Rook Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Objective: Redesign an existing SWU Lego set. So I picked this set: Set # 7255: General Grievous Chase 2005 Reference Link And this is what I came up with: Title: The Wheel Bike Reborn Gallery Quote
KimT Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Wow, that's an extremely well done redesign of that set: This is my favorite shot. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Very well done, Rook. Looks much better than the original. Do the legs fold up so that the wheel can roll? Quote
Fallenangel Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 A beautiful rendition of a vehicle which appeared only briefly in the movies, and of course a great improvement over LEGO's version. Grievous with Exo-Force limbs are also a nice touch. Good job with Boga as well. Are there any other sets you intend to redesign? Quote
funkybrick Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Truly very well done! I especially like your rendition of Grevious' Wheelbike. Great job, Rook! Quote
Ras 74 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 That is an awesome redesign of the WheelBike Rook. I never really liked the official one too much with the big printed transclear radar dishes. Is it in scale of the "real" one? Quote
The Legonater Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Nice work! This (and the rest of the Obi vs. Grevious sequence) was my favorite in the movie. Iwas dissapoitned with the TLG version, I found it never really did justice to the scene, and could have been a lot better. This is fantastic. I really like the claws on the wheelbike. Keep it up! lightningtiger Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 AWESOME 'Rook' - I really like it, actually looks better than the original set from Lego themselves ! Keep up the cool work and I'm a conformist! 'Rook' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Corvus Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Beautiful. What I find most amazing is that you managed to make it so close to MF scale, and the teeth detail on the wheel is superb. Quote
prateek Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Wow. I would pay 2x what the actual set cost for this! Quote
halomaster96 Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 That looks so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the way they should have done it in the first place! Quote
Rook Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) Slightly over scale, I believe, but I got as close as I could with this design. There’s other ways to make the wheel smaller but then the legs would probably be too weak to make it very playable. Very well done, Rook. Looks much better than the original.Do the legs fold up so that the wheel can roll? Not exactly the way they do in the movie. But they do fold up enough to get to roll if desied. Darth Yogi Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 looks amazing and so much better than the original set and more like the real thing great work Quote
Legoman Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Wow, this is incredible! You've definately captured the Wheelbike very well, far better than TLC ever did. Awesome job Quote
Minxter Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Wow this is really great! Could you show a photo with the legs up please. Minxter Quote
Big Cam Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I agree with everyone else that the bike is awesome, but I like your changes toto Boga, the legs are thinner and look more accurate. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Fantastic job on the Wheelbike 'Rook'! Much much better than the official set. I also like how you modified the Boga and Grievous. Quote
Rook Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Ah so some of you were asking for a "legs up" shot. Here it is. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 The Wheel Bike is excellent, not to mention that very few actually ever build one. Quote
