Brickdoctor Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Woooooo!!!! Ghana is beating the USA! YEAH! I don't even support Ghana but they just did a brilliant thing! Watching it now... Shall I be a patriot or root for the third-world country? Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Watching it now... Shall I be a patriot or root for the third-world country? Be a patriot and fail. Like Frankie Boyle said "Fair Trade, If you don't like it, your racist" So root fairly! Quote
KimT Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Japan beat Denmark 3-1? I genuinely couldn't believe it. Japan scored one goal in their first two games. The fever will carry on here. Ssssh! Don't tell anyone Good game from Japan - miserable effort from the Danish team Such things happen in a game like this - thank gawd I'm a motorsports guy and not a soccer guy I just hope Japan makes it far - then it wont be that bad to have them kick us out. Go Japan Make Us Proud. Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) Come on Ghana! Own the USA so they won't be so cocky! Wahahahahaha!!!!! EDIT: YES!!! England is literally jumping with joy! Sorry USA but this is sweet revenge! Wahahaha! Edited June 26, 2010 by Joey Lock Quote

Sorry USA but this is sweet revenge! Wahahaha! Don't get carried away Joey, alright? It wouldn't feel so good if it was your team (hope it will be tomorrow). Although I cheer for Germany, I still would have liked to see the US win. Oh well, Ghana deserved to win for the most part. Quote

And yes, Your most probably gonna win tomorrow, I come to terms with that. But I'm happy USA failed before UK. That's all I needed. Quote
prateek Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 EDIT: YES!!! England is literally jumping with joy! Sorry USA but this is sweet revenge! Wahahaha! Sorry, but shouldn't you be getting revenge on Robert Green, instead of the USA team? The game today was amazing, but I don't understand why the commentator called Gyan a Black Star. He just sounded blatantly racist. Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Sorry, but shouldn't you be getting revenge on Robert Green, instead of the USA team? Nah, People have moaned a Robert Green but its a goalee mistake, many other people have done the same over time. But I have more anger for the US, just cause of the reaction after they said "We won" the match. That got on my nerves. Quote
Dunjohn Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Come on Ghana! Own the USA so they won't be so cocky! Wahahahahaha!!!!! EDIT: YES!!! England is literally jumping with joy! Sorry USA but this is sweet revenge! Wahahaha! Literally?? Glad I'm not a Dubliner or I'd probably be soaking wet right now.... I didn't watch the extra time but the ninety minutes was great. It was weird, I was kinda rooting for both teams to win. I wanted USA to win because I just like them but I thought the Ghanans had done great so far and deserved to keep going. I think I'm slightly happpier with the Ghana win but I'd be happy either way. Tomorrow I'm rooting for Germany. Nothing against England, I've just always liked Germany more. Man, I'm mellow. Quote
lisqr Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 The game today was amazing, but I don't understand why the commentator called Gyan a Black Star. He just sounded blatantly racist. Something to do with the large black star on Ghana's flag? Just a guess. But a great match. Watched with both Americans and African, interesting experience. Quote

But I have more anger for the US, just cause of the reaction after they said "We won" the match. That got on my nerves. Haha are you for real? It was one paper, and they were just pointing out the fact that a draw felt like a win to us since we were such an underdog. If anything you should be proud of the reverence we have for your team. And you can call us cocky all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that I'm rooting for you guys tomorrow. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 but I don't understand why the commentator called Gyan a Black Star. He just sounded blatantly racist. That's a nickname for Ghana's team. I'm not so sure that we'll win tomorrow. The game against Australia was fantastic, but the last two games have been very shaky. We'll just have to wait and see. Quote
Sisco Posted June 26, 2010 Author Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) I was happy with the USA's performance in this World Cup. Won our group (HA Joey ), got to the knockout round, got knocked out by a very respectable team in a very close game. Could have been a lot worse. I'm looking forward to watching Germany whoop some megablocks tomorrow. EDIT: Well, the word filter works! Edited June 26, 2010 by cralegoboy Quote

Destroydacre Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Come on Ghana! Own the USA so they won't be so cocky! Wahahahahaha!!!!! EDIT: YES!!! England is literally jumping with joy! Sorry USA but this is sweet revenge! Wahahaha! Funny you have to take solace in the USA losing because you know England is going nowhere. It's always hilarious to watch the English media completely overhype their team every world cup just to watch them fall flat on their face. The really sad part though, is that the English people soak it up and actually think England does have a chance. Quote
prateek Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Something to do with the large black star on Ghana's flag? Just a guess. That's a nickname for Ghana's team. He called Gyan, the player, not the whole team, the Black Star of Ghanaian football. Star as in hero, and I don't know what he meant by black. Maybe he just threw it in there to make it sound relative to the Ghanaian team. Quote

Until next time... Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 And you can call us cocky all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that I'm rooting for you guys tomorrow. Why root for us? Germanys better! You guys still aren't sore about the Boston Tea Party and that 1776 thing, are you? Oh well, it was fun to watch the US while it lasted. Until next time... Now now, This is football but I am familiar with how instead of you guys getting guns and fighting us, you had to be children and push our tea overboard. Now please, Thats a childish thing to start a revolution with... But I think the reason I hate the american team so much was Landon Donovan, How he was so cock sure "Oh yeah, THe England game is our easiest game" and at the end "Oh yeah, I think we worked real hard, we deserved our goal" Wait WHAT? You didn't deserve any goal! Quote
Zorbas Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Such things happen in a game like this - thank gawd I'm a motorsports guy and not a soccer guy If I tell you that the japanese team has a Honda, will you change your mind? Japan has made a great progress btw and it's one of the most organised teams in this World Cup. Quote
Sisco Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Goooooaaaaallll Germany! Spectacular, and how often does the keeper get an assist? Quote
Zorbas Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I've just returned home and saw Lampard's shot/goal... Quote
-JD- Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Bye bye World Cup Dream. It'll be a miracle if England gets three goals before full-time. Have to say that it would have been a different game altogether if Lampard's goal was allowed. Edited June 27, 2010 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
Dunjohn Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Yeah, woulda been 4-2 ;) The disallowed goal was unfortunate (but hey, 1966 and all that) but England were outclassed today. One thing I noticed during the game was how hot the Germany supporters were. And the cameraman noticed it too, he couldn't keep the lens off them! You'd swear it was all women in the stands. Edited June 27, 2010 by Dunjohn Quote
Sisco Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Ehhwww... England got beat 4-1... Sorry to my English friends (except for Joey; you guys failed more than the USA did!) for their loss. That disallowed goal was fricken crap, honestly. The ref had to have been blind... Who knows, the game might have gone a different way if that goal was spotted. Good world cup, guys. Except I was rooting for Germany. Good job Deustchland! EDIT: Just saw Dunjohn's post... He's right about the camera man . They were very pretty, though. Edited June 27, 2010 by cralegoboy Quote
