masterchief5611 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Okay my cousins' b-day is comin up and he wanted the UCS Death Star 2, so I have 2 two questions: 1)How heavy is it when it is completed 2)Is it hard to make for a 11 year-old. Thank you. -darek p.s. His name is Tom. :-D
Deinonychus Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 It weighs roughly 10 pounds and as far as difficulty, an 11 year old could handle it I suppose. As far as the average attention-span of 11 year olds these days...I kinda doubt it
masterchief5611 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 What pieces is the stand made of? and How many pieces is the stand made of? p.s.Deinoychus read my sig.
Deinonychus Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 The world now shudders at the prospect of a mini-Me The stand is actually part of the central support axis that runs up poles of the battle station and connects to the horizontal support beams that radiate out to the equator. It's a variety of these Technic type beams http://www.bricklink.com/PL/32278.gif I'm not sure how many pieces it is in total, but not as many as you'd think...and I personally don't think it's strong enough. As it is, the whole thing leans to the right quite a bit and probably in another 6 months or so I'm going to tear the whole center support structure apart and rebuild it just so the weight-stress wont warp the pieces.
