Alex the Great Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 That England game was terrible! The worst World Cup game I've seen, then Rooney goes telling off the fans for booing him. Don't you think they're loyal to build up their savings for years to watch you, wow I hope England doesn't make it through now. Quote
Forresto Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Because no one wanted them to win and then do what they did with England. The US Papers said: "WE WON" as there title, it was a draw America. Get it right. Plus the 3rd US goal was after the referee's whistle, Dunno why your guys carried on the game. Apparently you don't know us Americans and our awesomeness (Just playing) Besides that should've been a point towards us. A lot of friends of mine who don't root for USA said they shoould've gotten the point. The problem with soccor that it has too too many minor technicalities compared to Baseball, Basketball, and even Football (american) Quote
The Crazy One Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Come on South Africa or England! If either of them win I'll be a happy man. Sadly I doubt either team will actually get past the groups, but I will still support them till I die! Yeah, that's commitment! Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I'm depressed. That was a terrible game, now we have to beat Ghana... The problem with soccor that it has too too many minor technicalities compared to Baseball, Basketball, and even Football (american) Really? I think soccer is very simple compared to most sports, and definitely simpler than american football. Anyway, the US definitely deserved that goal, and I hope they manage to move on to the next round. Quote
prateek Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Netherlands!!! I'm surprised to see that I'm the only one that isn't Dutch to like them to win Quote
Zorbas Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Denmark and Cameroon gave us probably the best match so far. Well done land of Lego! Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Denmark team "playability": 10/10 . (Cameroun however has been a dangerous opponent ) Quote
Wout Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Netherlands!!! I'm surprised to see that I'm the only one that isn't Dutch to like them to win Thank you! I'm also happy the dutch team won, but the game itself was not a beauty to watch. In earlier years the team tried to play a nice game, but not always won with that tactic. Now I think they look more for results, even when it's make a boring game. Quote
Zorbas Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 In earlier years the team tried to play a nice game, but not always won with that tactic. Now I think they look more for results, even when it's make a boring game. I can still remember the great Oranje team from the late '80s-early '90s. So much skill and talent and with some of the best players playing side by side (Marco respect). You're absolutely right about the results thing. Most of the teams nowadays are after the result as a prime target and unfortunately the "fun" side of football comes second or third as a priority. Even Brazil changed the "Jogo Bonito" style for a more european "orthological" style of game. Quote
KimT Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Denmark and Cameroon gave us probably the best match so far. Well done land of Lego! Why thank you Yeah they've won, but there's still the match against Japan. On the paper not a big problem - but knowing our usual luck with this game, they'll probably make it too damn exicting. Thank the maker I am not a soccer fan... Quote
Skalldyr Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) Germany...l...l...loses?! Nice smilie..... may I use it!?! And about the Game Germany lost. ...Our Prof at the university gave us the day free because of the game, and than they lost.... Edited June 20, 2010 by Skalldyr Quote
Legoman Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 2.56 AM here. Half time. New Zealand 1. Italy 1. Keep it up Boys! Quote
Dunjohn Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 It's been an interesting, if strange, tournament so far. I'm kinda surprised that England aren't doing better. With every person in Ireland actively channeling their karma into hoping France do badly, England should be winning every game 10-0. Quote
posades Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 2.56 AM here. Half time. New Zealand 1. Italy 1. Keep it up Boys! I'm rooting for the Kiwis! And for the record that penalty call against you was bogus. Anyone else hear about the drama going on in the French camp? Apparently the team is refusing to train due to the sending home of Anelka (who called the head coach some dirty words ). This should be interesting, maybe they'll boycott the game against South Africa? Quote

prateek Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 France is done without Anelka, Italy is garbage (IMO, no offense to anyone), good job for Kiwis, and BRA vs CIV is going to be a good game (probably not ) Quote
Zorbas Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Thank the maker I am not a soccer fan... It's still not too late to change your mind. We even have Shakira to cheer us up! Great job Kiwis! Man, so many unexpected results! Anyway, good luck to all the teams and always remember: Impossible is nothing. Long live the underdogs! I could see it coming I guess... Btw, check this out. Quote
§edalia Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I'm going Cote D'Ivore, all the way. You guys see how Italy was faking everything against New Zealand today? And on ESPN, they messed up the name of the first goal-scorer (they said Ryan Nelsen.....wow.....). Quote

Guess that karma I mentioned is starting to manifest Quote

This should be interesting, maybe they'll boycott the game against South Africa? Sure was. Should have been 1-0. Without that penalty they never would have broken our defence. It'll be intresting to see how france takes things I'm going Cote D'Ivore, all the way. You guys see how Italy was faking everything against New Zealand today? And on ESPN, they messed up the name of the first goal-scorer (they said Ryan Nelsen.....wow.....). It was pritty pathetic. I mean, I know they're not a Rugby nation, But they're still men - grow some ____ (not meant to be too harsh) Ryan Nelsen Quote
squiz Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 New Zealand are my second team in this world cup! Mainly because of tommy smith, he plays for ipswich town who i support here in the uk (only player from our team to make the world cup!). Thought NZ played really well against Italy, deserved to win, that penalty decision was very harsh ! Not many of the big teams are shining at this tournament. England, Spain, Italy and France havent won a single game yet! Brazil are looking good, though i have no idea why kaka was sent off, ridiculous decision ! The ref didnt even see it! The african teams have been dissapointing, this was supposed to be the tournament that they really put down a marker, but they might all go out in the group stages! Quote
Sisco Posted June 20, 2010 Author Posted June 20, 2010 Wow, what a surprising World Cup! All the top teams falling left and right! It doesn't look like Italy will make it very far this Cup, does it? Also, wow... Spain... A very surprising World Cup indeed. Go Lego Nation! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Brazil hasn't fallen yet, but the red card against Kaka?!?!?! Even the official Fox Sports commentator called it ridiculous. Quote
Holodoc Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Brazil hasn't fallen yet, but the red card against Kaka?!?!?! Even the official Fox Sports commentator called it ridiculous. Why bother? He isn't used in the last match of the first round and after that he mey play again. EDIT: The newspaper today told me I am wrong. The yellow and yellow/red cards are kept up until the quarter finals. (A special thanks goes to the spanish referee giving out so many yellow cards during the match Serbia-Germany ) After that all players may play again. Quote
