UsernameMDM Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I honestly don't know but from what I've heard I believe that Belville will get new sets next year and I got a hint that may suggest that it's minifig scale or that there will be a Belville-ish theme (Paradisia II?) that is minifig scale. But I'm far from 100% sure about that. If it's minifig scale and has the Belleville fairytale stuff, that would rock. Quote
prateek Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Maybe that fairy keychain is part of something deeper than just keychains.... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Maybe that fairy keychain is part of something deeper than just keychains.... Maybe you're right, prateek, esp. since Belville is mainly addressed to girls. But I personally really would much more prefer a Paradisa-like minifig-scale Belville theme (which would supposably go very well with the City theme) than a Belville Fantasy theme. From here: I think that we will not see hospital theme in 2011, but I'm pretty sure that we will se harbour theme in 2H2011 (whicch is probably not in dealers catalogue which KD saw). Might be the same with in other themes mentioned egypt, indian and other themes. Wait, wait ... I think that's now a bit too much of phantasy of your source, Cwetqo! You really have to agree that - if we will get a new additional historical theme in 2011 - it's absolutely impossible that we'll see two new historical themes. So either Egypts or Indians. Plus an Indian theme is absolutely unlickely - esp. since for sure firstly a "regular" Western theme would appear (since for kids cowboys, bandits and sheriff are surely more exciting than Indians). Cwetqo Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) I agree KD, it makes no sense... But why do you automaticaly think that this means native american. Edited September 12, 2010 by Cwetqo Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) I agree KD, it makes no sense... But why do you automaticaly think that "indian" means native american. With "Indian" most people associate Native Americans, don't you think? Plus I think that Aztecs, Mayas e. g. tribes would be mentioned seperately if these were released - not under the name "Indian(s)". Equally if Native Americans, Aztecs or Mayas - more than one new (or since a very long time not released) non-licensed historical theme in one year is absolutely excluded. These themes would compete - with the consumer having to decide whether to buy sets of this or that theme (since the most consumers can't efford all sets they' like to get) - not a very well advised marketing strategy. Cwetqo Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) I was thinking more about sets similar like Orient theme from some time ago. Edited September 12, 2010 by Cwetqo Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) But again, this is just my speculation, I have no other informations from my source but those two words: egypt and indian and that could mean many things (could also be just some new games) Let's hope that it won't be only rumors or games! But perhaps your source isn't that familiar with history and so saw following -some buildings looking similar to pyramides = "Egypt(s)" -Natives looking similar to Native Americans = "Indian(s)" ===>> Aztecs or Mayas theme (like the Amazonas Adventurers (but maybe without adventurers) in reality What do you think? Btw: Cwetqo, do you think that your source is reliable? I mean: If he or she is a toy shop owner of a toy shop where you often buy and who knows you very well or someone who works at the right position in the Lego Company - then the source is reliable. But if it's only someone like you and me and she or he can't say you from where she or he got his or her information, then I would be a bit careful. The Green Brick Giant Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I was thinking more about sets from India, similar like Orient theme from some time ago. But again, this is just my speculation, I have no other informations from my source but those two words: egypt and indian and that could mean many things (could also be just some new games) I doubt they will do India ever again. Those sets were a complete disaster (sales wise) and I don't see LEGO wanting to go back down that road. Quote
noname Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I'd really want to see some Dragon-Kingdom sets- so far, they're really outnumbered... Quote
Sandy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I doubt they will do India ever again. Those sets were a complete disaster (sales wise) and I don't see LEGO wanting to go back down that road. If it's true what you say about the sales, it's a darn shame, because the Orient Expedition theme offered the most unique historical buildings and other sets in any theme. But if next year brings us a new historical theme aside Kingdoms, I for one will certainly welcome it with open arms. Quote

But if next year brings us a new historical theme aside Kingdoms, I for one will certainly welcome it with open arms. I completely agree. Design wise they were very strong, but they didn't sale. That's why the Adventure theme died and LEGO thinks every set needs to have a car and action devices. I remember an interview talking about it years ago. I also remember getting most of the sets on clearance for at least 50%-75% off. The mountain temple is one of, if not my favorite LEGO "castle" ever. Quote
