Siegfried Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 What's up with the public/private poll options? Where would we need private polls here? I was thinking for contests, but even that seems unnecessary with the post-vote method. It's a board feature; ask Invision. For what it's worth, I can see the use in it. Sometimes people are scared to reveal their opinions without the ability to be anonymous.
Ricecracker Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 But does the current (past) poll function not already assume anonymity? As far as I can tell, it doesn't say the names of everyone who voted... Not trying to start an argument here, just curious.
Siegfried Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 But does the current (past) poll function not already assume anonymity? As far as I can tell, it doesn't say the names of everyone who voted... The votes are recorded by the board, but there's no easy way for anyone (including admins) to extract that data. I'm not sure if it even records the actual choices. New polls (such as this one) can, if the creator chooses, be set to store and reveal on request names. Did I answer the question? Not trying to start an argument here, just curious. I know. Nothing wrong with curiosity.
Ricecracker Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Yes, you did. Edited August 23, 2010 by Ricecracker
RoryoCox Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I'm just wondering what is Mr E about when looking at members who have birthdays today. Everyday there is 1 or 2 Mr E's. Does this show up for banned members?

Does this show up for banned members? Well it doesn't happen everyday, but it is common enough. The "Mr E" is a mod I did; it hides the names of people who broke the rules and joined up for EB when they were too young. It was getting a bit absurd having someone celebrate their 15th birthday on a adult site... (Mr E = Mystery. Yes, I think I am funny.)
RoryoCox Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Thanks for telling me. It was quite strange seeing 13 and 14 year olds birthdays being announced. It is a good mod.
peterab Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) (Mr E = Mystery. Yes, I think I am funny.) We all think you're funny too ... just in a different way Whoops I'm not suposed to poke the tiger mods walrus am I, please don't ban me. Seriously seems like a needed feature short of going on a banning purge. Edited August 26, 2010 by peterab

Eskallon Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Where did the line between the pinned topics and normal topics go, it vanished like before ?
Zorbas Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Where did the line between the pinned topics and normal topics go, it vanished like before ? It's still there from what I can see.
Eskallon Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) It's still there from what I can see. Well, this laptop is new to me so the settings might be different but I looked around in my settings and found no reason to why it is like this Edited September 21, 2010 by Eskallon
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted September 21, 2010 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted September 21, 2010 Well, this laptop is new to me so the settings might e different but I looked around in my settings and found no reason to why it is like this Strange, it's still there for me. Which browser (+version) are you using?
Zorbas Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I'd like to ask something since I'm curious about it. When I go to my (or to any as it seems) profile page and click on the "Find Posts" line on the top left, it only shows the last 500 posts. Is there a way we could track all of our posts just like the way it was in the previous board? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way we could track all of our posts just like the way it was in the previous board? Hmmm, I thought I had a solution, but the Advanced Search (for posts by yourself) also gives a maximum of 500 posts. You can split it up by limiting your search to certain time periods though. Seems like there is no easier way.

I've tried it and although that it takes some time it works just fine. Thanks I guess the old feature no longer exists.
Eskallon Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Strange, it's still there for me. Which browser (+version) are you using? Internet Explorer, How do I find the version? I found out that the line is there for me on Safari for windows so it must be IE. Also I am unable to download any new updates as this version of IE on my laptop is locked. (It is a work computer)
prateek Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I thought it was just me, but a lot of people have been having these problems: 1) A lot of images just come up as Posted Image 2) Some links people provide come up as HTTP searches. Example this post. I have no idea what this is.
peterab Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 2) Some links people provide come up as HTTP searches. Example this post. I have no idea what this is. The link is bad in that example, there is a doubled http section in the link (which causes the searching to happen).

Big Cam Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 So I finally get used to the 1x2 bricks next to thread titles, and I learn the colors, and now they've changed to single studs. Can I blame Shadows? Also I noticed, the locked and moved icon are still the old bricks. Any other changes coming or happening?

Every other skin is normal for me.

Can I blame Shadows? Also I noticed, the locked and moved icon are still the old bricks. Any other changes coming or happening? Right, the old ones were temporary icons quickly thrown together, the new ones are much nicer. No, you may not blame me, that was Hinck's work. And other changes ... wait and see. I think this is only for the Hero Factory Skin. Every other skin is normal for me. They'll be everywhere eventually.
prateek Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I liked the "old" ones. They were simple and easy to read. The new ones are so complicated! (two studs height vs 1 stud height)
