Lewa Krom Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Bionicle: Next Generation is a group of dedicated Bionicle fans formed on January 20, 2010 with the objective of uniting all of the Bionicle communities across the internet in an attempt to make a Bionicle episode series chronicling all of Bionicle history. In the time since our birth, we have finished many models such as Tahu or Hahli and Jaller. We’ve even started animation now! But this can only become a reality if the fans help other fans. Learn how to 3D model – any program is welcome (though Blender is free, so if you’re just starting off, go for Blender if you want to save money). Lego may have abandoned Bionicle but we can bring to the level of excellence that we, the fans, expect. If you are interested, contact the topic starter or simply google us. You’ll find us for sure! Let’s Keep Bionicle Alive! Edited August 11, 2010 by Lewa Krom Quote
ultimate antrozek Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I could sign for conceptual artist andd maybe voice actor Quote
CabooseBM Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 My biggest problem with the models you have done so far is how inconsistent they are in quality and aesthetic, I really hope you unify them into one style soon, preferably more like DM Kopaka. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) Hmmm... I've got a rather wide range of vocal abilities; I might try out to be a voice actor. Should the voice be similar to the ones in the official movies? Edited June 7, 2010 by Mariko Quote
ultra hamster Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 The pictures of the 3-D models are way outdated, we have made a lot more than that. metruin template: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9892/matoran1.jpg Lewa DM: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/maxo1211...ithoutcolor.jpg Throne of Stone: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/maxo1211...stone_final.jpg Bohrok-Kal: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/maxo1211...ioxonpahrak.jpg Updated Shadow Taka: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/maxo1211...a/takafinal.jpg Just some more of what we've done. We have someone working on that ATM Hmmm... I've got a rather wide range of vocal abilities; I might try out to be a voice actor. Should the voice be similar to the ones in the official movies? Well, since the characters up for audition at the moment are Sahmad, Telluris, and Metus, I'd say that do what you think best portrays the characters. Quote
Captain M Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I'm a good modeler, I'm just not stating in which program I'm good at. I doubt anyone here uses it, and it can't be used to import/export models. Quote
VBBN Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I'm liking this, other than the strange fannypacks that the mata have. Looking forward to more progress. Quote
Lewa Krom Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Captain M - What program are you using? Maybe some of our workers know how to fix your problem. Credit to Cherixon for banner We are forming the Bionicle: Next Generation: Support Group. While the Blender Academy deals with one-on-one training in Blender, we are also doing something a little more broad. By joining the BNG: Support Group you are given access to many things including... •Beta testing the Bionicle Arena game due out by January 2011 •Have a custom character appear in the Bionicle Arena game •Be the first to see the movies we create and give us your opinion before it is released to the general public •Monthly BNG newsletters (if you want) •Appearance in the BNG comic series being written by Lewa Krom •Be eligible for the BNG Writer's Club (coming soon) •More in the works! All we ask in return is that, once a month you try to complete a unit in Blender 3D: Noob to Pro tutorial all the way through Unit III. After that, you'll be able to join BNG as a modeler or animator. If you need assistance, we have some experts who would be glad to take the time to help you (*cough* glares at Phantax for no particular reason ). If you really want to become a primary modeler/animator or help with a game, you can finish Unit IV in the tutorial and then take this brief tutorial if you're interested in game making: Blender 3D: Blending into Python By doing one unit a month, you get full membership in BNG as well as any and all benefits that come with it! From someone who's taken most of the tutorial, I can say it's not incredibly difficult and you actually feel like you're getting the hang of it by halfway through the first unit. Also, current BNGers. I'll be making a mandate of this upon those who I'm are not busy this summer (Busy meaning Nusua or Krayce - they amongst a few others will be exempt from this mandate) to also do the same work that the members of our Support Group will be doing. As I have been quoted "I have a dream that one day everyone will be able to 3D model and 3D animate." By learning this stuff, I'm not asking you to be particularly good at it, just being able to understand things when people talk about meshes and baking and stuff like that as well as being able to help render something should somebody need you to do it. So with that: It's summer. That's roughly 3 months of free time. Chances are you could finish the 3 units by the end of the month by putting in less than an hour a day. I'm not asking for much. Just a minimum. And who knows - maybe BNG will be more successful than anyone thought before! Edited June 17, 2010 by Lewa Krom Quote

CabooseBM Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Those huge-tastic spiked shoulderpads are possibly the silliest and most ridiculous idea ever. Blech. Quote
Zarkan Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 CabooseBM is right about the Tahu shoulder armor (although I personally wouldn't have stated it nearly as rudely as him), and I'm also not a fan of the chest armor and the Technic hand on the side of the realistic hand. However, a lot of the stuff you guys have looks very impressive, and it gives me a little hope that you guys might actually be able to pull something off. The thing I'm most concerned about is that, with so many different projects going on, the team really lacks a unified focus. I think it would be better to start off a bit smaller - say, with one or two projects - and if they suceeed, then move on to other ones. Personally, I think most of you guys should concentrate on Dark Mirror, as that has the potential to be a really epic and unique movie. Although, personally, I'm still really waiting for the definitive 2001 fan movie, which would hopefully combine all of our favorite scenes from the comics, MNLOG, and perhaps even the books. However, for that to suceed, it'd really have to be at least an hour and a half long, while Dark Mirror only really needs an hour at the most to cover everything in the serial. In addition, a 2001 movie would also need a lot more sets and likely have a lot more intense action scenes, making it all the more difficult to pull off. I can see why Lewa11 abandoned it for a while (and perhaps abandoned it again, as I haven't seen any updates for a while) - doing justice to one of the greatest years of Bionicle will really take a ton of work! Regardless, I wish you guys well. I'm afraid I won't be able to help, as I'm busy working on my own personal project (which has nothing to do with Bionicle). But it seems you guys already have a lot of talent on your team, so I doubt you'll need a third-rate artist like me anyway. Quote
ultra hamster Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Fixed the arms. Also, I removed the shoulder pads completely since it was impossible to make them fit without restricting movement. This is the latest DM tahu. As you can see the shoulder pads have been removed. Edited July 7, 2010 by ultra hamster Quote

Lewa Krom Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 To all the doubters in the world (:P), I'm giving you guys a brief update on what we have completed. ^Jaller in a cart^ ^Pre-Growth Shadow Leeched Takanuva^ ^Tahu Lava Test^ ^Bordakh^ ^Ta-Metru Street WIP^ We hope to have The Empire released in Spring 2011. Quote
Mirrorman95 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 How do I get those models, like Takanuva, because I've searched high and low on Brickshelf, and I've myself ripped the models from the Mata Nui Explorer and the Tohunga in Backlot, but no matter who I ask or where I search, I cannot seem to find the current models of Takua and Takanuva and others anywhere. Does anyone know what I should do? I'm not going to use the models for any other project, nor will I publish them elsewhere or in any way claim them as my own, nor will I reveal where to get the models if asked not to, but these models are really story-accurate, and I just want to make sure that the models will be preserved in case someone's hard drive crashes or something so they aren't lost forever. I hope I'm not asking too much. Quote