Wout Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I found the Indian Palace a very nice design, but was a bit dissapointed it had no furniture. Quote
Tropy Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 In the TECHNIC theme, I predict that there will be a "Super Car III" set -- one which is a FLAGSHIP with ~1,500 parts and Power Functions driving motors. It will have full remote-control steering and 2-speed transmission, independent suspension, gullwing doors, V-8 or V-10 engine, etc. -- a worthy successor to the 8880 "Super Car" set from 1994 and the 8448 "Super Street Sensation/ Super Car Mk II" set from 1999. I really hope this prediction would become true... Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 There are some rumors (not in any way officially confirmed) about large red technic car. I hope it's not just another mon-functional Ferrari set, like enzo and 599. Ideal would be to get new Ferrari 458 Italia, motorized with PF, but I dont beleive that this will happen. It will be either fully functional PF model (most likely), or another Ferrari showcase model. Quote
Fugazi Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 A post by Quex on 1000steinne.de seems to confirm an Egypt theme in April! Google Translate gives us: The Egypt-Sets are at first glance, very handsome, with something bothers me that there is a lot of shooting and fighting. Here you can also collect different things like Atlantis, which are housed in the various sets. As new parts fall on me wings, knives, Priesersta, beetles, and an increased base plate. (I hope things are printed and not to decorate with stickers! 7327 Pyramid of Pharaoh € 99.99 (including half-track) 7325 Enchanted cobra € 29.99 7307 Duel in the air 19.99 (Toller biplane) 7306 Race for the gold bar € 9.99 7305 attack of scarab € 4.99 7326 Mysterious Sphinx € 49.99 Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 A post by Quex on 1000steinne.de seems to confirm an Egypt theme in April! Google Translate gives us: Ooh, very nice... Thanks for sharing this great news Fugazi! Looks like the Series 2 Pharoah will get a 'home' afterall. This Egyptian theme really looks exciting, I could just imagine pyramids, the sphinx, tan/dark tan pieces galore, and Cleopatra! Quote
Etzel Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Thanks for that info, Fugazi. Sounds to me like an adventurers-like theme. Of course, I'm not expecting to much right now. I remember how the Atlantis theme really disappointed me when the pics came out. But I think we can get some nice pieces in this new theme. Quote
Fugazi Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) You're welcome! There is more in the original post, about NinjaGo, space port sets, Atlantis, Technic, Creator, Games, Duplo, etc... but I will wait for a more competent translator! Edited September 16, 2010 by Fugazi Quote
David Thomsen Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Sounds to me like an adventurers-like theme. It does very much... right down to the biplane. I'm not interested in the Egypt theme itself, but if they have a new country each year for the adventurers to visit, I might be into that. Also, if they bring back Adventurers this soon after Indiana Jones, it seems plausible that they'll bring back classic pirates a couple of years after Pirates of the Caribbean. Quote
Marckeyh Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Looking forward to "8070 Super Car 109,99€" ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Well 'Pharaoh Quest' eh ? Maybe Johnny Thunder might return ? No power miners ? And for the little kiddies, good old Winnie The Poo in Duplo.....handy they can use the old molds right ? I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
BrickWild Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Looking forward to "8070 Super Car 109,99€" ! Another Super Car?! Quote
Sandy Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Yay for the return of Adventurers and Egypt! good old Winnie The Poo Sorry, the immature side in me can't help but to chuckle at this. Quote
Fugazi Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) Sounds to me like an adventurers-like theme. Yes, with all the shooting involved and the biplane, this sounds more like Adventurers than a true historic theme. Is this the unexpected comeback of Johnny Thunder? Can't wait to see the chosen colour palette and minifigures. EDIT: I thought it would be better to have a separate topic for the Egypt theme discussion, now that it's confirmed. Sorry, the immature side in me can't help but to chuckle at this. Tsk tsk Edited September 16, 2010 by Fugazi Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Oh, wow - the return of Adventurers (or debut of something like it) sounds absolutely wonderful, if only it had come one or two years later, as I was really hoping for the return of Indiana Jones next year. It seems very unlikely they'd do both Indy and Adventurers in the same year, and next year is the year to do an encore for Indy (since it's the anniversary year), so I can only assume they're not going to do any more Indiana Jones sets (at least unless and until there's a fifth movie). Alas. That said... wow! Adventurers back?! Awesome! The original line was well underway (going from Dino Island to Orient Expedition) as I was coming out of my dark ages, so I missed all the original Egyptian sets; I'll be very glad for another crack at this material. And hopefully it really is a return of Adventurers rather than a totally new take on the material; I'd like to see Johnny and friends (and enemies!) again... Quote
