that the 25% off sign was gone and they are now full price again. We are selling around 200 a night. I guess they were more popular than expected. Quote

KimT Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 1o USD.....now that's just plain cheap. In Denmark the price is 180 DKr which is nearly 30USD and we don't get much discount from shop at home (read NONE).....It's so unfair that LEGO is nearly 50% cheaper in the US. I bought the calendar last year and it's a joy having a new LEGO set everyday until christmas. My mom bought it for me and found it quite peculiar shopping a LEGO calendar for her 27 yrs old son. But then again she did give me a Bionicle set for easter... :) Quote

Lego seems to be really good at this game Yeah, the thing that really gets me is that all of our sales are on a day-by-day basis. It makes it very hard when a customer wants to know how long the sale is going to last. Sometimes it is one day, some times it is two weeks. We really never know. Quote
David85 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Speaking of Christmas.. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... First snowfall today, about an inch on the ground. Which is funny because it wasn't suppose to stick to the ground because it was going to be too warm, and it was going to be rain too, but nope, wrong again. Quote
ApophisV Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Same here... I think I'll start decorating my flat this weekend.... :D Quote
jonfett Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 We haven't had any signs of christmas.. no snow or ice.. just cold wind and rain. But is should come soon I hope. I don't seem to be in that christmas mood yet, maybe I will be after my brithday (8 days!) ;) Jon. Quote
David85 Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 We were supposed to get rin all day yesterday, then 1-2 inches of snow over night. They then changed it to "What we have is what we are getting", and what's this I wake up and there is more snow! So glad these idoits are right. :| Quote
jonfett Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 You'd think with all these big machines and satellites they would be able to be a bit more accurate when they tell us the weather. Instead we get the opposite... it will be very sunny --> it rains alot :/ Jon. Quote
David85 Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 The weather guy was wrong and he dared just said "We were pretty correct with yesterday afternoons forcast". No he wasn't! 1-3 for me became 3-5, and no one was suppose to get over 5 inches, but Worster to outside Boston got 5-8 inches. They are wrong and lie to us after they get it wrong! Kind of like what lego does. See back on topic. :) Quote
Luigi Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 "First snowfall today," How lucky you are, snow .. Quote
Orlego Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 What is snow??? We know it is winter here in Florida when it gets into the 50's. We have to drive out of the state just to see a little snow. Quote
ApophisV Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 :oo You're talking about Fahrenheit, right? 50 Quote
jonfett Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Usually for us christmas weather is disappointing. It gets very cold and windy but not cold enough for snow so we are just cold and there is no fun in it. But, hopefully this winter will be a little more colder... it has not snowed on christmas day for years :/ Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Oh poor Jon..... I'l think of you while walking through 20cm snow on christmas.... :P Actually at my parents town there was already snow (like 4 or 5cm) for several days a week ago.... THAT is even unusal for the "Voreifel" (20km from here...) Quote
