Erdbeereis Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Woohoo! That was really nice, good job Deutschland! I must say, at half time I thought we would lose. But, in the end it worked out. Mueller played great. Unfortunate about Lampard's shot, that's exactly why we need replay like most other sports use. Quote
prateek Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I knew England was going to get smashed today. They lacked the intensity that Germany had. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Guess that World War II allegory is gone now? England just lost the Battle of Britain. Quote
escortmad79 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Totally gutless performance!! Where the hell was our defence for 3 of Germanys goals? Simple schoolboy stuff & we couldn't do it!! Overpaid primadonnas!! Capello should be sacked for managing our worst display at a world tournement for years but will cost a fortune to get rid of him! Quote
Holodoc Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Very well played. And they deserved the 4:2 (both sides). Where exactly was the english team in the 2nd half? Now on to Argentina! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Very well played. And they deserved the 4:2 (both sides). Oh, definitely. Quote
Dunjohn Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Today was controversial all around. Tevez was way offside when he scored Argentina's first. The linesmen need to be looked at, you can't have these kinds of mistakes at this stage. Quote

Joey Lock Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) Ehhwww... England got beat 4-1... Sorry to my English friends (except for Joey; you guys failed more than the USA did!) for their loss. That disallowed goal was fricken crap, honestly. The ref had to have been blind... Who knows, the game might have gone a different way if that goal was spotted. Good world cup, guys. Except I was rooting for Germany. Good job Deustchland! EDIT: Just saw Dunjohn's post... He's right about the camera man . They were very pretty, though. Sorry I couldn't come on yesterday. Anywho, Yes we lost, If Lampard's goal had been allowed, There probably would have been a diffrent boost for the England team but no, damn refs. Anywho, England didn't need to win because we can still sleep soundly in our bed knowing, as Jeremy Clarkson says, If you have any jokes to send to England, please, feel free to send it to "1966, El Alamein Square, 1914-1918, 1939-45, London, WE 1." Overpaid primadonnas!! Capello should be sacked for managing our worst display at a world tournement for years but will cost a fortune to get rid of him! Could not agree with you more. But as well as sacking Capello they should give the boot to half of the over hyped, overpaid, unfit players. (could not call them a team) Sorry I couldn't come on yesterday. Anywho, Yes we lost, If Lampard's goal had been allowed, There probably would have been a diffrent boost for the England team but no, damn refs. We can not live on what ifs. if we played the way we should of played it would not of mattered. Same as Greens slip up, if the rest of them did what they was supposed to do then the odd slip up would not matter. Green could of let that goal in and we should still of won. And if Lampards goal would of been given I would put my house of the fact we would still of lost. We lost to the better team and was lucky to get even that far IMO Quote
homoludens Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I have to say that I felt terribly sorry about Lampards goal - poor decision from the ref. From the German perspective it was an exciting game to watch, not just because "we" won, but also because England-Germany is always a thriller. Hey, I'd rather lose three times to England than once to Serbia. (sorry to any people from Serbia out there). Many games at the world cup have been mediocre so far, yesterday's game was certainly one of the more entertaining ones. And a very fair one, too. Germany's chancest against Argentina don't look so great, but maybe we can work a small miracle. Cheers Frank Quote
Forresto Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 How does it feel now Joey! yea take that England! USA may have gone down but so did you guys. Not so cockey now huh?! Sorry for that Joey but it's a taste of your own medicine. It is sad though that England is out since after USA lost, England was the team I was rooting for. Ahh well, I guess that i'm going to start rooting for Germany. Quote

Anywho, The US went out before England that's all I care about I'm not crying about losing. I already know USA is'nt that good at soccor anyways so i'm not shocked at all. I'm sorry if I came off rude though as I was only meaning for it to be a joke. I'm not one of those Americans who goes around boasting of how great we are, in fact it's kind've insulting when people think that we're all just obnoxious jerks . I was just trying to jokingly reverse your own words on you. It's really just a misunderstanding though since the internet is sometimes a hard place to communicate the right thing if you're not careful. I apoligize if I insulted you though . Quote

It's ok You make it sound like I'm an angry teacher at you! I'm just saying the US went out before the UK so Im happy. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Got up this morning thinking I would see the Brazil-Chile game - and ended up seeing the Netherlands beat Slovakia. Should've stayed in bed. Not that I'm against the Dutch in any way, I just don't root for them. Quote
Zorbas Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I've just read Sunday's New York Post cover. That was funny! Quote
Scouty Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 It's ok You make it sound like I'm an angry teacher at you! I'm just saying the US went out before the UK so Im happy. Keep it clean, please. No need to rub it in any faces now. It's too bad the US lost. I didn't see the game (I was out in the wilderness ), but I hear the US didn't play that great, so, go Ghanaians! I'm curious to see how the Brazil-Chile goes this afternoon! And of course the Iberian Rally tomorrow. Força Portugal ! Quote
MetroiD Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I've just read Sunday's New York Post cover. That was funny! And I've just seen your new avatar! It's... glorious As to the World Cup - FIFA have done all that's within their authority to turn this whole football festival into a travelling circus, and it's been this way for some time now. The World Cup has turned into a tournament of mediocre quality for too many reasons nowadays and this year's edition has just proved that. Quote
posades Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 It's ok You make it sound like I'm an angry teacher at you! I'm just saying the US went out before the UK so Im happy. They went out in the same round, what are you talking about. At least we went out honorably unlike some other teams... Well now that the US, South Korea and England are out, I don't really have a team to root for. I've always liked Spain, but they seem to be the popular pick, so I may go with Uruguay since they were good back in the day. (like 60 years ago ) Quote
Wout Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The Netherlands has won from Slowakija, but it was close. I hope they will be better against Brazil or Chili. Quote
Zorbas Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 And I've just seen your new avatar! It's... glorious All credits go to Canavaro for the avatar. I don't have a Latin name for nothing I suppose. It was my childhood's dream to hold this particular trophy in my hands (from Mexico '86). ....and still is... ....and I did it!!! Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 They went out in the same round, what are you talking about. But you went out a day before so, there is a diffrence Quote
MetroiD Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 But you went out a day before so, there is a diffrence Guys, would you please stop this already? It's childish and there's not even a sense of rubbing it in, in the football banter kind of way, seeing as these teams drew in their direct game and then both bowed out of the Cup in the same round. @ Zorbas: Che Zorbavaaaarroooo... che capitaaanoooo Quote
