Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted another creation, and this one has actually been done for a while, I was just too lazy to post it. Its quite small and is really only meant to be a small part of the park, but I'm still really happy with it.

Poison Ivy has taken over Gotham Park:

Different view.

It also seems Poison Ivy has two Manbats guarding her new realm:

p5300067.jpg

Her new pet also gets rid of some nasty intruders:

p5300069.jpg'

While she resides on her literal flower bed:

p5300076.jpg

But Batman and Nightwing arrive to save the day!

p5300086.jpg

Beat up her plant goons!

p5300088.jpg

Nightwing takes out the man-eating plant to save Batman. Though watch out for that Manbat Nightwing!

p5300091.jpg

Nightwing is dragged to the treetop and attacked!

Thankfully Batman batarangs them!

p5300094.jpg

Looks like the nasty root of the problem is caught:

Or has it?

During the day:

Different view.

With normal Gotham citizens:

Poison Ivy's flower bed. Get it? GET IT!?

Side view with Poison Ivy

Ma-eating plant (I am SO happy how this came out, since I'm so rubbish at organic stuff):

Sorry Robin!

Hope you guys like it, and comments always appreciated! And sorry for some dodgy lighting, I was using two different cameras because one is good at close-ups but bad at far shots and vice-versa, and they reacted very differently to some lighting :classic:

Batbrick is done!

Posted (edited)

My oh my, Batbrick, your moc's get better and better! First Killer Croc's sewer, then the Bank, now Ivy's lair! The best bit is the plant monster, but her henchmen also look great!

Whose lair is next? A barn for Scarecrow? A circus for Joker and Harley Quinn? A cake store for the Pieman?

EDIT: Why are there two ManBats? I thought there was only one?

Very nice park, Batbrick.

The organic look of the plants is well done, and I really like how you rendered the iconic Poison Ivy bed-plant.

The fact that you also provided a story and a 'normal day' view just add to this beautifum MOC

It has been quite awhile since we last saw something from you. Seeing this latest creation of yours, simply made me want to see more of your great stuff. No doubt about it, this Gotham Park is nice, especially after comparing the before and after scenes, along with the rest of Poison Ivy's minions.

Thanks for sharing.

Ah! You've been talking about this one for a while, and now it's here at last! It's quite good, even though the park itself isn't all that complex. The flower bed and the "Ma-eating plant" ( ) are definitely the highlights of this creation! Also nice to finally see a MOC with Nightwing in it. Kinda funny how the park has a "No Bats" sign even in its normal state.

Not really my favorite among your creations, but still great work. Now that your not busy reading Batman anymore, I hope you'll have more time now to MOC it! So, does this mean Wayne Manor is up next? :cry_happy:

Great work, Batbrick! I'm a sucker for well-executed foliage and I love your man-eating plant  I like Poison Ivy's flowerbed too, although I am not sure about the 2x2 red plates. Still, the overall shape is very pleasing  and the whole scene has a wonderfully campy menace to it

The "Plant Monster" looks like it came right out of the video game.

@professor flitwick- I do remember a Batman episode (don't ask me witch series it came from) where Mat-Bat's wife took the transformation potion and turn into WoMan-Bat.

Yeah, I think I'm with Svelte on this one - round plates might have been a better choice here. With those, you might even be able to angle them up a bit, making the flower less flat.

Thanks for your comment professor flitwick, next up is a renovated Batcave, then Wayne Manor. Am working on the Wayne graves as well. And I won't touch the store for Simon the Pieman with a ten foot pole for some time, no way am I ready to moc something that hardcore yet!

Thanks to samuraiturtle for this answer:

This park looks AWESOME! One of your best creation! It looks so Gothamish. I only don't like the manbats. They are so black in this green park. The park without Ivy is also good!

Thanks ???theriddler???, glad you like it. I can understand what you mean y the Manbats in this setting, but outside of it I'm really proud of them.

Thanks as always LuxorV, glad you commented and like the normal day view, I normally have that since my night shots are so poor

Thanks too as always WhiteFang, more Gotham stuff is forthcoming, hopefully soon!

Thanks Oky, I wanted the park initially to be quite complex, until I realised that there wasn't anything to really add without either cramming it, looking silly or just being there for the sake of thereness. And thanks for pointing out my embarrassing spelling mistakes

Thanks Svelte, I'll keep this comment in mind, and post an updated version soon. That said, I'm happy you recognised the campy feel as I was definitely going for that.

I may have tried round pieces but I'm pretty sure I didn't. I'm still happy with how it looks, and it actually looks better when not so flat because then the green bits underneath aren't so obvious, but I'll definitely try a rounded piece version and post it :classic:

I really like this! It give me flashbacks to the Batman LEGO game! The plant monster is especially nice; good use of that printed piece. The story is well photographed too!

(I can't believe noone said this already, so)

HOLY-brick building, Batbrick!

Your park looks amazing! I feel inside a comic book, cartoon or a Lego videogame o r a movie, maybe?

Great job!

Great work, mate! ) :classic::thumbup:

You really managed to capture the look and feeling of Gotham. Though, isn't that the 1563-rd time she tries to do it in the park? It never gets boring, however!

I can also see that you took some ideas from the game: well done.

As always, looking forward to seeing more! ) :classic:

Nice work.

The man eating plant is excellently done and the flower-bed is a fantastic idea and its execution looks amazing.

Looks like I will have to 'steal' some designs from you this time.

Oh, and the manbats, though a little incongrouous, are great - I love it that they are brickbuilt and they really deserved their own topic.

Thanks Sinner, glad someone caught the videogame basis. And I was really glad to get rid of those printed piece, since I couldn't think of a single use for it till now.

Wow! This park is amazing how much did this cost you?

Er....no idea, quite a few pieces from quite a few sets.

Thanks friend! Always appreciated! And I agree, Poison Ivy taking over the park only happens with about as much frequency as the Joker laughs. That is to say, a lot. Let's just say its the first time its happened!

Thanks as always Righteous Squid, your opinion is always valued. Glad you like the man-eating plant, if there's an execution I'm proud of its that.

And I have no problem with you taking inspiration from my designs, I owe you for posting instructions for those awesome Penguin duckmobile and downsized Batmobile.

I agree the Manbats are out-of-place, but I wanted to have another element. That said, I wish now I had simply put them in another thread.

It's nice to see something Batman back on here. It's been awhile. Anyway very nice Gotham Park Batbrick! The normal variant is a very excellent addition. Excellent job on the plants too! The park looks very realistic and is very functional. The goons, man-bat, and statue are very excellent details and very well done. Excellent job Batbrick!

Best regards,

JCC

I loved this much like I usually love your other batman MOCs.

I'd also like to point out that I am expecting your batcave like no sane person would... I would like you to take a look at Dave Kaleta's stuff, his batcave looks great and it could be alot of inspiration to you.

Cheers.

Now that is an awesome MOC Batbrick! I love the scenery and bricks used, but most importantly, the custom figures and monsters are awesome! The plant looks like something straight out of Little Shop Of Horrors!
