This set looks great! Like others have said, not as "Wow!" as the Toy Shop, but still very nice. I love the little details in this one, especially the skater legs in the snowpile by the ice rink. I am excited to see pieces in the new md. orange-brown and the new Castle doors.

I also wish there was a bit more innovation with the figures (i.e. the Carolers in the toy shop) as these just seem like variations of common City figures :sceptic:.

I also think a re-release of the Toy Shop is very likely, as a couple months ago, it showed up on Target.com, albeit out of stock...

Merry Christmas in July!

I'm more excited about this than the tower bridge. With a few small mods you could easily add it to medievil castle village.Th building itself looks pretty small in my opinion and if it's the same price as the last one i'm gonna be pretty disapointed.

The dormers look great! As do the sweets  Certainly looks like it'll be a hot product when it comes out.

Thank you very much for this picture, whung, and for the price information, Sir von Lego! :classic:

The Winter Bakery looks really beautiful!

Like already mentioned, there wasn't that extremely positive effect when I saw that picture, too.

But I think that this mainly depends on that last year the Winter theme was something completely new and unexpected. In contrary this year we did already await a new Winter set - and it was clear that it either will be a candy shop or a bakery.

But now to the set itself:

Con:

-white owl (why not one of the HP theme?!)

-carriage puts the whole Winter theme in a past period of history (I would prefer a Winter theme which is compatible in time with the current City theme - e. g. a modern snow mower instead of this carriage)

-much too small lake (if one side would be open, this would solve the problem)

-only one kid (but four men)

-stand without anything on it to sell

Pro:

-another building which fits hundred percently with 10199

-nice landscape

-not exactly the same design like 10199

-seven minifigures

-lots of lovely food pieces

-bakery with two floors (perhaps with some small interior upstairs, too?!)

-brilliant display

All in all it's really an amazing set! :oh:

(Whether it'll be outstanding or "only" above average, I'll firstly decide after having seen the first review or/and more pics (esp. of the interior).)

Do you, too, think that there'll be an interior on the second floor, too? What do you think: oven (to open) and a small desk downstairs; bed, table with chair and light brick upstairs?

I think this is a great set, but I won't get it for 4 reasons:

1. I think it will be to expensive for its number of pieces.

2. I don't have enough room with all the other great sets coming out this year  !

3. I don't have the toy shop, so I don't want to buy this and and regret never buying the toy shop :cry_sad: .

4. I don't have ehough money  .

It looks excellent should be a great complemetory set to the Toy Shop, I hope this sells well and that as a result we'll get another one next year.

I do like the skating ponds, though I'm not so sure about the wagon maybe a model t style truck instead?

This looks absolutely lovely!

It's really nice to see that while this has the same feel as the Winter Toy Shop, it is not trying to be a clone with a new coat of paint. The bakery is pretty cute and looks to have a nice selection of cooked goods inside. The ice rink and carriage are perfect additions to any winter scene. I'm very pleased with how this looks.

Whung, thanks for providing us with a picture!

This is really a great set! A very nice addition to my Winter Toy Shop! And I love the minifig stuck in the snow by the frozen pond! It's hilarious! So let's see if there will be another winter set next year. I'd be great. Then we could build our own winter village.

With the toy shop I got the distinct impression that these were supposed to be set in the early 1800s; possibly a small village in Europe around the holidays. I don't think the wagon is really that out of place. I'm almost reminded of Charles Dickens when I see these sets. Perhaps that's just me though.

Man, this is so cool! If they keep releasing one Christmas set a year it will take forever to get a small village!

Just hope you didn't miss out on the Holiday train from 2007

and yes, I hope here will be another set next year!

Ah yes, all those 1800s children with their miniature robot toys... takes me back, it does. :classic:

Hmm, there's a little set that's gotten rather expensive, hasn't it? I'd love to own it for completion's sake, but I don't think I can bring myself to spend the $180 that's being asked for it when I can (and did) buy the much more impressive Emerald Night for about half that!

Carbohydrates, I was just about to post about their toy robots and race cars. I guess this winter village is pretty advanced in the field of toy making but not so much when it comes to actual transportation technology :cry_sad::classic:
