Zorbas Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I'm sorry, but Greece is the opposite of good at football/soccer. Don't be sorry prateek, you're absolutely right. That's the truth during the last four years. My eyes were hurt during today's match... Anyhow, since World Cup (or Mundial as I like to call it) is my all-time favorite sports tournament by far, I'll sit back and enjoy the ride. Quote
Mr Meleca Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I am brazilian, but I am with England in this WCup I saw 3 Wcup finals and i have one advice, that I learned in 98´WCup: The most important is not who wins, the important is to be where is the party after the game... when Brazil lost the final to France, I only wanted to be in France, in the party, not in Rio de JAneiro... Now I live in London , so I hope England takes this Wcup...... Quote
Sisco Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 USA- making England look bad since 1776. U S A! U S A! U S A! Good luck to you English folks, no hard feelings over this match. Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 USA- making England look bad since 1776. How have you made us look bad? Your country last won the cup in 1930, You lost lots of wars e.t.c. Quote
Zorbas Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Your country last won the cup in 1930, Uruguay won the cup in 1930 if you're talking about World Cup. Still, their progress is amazing during the last 20 years. Quote
Sisco Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 "lost a bunch of wars"? What history book are you looking at? The USA have not officially lost any wars. I guess you could be reffering to Vietnam and 1812, those ARE kind of debatable. We're kinda getting off topic though... I think that the final score will be 2-1, for either team. Hoping US, though. It was a marvelous shot, Just skimmed Tim Howard's gloves... EDIT: Ouch... I hope Howards okay... He really got nailed... Edited June 12, 2010 by cralegoboy Quote

dr_spock Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) USA since Canada is not in it. But looks like they missed a couple of good chances to tie the score against England. EDIT: Tied 1-1 :) Edited June 12, 2010 by dr_spock Quote

-JD- Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) No Green!!!!!!! You gonzo! Get off the pitch! Muppet... Wasn't even a hard save! Edited June 12, 2010 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 No Green!!!!!!! You gonzo! Get off the pitch!Muppet... Wasn't even a hard save! Well there is alot of nerves, If your over confident to win, You lose. "lost a bunch of wars"? What history book are you looking at? Just too answer than, its annoying me. You lost Vietnam, War of 1812, All three Seminole Wars, Red Cloud's War, You pratically lost Korea and the American Civil War. Quote
Sisco Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 Don't mention the Civil war, that was an internal conflict and DOESN'T count. And if we lost 1812, then why are we not under English control right now? Oh, riiiight, 'cause it was a draw. Anywho, I loved Green's butterfingers . I don't see how he failed to save that... Quote
The Legonater Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 It was hillarious- my and my friend were flipping through the channels, when te world cuo was brought. "Hvae you ever noticed how you barely see soccer on TV anymore?" I asked. "Yeah, it's beacause games take so long. Some can go on for hours." "Oh yeah? Why's that?" We then saw the results of the first game, and he turned and said "That's why." Quote
prateek Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) Gerrard!!! Yeah!!! Liverpool!!! Yeah!!! That was an amazing goal, but Clint Dempsey's was so flukey. They didn't deserve to win, although Hemsky could've done better. Why is he on the team instead of Theo Walcott? Edited June 12, 2010 by prateek Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 The behind-the-scene of USA-England: Obama to Queen Elizabeth: "If ya win, we'll bomb ya" . What a shameful game, for Eurosoccer ! Quote
Artifex Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 England 1x1 USA? 'Guess that US goal confirms everything I've been saying about the Cup ball: not the best out there... Or maybe the goalkeeper just failed. Badly. Quote
squiz Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Liverpool!!! Yeah!!! That was an amazing goal, but Clint Dempsey's was so flukey. They didn't deserve to win, although Hemsky could've done better. Why is he on the team instead of Theo Walcott? Forget walcott, where is darren bent ? Only rooney scored more than him in the premiership this season (heskey scored 3 ) Bent would have burried the chances heskey had last night. Quote
posades Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Great result eh? What's the tiebreaker when 2 teams have the same number of points, would it be goal differential? Just asking because it may come down to finishing in 1st place might be worse if Germany finishes 2nd in their group or something. It's been a decent worldcup so far, though a few of the games have been snoozefests (I'm looking at you France). Quote
Holodoc Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I updated myself accordingly. To be honest: If Germany makes it to the semi-finals that would be outstanding. But more? At least there are other countries, who have german trainers. Oooops, Greece... Quote

Zorbas Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 (edited) At least there are other countries, who have german trainers.Oooops, Greece... Herr Otto's choices were f***ing senseless yesterday. He used players that hadn't play in their club teams for months and he also used them in totally wrong positions. The players were like crap too of course. They are also not innocent. It was Euro 2008 all over again. EDIT: Is that a vuvuzela your sig-fig is holding? This is a reason to get banned... Edited June 13, 2010 by Zorbas Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Did you know: 1) Brazil won the World Cup in 1994 and 1970. 1994+1970=3964 2) Argentina won the World Cup in 1986 and 1978. 1986+1978=3964 3) Germany won the World Cup in 1990 and and 1974. 1990+1974=3964 4) Brazil again won in 2002, and in 1962. 1962+2002=3964 So, this year, it's Germany's turn. Why? Because 3964-2010=1954, in which year Germany won the World Cup. Unfortunately, for the US Team, which has never won, they'll have to wait 1954 more years. Why? Because 3954+0=3954! Quote
tiggerkiddo Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Can we ban the vuvuzela? Or whatever it's called? All I hear is those things and they get annoying quick. Quote
