Artifex Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Hail! Last Saturday I bought one Medieval Village Market. Great set, everybody should get at least one. Or three. Things is: There are a couple of pieces missing, and at a Lego store today I got this phone number to call Lego so they can mail me the missing parts. My question is: has this ever happened to of you? Did you call the customer service? Did it work out well? Quote
squiz Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Hasnt happened to me, but quite a few stories on here suggests lego are happy to provide the missing pieces Shame about your MMV Quote
Superkalle Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Absolutely no problem to call Lego Direct. My experience is very positive. They are helpful and will almost always just send out the missing part(s). Quote
HumanPackMule Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 TLC customer service is awesome. I've used them many times in the past and the parts came after less than a week in some cases (some were marked "Time-sensitive-material), so go right ahead with ordering some replacement parts. Quote
AndyC Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Never had a missing piece, but I've had a few slightly deformed ones. Lego customer service have always been very helpful and dispatched replacement parts quickly - even for the 4483 AT-AT that I bought MISB last year. Quote
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Can you give me the number? I'm missing a peice for my Bandit's Hideout set. Quote
Spyder Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I got a deformed bike in 7639 Camper, but I just returned the whole set to the retail store for a new one. Can you give me the number? I'm missing a peice for my Bandit's Hideout set. They'll only ship the piece to you on 2 conditions: 1. The set was MISB when you bought it. (If it was a used set, then they're not gonna help you.) 2. If they even make the part anymore. Quote
Front Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Instead of phoning costumer service, it might be more simple to request the needed pieces at lego.com Quote
prateek Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Instead of phoning, I filled out a form on the internet, and that worked too Quote
Tony Almeida Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I'm supposed to be receiving a replacement sticker sheet for 5973 within the next 2 weeks or so, apparently the kind person who dealt with me decided to make an exception by sending to me as they don't offer the replacement parts service in AUS or NZ. A question - do they replace regular parts (bricks etc.) free of charge? Quote

Yep, no questions asked. I have gotten like 100 pieces from them (I was missing a bag from a Batman set, there were 78 pieces there I think.) and no one ever asked a thing. They go "Sorry!" and give you the pieces for free. They even ask if it's your fault, liek if you lost a piece and they send them out for free too! It's amazing. However people better not abuse the system otherwise that might change and I'll get mad, you won't like me when I'm mad. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I have requested to buy a few pieces, and they will do this occasionally if: a-the piece is not liscensed-starwars,hp,indy etc. b-they have sufficient quantities to cover the free replacements. I say save this for only of you absolutely need it though, and dont abuse it. And dont lie to get free either. They charge very minimal for their pieces when doing the replacement parts, and cheap shipping. The only set I have ever had any missing pieces from was the UCS Death Star. 3 or 4 small grey bricks. Artifex Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 Thanks for all the feedback, folks! Can you give me the number? I'm missing a peice for my Bandit's Hideout set. Here you go: 08457 080010 This is the exact order of the numbers the guy at the Lego store gave it to me. Maybe the second part comes first. I haven't tried yet. Quote

I'm just wondering how making a request to buy pieces would work, because there's no payment section or checkout when you use the replacement parts service. Or would it just be like using Pick-a-brick? Also, I noticed some inconsistencies with the availability of particular parts - a current production set (e.g 5981 Raid VPR) does not seem to have the police minifig torso piece available, yet when I looked up 7770 (Deep Sea Treasure Hunter), which was available back in 2007, every piece is available, including all minifig components and even a printed component.
