Oky Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I saw this new magnet set over at Brickset and thought I'd post it here. It's a magnet set with three random female figs, one of which seems to be exclusive for now. Pretty neat in my opinion. 852948 Lady Minifigures Set Quote
prateek Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Nice. I think the one on the right is a teacher, hence the apple. Quote
tchuk-norst Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 It's Princess Taminas from PoP (photo from Bricklink) Quote
ProducePrincess Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 But lego never makes things other than cops and firefighters .She has to be a prison guard of some sort , or a alien in disguse. I think the choice of minifigs for this set was poor , the first two are fairly common and don't really fit in , especcially the agents fig. Quote
Rick Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 That's a neat minifig pack. I own none of these figs. The 'Teacher's Pet' is a great new civilian town fig. Quote
Derek Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Lego is smart. This is a perfect way for them to get rid of some leftover Agents and Pirates parts (they might not even be cheap plastic! ) and still get people to buy it for the new exclusive figure. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I am going to buy that for another Dina and spare me head. Teacher is a bonus. Looks like my legoland shopping list has grown Quote
The Crazy One Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Want. I barley have any Lego females, this would be useful. Quote
dr_spock Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I could some more female bits for my MOCs and town. Quote
Derek Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Looks great and a good way to get girl parts From my experience, nothing Lego-related has helped me get any "girl parts". Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for this picture, Oky Wan Kenobi! The new female City minifigure looks brilliant! But I don't like it that TLG put three females of three completely different themes together in one set. E. g. I have no use for the pirate lady and the Agents lady and so only might buy it because of the City minifigure. Why not including always one female minifig in a magnet set (of course only where it fits)?! Nice. I think the one on the right is a teacher, hence the apple. Perhaps I'm a bit difficult in understand - but why do you think that this minifig has to be a teacher because of the apple, prateek? (The most teachers eat pretzels and drink a cup of coffee.) Peppermint_M Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Apple For Teacher, a common gift from pupil to teacher at school. A visual cue that a desk is a teachers would be an apple, thus this minifigure holding an apple makes one think it could be a teacher. Possibly you have never encountered this before? Quote
peterab Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 From my experience, nothing Lego-related has helped me get any "girl parts". Well played, Sir. But I don't like it that TLG put three females of three completely different themes together in one set. E. g. I have no use for the pirate lady and the Agents lady and so only might buy it because of the City minifigure. Why not including always one female minifig in a magnet set (of course only where it fits)?! I think the agent baddies make quite nice motorcycle leathers, and the pirate torso is OK for more general use, it could be used for a goth out nightclubbing for instance. The only things I can't see an immediate use for are the pirate face and accessories. I don't think thats too bad. You shouldn't feel so restricted by theme KD, with a little imagination these fit right in with the right city Moc. I'll probably get a set of these. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Thank you very much for this link, Rick! I really that new female City minifigure! But having to pay 10 Euros for it is too much. So I really hope that she will appear in a City set next year. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Sandy Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I got this set from Florida's LEGO store during this vacation of mine, as I didn't have any of the three figs previously. The new "teacher" minifig is great, I just wish they would've used the new female head instead of the older one. Quote
Calabar Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Only a little question. Magnet minifigs are different from standard minifigs? For example, pieces are indivisible as happens in keychain minifigs? Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Only a little question. Magnet minifigs are different from standard minifigs? For example, pieces are indivisible as happens in keychain minifigs? You can separate the pieces, but there's a little bit of a quality difference, at least there used to be. Not sure if LEGO fixed the problems or not. Quote

Nikola Bathory Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 From my experience, nothing Lego-related has helped me get any "girl parts". That was funny! Anyway, female minifigs are cool, but these are magnets... I'm not very interested in magnets. Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Anyway, female minifigs are cool, but these are magnets... I'm not very interested in magnets. These new magnet packs which was released back in 2009 or so, are not exactly "magnets" like the ones we saw in the past. These minifigs inside the magnet pack are like your regular minifig where the head, torso and legs could take apart. The magnet element is located in the "2x4" LEGO brick which is used as a magnet stand for your minifig. However, there are some known issue in terms of the quality of the minifig material by comparing with the regular sets. If you are a picky collector which demands high quality standard, then magnet packs will not be right for you. I felt the torso of the magnet minifigs is a little less glossy than the usual ones but I have not bought any new packs recently, so I can't verify that point. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I never knew there's a Ladies Magnet Set, until I saw this. For me this is a great set, a perfect way to get a few females to spruce up your LEGO population. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 *ker-bump* This set is now discounted in Shop at Home, and I find myself wanting it, but I do still have a couple questions... Has the teacher minifigure (or just the torso, really) shown up in any regular sets yet, or is it known to appear in any upcoming sets? Also, I understand they've started gluing the magnet sets together - that is, gluing the minifigures to the magnets, presumably because Hasbro continued complaining about LEGO selling "Star Wars figures." Blech. If that's the case, does it extend to all the magnets, even the non-licensed ones? And if so, would this older set from last year (that's presumably being discontinued, and may be older stock they're trying to move) be likely to be glued? Obviously, if anyone just picked up one of these yesterday, I'd love that person's feedback on whether they're glued or not. Quote
