Milan Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I am making few Logo stickers for my MOC... And they should be in a proper (like in Real Life) Lego YELLOW and BLACK color. Black is not a problem, but Yellow is. I tried to manually create some Yellow, but when I print it it looks very non-Yellow. SO, can I use this picture from the EB Tutorial, manually select the Yellow color with the PICK COLOR tool in some graphic program and use that Yellow as proper Lego color. I mean when I print it, is that Yellow color be like the real life Lego Color? Thanks! Quote

In your graphic software you can input the exact colour composition (RGB or CMYK) from a Lego colour chart such as this one: http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/colorguide.cgi But in the end it's always a trial and error process, as your printer may or may not reproduce the colour accurately. It probably even depends on the type of paper/label you are printing on. So you really have to test print and compare with a real brick. But the RGB or CMYK colour chart is a good place to start! brickzone Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I agree that you'll need to use trial and error. If you have problems figuring out in what direction the colour you have printed is wrong (too bright, too dark, too green, too red, too grey) I recommend getting someone who's got an eye for colour to help you. For anyone who does, it is pretty easy to quickly narrow down how the colour needs adjusted on-screen after printing just one or two times. Of course the other thing is that probably you don't need an *absolutely* perfect match - after all, even before recent colour issues, Lego bricks (especially of different kinds of plastic or in yellow) don't always match absolutely perfectly. So it only needs to be good enough! Make sure to *save* the "correct" colour once you get it. This will probably remain accurate enough for your own set-up. You can even save it manually by writing down on paper the exact Red, Green and Blue values for the colour (between 0-255 for each). Next time you need the colour you can then just type in the values! Quote
Milan Posted June 1, 2010 Author Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks guys! You really helped me! In fact I am just back from the Printing office, with a A3 size full of Logo stickers The Yellow color is almost perfect, I used the RGB values from the Peeron. You will see the stickers in the Technic forum in a few days.... Thanks again. Quote
