Yeah! New Zealand Drew!

Trust me this is actually a big thing for us as most people were expecting for them to lose and its our first points in a FIFA word cup!

The suspense was incredible. Sitting there, half asleep ( ), In awe, as the goal was scored. Wow. Reid is my hero :sweet:

Well done All whites. You have the support of all 4 Million of us :cry_happy:

Italy vs. Paraguay = ay ay ay ay!!!

Even though the Switz's goal was damn lucky since the goalee was on the floor, Its still a awesome goal.

Even though Spain is my second team, they were pitiful today and didn't deserve to win. :hmpf_bad: When you have that many chances and fail to convert one, you're either really unlucky or the goalkeeper is pretty good (a mix of both I guess).

And was it just me or did Torres look really rusty? Seemed every ball he touched would get away from him.

Yeah he looked off the pace. Has he only just come back from injury ? He had a pretty injury hit season for liverpool so maybe thats catching up with him. I thought spain looked alright, they huffed and puffed but ran out of ideas. Fair play to switzerland, they looked dangerous on the counter attack and defended well.

Spain lost? :oh3::oh3:

I missed the game since I had extra things to do at work. Now, that was something I wasn't expecting, although that in all fairness Switzerland has made a very good and strong team over the last 4 years.

Was the match any good?

EDIT:

I've just watched the goal. It reminded me of the game where you spin a colourful wheel and place hands and legs on the appropriate colours on a mat. One crowded penalty area.

I read in the Dutch newspaper "Algemeen Dagblad" this morning that the England-U.S.A. in lego is made by the German Fabian Moritz (19).

He has now also made The Netherlands-Denmark.

Wow, can't believe Switzerland won! :oh: That was a very thrilling game, I kept thinking Spain would tie it up at the last minute.

On the other hand, South Africa played terribly today... Uruguay definitely deserved to win that one.

Uraguay were like "Yeah, I scored, So?" The never really jumped and danced!

About "Spain's" Game today, I'll just quote myself from the very first page of this thread:

Spain is always a lot of talk, but lets face it: no real football, no real victories, no World Cup titles.

Lots of surprises during the tournament so far! Mexico beating France 2:0 was a bit unexpected but they deserved it - France did nothing that could've given them victory.

As I posted earlier, I really supported Nigeria, but what Sani Kaita did yesterday was foolish (kicking Greek player, getting a well-deserved red card). He should be disciplined by the coach in some way too.

Adieu, frog-eaters  ! Que viva Mexico  !

Germany...l...l...loses?! Germany1.png

Vuvuz(H)ellas!!! Our first winning match in World Cup! :sweet: This is how I want the team to play, even though I know that a major factor was also the red card for the Nigerian player. Both teams had lots of missed changes of scoring and the second half was probably one of the best so far.

Now Argentina. A very difficult match for us and I am still down to earth when it comes to qualifying. Who knows...

Oooops, Germany... :sadnew:

Congrats to Serbia.

Come on England!!

Why was that 3rd USA goal disallowed?

Because no one wanted them to win and then do what they did with England.

The US Papers said: "WE WON" as there title, it was a draw America. Get it right. :hmpf_bad:

Plus the 3rd US goal was after the referee's whistle, Dunno why your guys carried on the game.

Wow! Lots of upsets already. Spain didn't deserve to win that game, and Torres was injured most of the season (probably one of the reasons Liverpool didn't do too well this year) so I wasn't surprised when I saw his poor play. But no exception for the rest of the team. Germany lost too! I didn't get to see it, but Serbia is a pretty good team. I don't see why the ref called a foul before the US's goal, I didn't see a thing. Lets go Portual and Holland!!!

Yeah, All the experts have been betting the wrong stuff. It bet, the betting shops are profiting from the results!

I feel really stupid now, I stayed home instead of going to my mates house to watch the game cause I thought my girlfriend was gonna be lonely, Turns out shes going to her mates house to watch it! I feel like a idiot...

*oh2* As long as Netherlands wins tomorrow, I'm okay with all this upset.

That ref in the US game sucked. We should have had the full 3 points, but at least we control our own destiny thanks to England. Now I just need to figure out if we should finish 1st or 2nd, since avoiding Germany would probably be best in the next round.
