ATTENTION TECHNIC FANS! Be sure to make your needs known at THIS Eurobricks Embassy Post . Now's your chance to possibly get a TECHNIC "Direct-to-Consumer" (D2C) Set for Year 2012! See the details below, but please don't respond here -- post your feelings on THAT POST . The deadline is Thursday, June 10th (not June 11th as I mistakenly put in the title), so act soon! TLG wrote:

"Direct is just wrapping up 2011 and we’re now looking forward to 2012 and beyond! I’m hoping you and the ambassadors can help me do a bit of brainstorming for some new model ideas.

"We’re specifically trying to get some insight into what excites fans about our World Icons models. Do you buy sets like the Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal because you view them as amazing ‘parts packs’? Do you only buy specific models in the line because of individual appeal or do you collect the whole series because you appreciate the theme? What would you like to see as the next World Icon?

"We’d also like to hear if there is a particular ultimate set beyond World Icons which you’ve always wished we would make. It could be anything—like the Carousel, Imperial Flagship, Space Shuttle, Town Plan, Beetle, Medieval Market, Sculptures, etc. It could be Technic, Town/CITY, Space, Castle, Mindstorms, Belville, Trains or even something completely new. The sky is the limit!

"Thanks everyone, hope to hear from you soon."

my answers in the other topic

1.) Big lego sets are not a large parts pack for me

2.) whole

3.) Niagara Falls

4.) Model team, big Scale, Flight of the Pheonix Airplane. Both Versions. The freighter could rebuild in a diorama to the Single engine Rescue plane.

5.) i pray for a Big 3 Axle Tractor Truck with 81.6x27 S Balloon tires

Let them please make sure new trains etc. are PF compatible but also release:

- signals

- functional level crossing

- system that is PF compatible but more versatile (I mean, it is not too hard to make more than 4x2 actuators available, but we need suitable controllers)

A summary of a few things I added to the other post:

1. Both - 1 for display if it looks good, especially if it works too, plus more if it's a good parts pack, like Statue of Liberty (but not Eiffel Tower or Taj Mahal)

2. Theme for street sets (depending on price increases), individual for others.

3. Big Ben, but do it properly, with PF motorized clock and a bell chime sound brick.

I added a wish for an ultimate pneumatics set, with at least 10 large and 2 small cylinders, 10 valve switches and lots of compression technology.

Models to include finite state machine robots and variable position pneumatics, to teach a new generation of Technic fans a bit of real engineering!

More ideas books for Technic and Trains too!

The trains are PF-compatible. The motors are at least as good as 9V ones in terms of power, torque and speed regulation. More here.

Having axle holes, they might have uses in Technic MOCs too, and could easily be used in multiple on the same pair of shafts, perhaps pairs of motors with 10M axles through them with an axle extender each side. The only limit is the power to weight ratio of a mobile MOC.

Signals are country-specific. My UK semaphore signals use the Technic flex system, which I'd definitely like to see again! I might have to use the string-with-studs parts for more signals.

A functional level crossing is possible with PF medium motors and light bricks. Try using a worm gear block for the barrier pivot. Controlling it makes a good RCX or NXT project!

The PF system IR Receivers can be cascaded, to control up to 128 bidirectional devices. Diagrams here and others in the folder. An easier way to get more channels, with more immunity from interference would be better, I agree.

I think everyone would really love to see a new Ultimate Technic Supercar. Maybe in the 2000 piece range with new 1:8 scale low profile wheels and tires and new shorter shock absorbers(I think the current ones are just a little too long) along with some new features(Possibly a braking system or new styled transmission) and for Heaven's sake how about a color other than RED.

Someone had made a comment last year about having several different types of suspensions, transmission, wheels, engines, and body styles that would be sold separately that you could mix and match to make your own unique car. I liked that Idea.

I'd love to see a supercar too, but nothing extraordinary. The scale of the Technic Enzo 8653 is a good scale to me. Making it larger means it'd be a lot more expensive (volume = size3 and price ~ volume) and it'd be cool to have such a set for the price of, say, that of 8297. In fact I neither really care about the shock absorbers or any parts that need modification, I'd just love to see how Lego would build such a thing with the current collection of studless parts.

The only part I need are bigger truck wheels. And that would open possibilities for some large sets too.

Now that is something i am wishing for. Just imagine the possibilities.

I'd vote vote a new supercar as well. And indeed NOT a red one. An orange e.g. one would be too cool !!

And as a real fan of PF I'd love to see expansions of this system.

Well Dluders did say not to reply but what the heck!

My dream set is a 2500-3000 piece UCS backhoe like the 8455, but at least twice the size. It would include:

An xl motor (with less gearing down for a higher output speed)

Combined Inline 4 engine/air compressor

Motor driven 4 wheel drive and gearbox

pneumatic steering and pendular front suspention

Longer pneumatics

Rear arm would have all the usual functions plus a pneumatically powered telescopic boom and lateral (side to side) sliding movement

Stableizers

Front bucket would have all the usual functions plus pneumatically powered bucket opening/closing feature

Basically the real thing, just smaller.

A flagship supercar would also be great (one thats larger that the ferrari racers with new, more realistic gearbox, four wheel drive, all round suspention and in a colour that's NOT red and so on!) but this wouldn't have to be a direct to consumer item.

I love the construction stuff, but I am getting sick of cranes, backhoes, and bulldozers. That Hexapod thing looks interesting.

Sorry, bastonnade -- you are about 11 months too late. The inputs were due in June 2010.
