Congrats Rufus, you're a star all over EB!!

I've seen you in action, you're a good player!

If the Dragon Lord over there didn't put a minimum of 4 games (which I can understand, honestly)

That's it?

I suppose you have to draw the line somewhere.

Yay! Congrats Rufus, it is well-earned!

I suppose you have to draw the line somewhere.

It's harder than you think. Four games can take six to eight months to complete, and then you have to survive for more than a few days to prove yourself.

Congratulations Rufus! You are a shining star in the recent Mafia games, and especially working with you closely on The Forest together, I truly believe you had excel in this area and have proven to be worthy of this deserving new tag! It was not given by chance and it was actually given to you for your sheer outstanding performance!

I used to think you had to host a game to get the gun tag. I've been through 5 mafia games, lasted through most of them, but I don't think I deserve it yet. I consider myself a good player but not as good as some. /off topic

No, of course not. :hmpf: It's a necessary, not a sufficient condition.

The Mafia Appreciation tag is a prestigious award given to a member who has demonstrated quality participation over the course of at least 4 EB Mafia Games to a notably high degree of excellence, whether playing or hosting. Tags will be awarded between games and announced in the General Discussion thread. Tags are awarded at the discretion of an informal select panel of Games staff, headed by the Games Moderator.

Thanks everyone for the kind words

Congratulations, Rufindel, and welcome to the club.

Ssshhhh! That name is a secret, for now :look:

Congrats Rufus! I'm surprised it took this long, and I hope I get to play on the same team as you some more in the future.

You and I have a good scum record :devil_laugh:

Thanks Cam!

Thanks Fangy!

Congratulations! From day one, you've been a sneaky, hard working player. You earned it :sweet:

Haha, sneaky eh.... just because I've drawn Scum three frickin' times out of four :hmpf: Cheers, def! I'm looking forward to playing one of your fine games again :drunk:

I read (it's so foreign) that apparently the new way of winning mafias is to be on the winning team, not just to survive. Where's the list of this? Can't seem to find it. (Or maybe I'm just not reading. That's probably more likely.)

Actually, that's been the live mafia standard for a long time, it just wasn't the way we did it here, due to the difference in play style.

There are a lot of factors to be considered before a final decision is made. On the one hand, we got rid of lists yet this would just create a new one. At the same time, we have to factor in how it changes the game dynamic in a forum setting where dead players could, in an effort to win, continue to influence the game after death.

It's tricky. Just stay tuned. :dsweet:

Who would do that? That's cheating...

Cheating? You had more posts than most of us in our Writeboard.

So is using PMs during a game that doesn't allow them, but you can bet it happens. :sceptic:

I just talk to hosts usually.

Once I die, they usually spend the rest of the game talking to me.

Cheating? You had more posts than most of us in our Writeboard.

It's funny because it's true.

Actually that's totally untrue. I read more of it than you did, but I stayed pretty well out of your business. You're insinuating that I cheat when I host? Guess you won't be playing in any more of my games. This is seriously rude and insulting.

It's funny because it's true.

Don't start with me. Ask the people who actually read the writeboard. I didn't interject unless asking for night actions or answering a direct question. And telling Pie to read things. Maybe that is more than Pie posted, since he was useless...

No, Shadows, that's despicable. I don't try to influence games after I die, anymore... , but seriously, posting something like this makes it seem like it's OK. Most people I know don't meddle in games once they're dead and if anyone's doing it, they're cheaters and should be ashamed of themselves. If someone has to cheat to play a game, they shouldn't be playing it. And as far as I knew, people didn't PM each other during Quarry's game. And how would you know Shadows, you were scum in that game, so you were allowed to PM. So no, I can't bet it happens unless the person is such a loser they have to cheat at an online strategy game. :hmpf:

I thought he was referring to the dead whiteboard, I never saw the scum one. Duh. :hmpf:

I didn't know you ever did, we're never on the same side.

To you, maybe, but I don't see how anyone else could interpret it that way. If it was ok, it wouldn't matter and I wouldn't mention it. It's clearly not ok, which is why I object a bit to the concept of team win, it could easily promote cheating in this form.

Most people I know don't meddle in games once they're dead and if anyone's doing it, they're cheaters and should be ashamed of themselves.

My point was about PMing during games that don't allow it, and I stand by the belief that it happens. That has nothing to do with being dead in a normal game.

And as far as I knew, people didn't PM each other during Quarry's game. And how would you know Shadows, you were scum in that game, so you were allowed to PM. So no, I can't bet it happens unless the person is such a loser they have to cheat at an online strategy game. :hmpf:

Now you're worrying me because I wasn't referring to Quarry's game at all, so I have to wonder why you are making that particular assumption. :sceptic:

On the subject of Quarry's game, the only unfair influence I saw in the whole thing was by him. It's fine to state that there are no clues in the pics, but if someone wants to assume there are after that, butt the megabluck out as a host and let them. Among other things, it's a good scum tactic that shouldn't be denied to them. Otherwise, I had no objections to anything there.

I'm worried too and I'm up too late and I should've just gone to bed. That's the last one I remember that didn't allow PMs. That's not really standard anymore. So I'm not sure why you referenced it. Either way, I love you. :wub_drool: Except when I hate you. :wub_drool: which I actually still love you during. :wub_drool:

I thought he was referring to the dead whiteboard, I never saw the scum one. Duh. :hmpf:

Well, he never died in that game, so how would he have seen the dead one. I was very tight-lipped with all three writeboards, especially the dead one.

I didn't know you ever did, we're never on the same side.

Check the discussion thread for Witch Hunt.

Because you blatantly say it's not possible so it encourages people to break the rule! We weren't allowed to PM during Belville and nobody did. I can't remember another game where it wasn't allowed and yes it did happen and that's why PMs started being allowed, but as we grow as a community of mafia gamers, we have a stronger honor code than we used to.

someone recently mentioned running another game without PMs. Or something. I don't even know now, but it's a valid point. If anyone runs a game like that.

Whatever.

Well, yes, I'll admit that I went too far there. Still hate people's tendency to look for clues in the pictures though.

Congratulations you three, you really deserve it more than any other, you're star players, I hope to be as good of mafia players a you three, quantity isn't everything in mafia games, or I'd have my tag.

Congrats you guys, you're better than most.

Congrats, you three. All of your performances in the most recent game were outstanding. Keep up the good work, and I hope I get the privilege of playing with you in more EB mafia games. :sweet:

*cough* Though I thought Scouts had already earned his stripes.
