Since the Robie House has revealed that Lego isn't afraid to do a very large set (piece count as well as shelf space), I'd love to see the Miami Beach Ocean Drive hotels as a set. four of them in a row, with their colorful palettes and great designs, would look amazing. It could be built on two 16 x 32 plates so you could display just one plate or both depending upon the space you have available. Plus if there ever was an excuse for Lego to make mini-neon lights, this would be it!

I would like seeing Renzo Piano's Centre Pompidou or Oscar Niemeyer's Cathedral of Brasilia.

I was just looking through one of my architecture books the other day and thought both of those could make for really cool LEGO Architecture sets. I think the Centre Pompidou is the more likely of the two.

My absolute favorite, though, are Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian houses, and even though it will probably never happen, I would love to see the Pope-Leighy House as a set.

What I don't want to see is Villa Savoye. I know it's architecturally famous enough that it's probably inevitable, but I just can't stand Le Corbusier.

I would love to see the Sydney Opera House (or anything else from Australia)

And given the Tower Bridge, it would be cool to see some more famous bridges like the Sydney Harbor Bridge or the Golden Gate Bridge.

I've heard rumors of a Sydney Opera House being next for the big sculptural landmark sets (like the Taj Mahal and Tower Bridge). I don't think there's any way the relatively small scale of the Architecture line could do it justice.

I was going to say even though its not an Architecture set the Tower Bridge is a great set.

If you look closely in the background of this photo, found within the Burj Khalifa instruction booklet, you can see prototypes of the Sydney Opera House and Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea.

Yeah, I just don't think it looks any good at that scale. Of course, I've seen several other prototypes in pictures of Mr. Tucker's desk that never came to fruition, so I'm gonna hold out hope that the Opera House will be done as a much larger set with brick-built curves a la the Taj Mahal.

Arlington House[the Robert E. Lee Memorial!] Link

Lego would never make such model because of Lee's views and visions! I hope lego will stay out of politics as long as it's possible... Lego is still only a toy maker...

Partly because I am from Georgia, I would love to see either The Georgia Aquarium or The High Museum of Art get added to the Architecture series. I love the way the world's largest aquarium was designed and The High has an architectural style that is perfect for the LEGO Architecture series.

I have just opened my 21010 Robie House and see what I have found in the massive instruction book:

Look into the background

Neuschwanstein Castle / Schloss Neuschwanstein!!!

There was a survey back in 2010 asking for feedback for 2012 World Icons models and loads of people mentioned Neuschwanstein Castle.

The question now is: Is it coming next year?

The folks over at Brickset seem to think that model is actually this non-Lego model. It sure looks similar, though I hope Lego does make their own, it would be great!

Now he might be associated with the Nazi's but I think Albert Speers designs for the 'Greater Germany' were very interesting, the only one he managed to complete was the 'New Reich Chancellery'

Or something like the Volkshalle:

Would be very interesting even though I'm sure they wouldn't make a set cause of the connections.

Yeah, I saw that Nanoblock model come out earlier this year. It was okay, but a little disappointing (like most knock-off blocks are.)

I think the Chrysler building would make a great Architecture set, as well as the Sydney Opera House, as many have been speculating, though I'd rather see the Opera House on a larger scale, like the Taj. The Golden Gate Bridge would also be neat.

I'd like to see a lot more non-US landmarks, though. A cathedral in Europe would be beautiful - or something like Basilica Sacre Coeur in Paris, France. Or how about a landmark from southeast Asia? There are a lot of gorgeous shinto shrines in Japan (as well as other beautiful architecture.)

My biggest issue with a bunch of the architecture sets is the relatively low part count for the price point. I know licensing can be an issue (in the case of the Frank Lloyd Wright designs), but I'm happy to pay for a higher price point, so long as the parts and design are worth it!

I think something such as Himeji Castle in Japan would make a good Architecture set.

As would the Tower of London.

Or the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, Spain.

Or the Louvre in France.

Or the Petronas Towers in Malaysia.

Something like the Himeji Castle or the Sydney Opera House would be cool, but as a native of New Zealand I would have to say the 'Beehive' is the top of my list:

I think the Sydney opera house would make a fine model in the range, though I suspect it would need to be in the upper price range to get the size we'd want.

Based on the current votes on the Architecture website, looks like the next set may be Habitat 67, which would be impressive as a model.

What I'd really love to see is a sub theme of "ancient architecture" featuring a landmark from each f the great ancient cultures:

Egypt - Karnak, first pylon (lets face it, iconic as the pyramids are, it would make for a sucky model. Unless you did all three pyramids and the nearby workers village as a single complex) or Philae temple

Edit: thanks to spencer_R, just noticed this rendition of Philae temple. I think this could work as a series!

6523216547_5f94394748_d.jpg

Greece - parthenon

Rome - colosseum ( I like the idea of having instructions for an 'as it is now' and a reconstructed version)

Also maybe a Mesopotamian, meso-American and Oriental landmark model (my ancient history knowledge doesn't go that far, so feel free to enlighten me as to what ancient monuments would be suitable)

As a fan of architecture and ancient hitstory, I think it would be appropriate to have models that show how we gained the knowledge of architecture. I'd buy these in a second.

I love the White House the Lego Architecture came up with. However, do think TLG should make a U.S. Capitol building? Also, has anyone done a moc for the U.S. Capital building?

And in case any European doesn't know what the U.S. Capitol Building is, than here's a picture:

Thank You,

Based on another thread, a lot of folks were talking about buildings/landmarks they would love to see made. No real rules here, just post your top 5 sets you would like to see made in the Architecture line.

Here is mine, culled from places I have visited.

1. Chichen Itza - obviously a major landmark, and while large in scope (many more buildings there aside from the main pyramid) I think Lego could do this, do the main pyramid and the section of columns next to it and see what else.

2. Taipei 101 - really cool building that essentially looks like Chinese take out boxes stacked on each other, but trust me it is way cooler in person.

3. Dublin's General Post Office - As an Irish descendant, this building has a ton of history behind it, likely not a huge appeal for the masses but does to me.

4. Golden Gate Bridge - not sure how you would scale this, but San Fran has some really cool architecture and this is the most well known (didn't think Alcatraz would go over)

5. Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles - I just really liked this building, unsure of how to create it in Lego though, but feel they could

Bonus: I would love to see a ballpark line, having grown up with baseball, I know these can be done, there are actually businesses out there that do build them, but places like Fenway, Wrigley, Lambeau, etc...they are so architecturally cool that I have faith TLG could do it right.

The LEGO Architecture Wishlist already exists. Will merge....

... and done.
