Artifex Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Hail all! My very first Lego was a small blue tow truck. It came with a driver/repairman. I also had this beautiful two-store house with a car, tree, mailbox and a minifig couple. Thing is: I can't just find their sets number, and I've never seen any of these two sets in the internet! 'Legoland' comes to my mind, but I can't just find the tow truck and the house... The truck in the pic in this link is quite akin to the one I had (but mine was smaller and blue instead of white): http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=1506_1&v=z. Ok, I just found the truck: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=1967_2&v=z. It's the one down bellow, on the right. There's even a review of it right here on EB: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...mode=linearplus I still can't seem to find the house, but it was similar to this one: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=6349_1&v=z If you have any clues or links, pleaselet me know, ok? Shadows Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 If you could be a little more vague... Ok, if I had to guess on a blue tow truck, it would be set 6679 from 1980 or set 6656 from 1985. ~ If you want to improve your odds, give me the likely year you received them and I'll do better. Quote
Fugazi Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Could your house be 6374 Holiday Home, from 1983? Beautiful indeed! As for the tow truck, either what Shadows suggested, or this one? Oh I see you found it! Edited June 8, 2010 by Fugazi Quote

Artifex Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Glad they've been found. I like hunting for old sets, it's a great way to learn about all the things that came before. I totally agree. All current ideas came from somewhere, and it's productive to see the development of things, the big picture. Wanna hear one related fun thing? I'm reading this book on Apple and Steve Jobs, and yesterday I heard all these complaints about him and the new iPhone... The presentation and how everything in the *new* iPhone is already common to phones that are now 3-4 years old. But Job's marketing is not so different from what he and Apple did 30 years ago. Did you guys see the iPad ad om TV? It's the very same structure, with a new face. And it's the same with Lego: the very same basic ideas, but with new, cool and cool-looking designs! I love it (Lego; I never had any Apple gadget :()! Quote
