Pandora Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 But here is 'tomorrow' today! (27th of April / past 11am) Maybe in Belgium but this is an international site. It's still "yesterday" in Hawaii (don't know if there's anyone from Hawaii around..) and not far off "tomorrow" in New Zealand. Plus there's inconvenient stuff like real-life and work and so forth to fit in.
Peanuts Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Sign-ups will go up tomorrow. Only the Mafia School game or also Quarry's game?
XimenaPaulina Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 But here is 'tomorrow' today! (27th of April / past 11am) Patience young padawan.. Pandora is right, recognize the time-zone differences, and even if the sign-up is moved by a few hours or even days, do understand that the host(s) are doing this on their free time and the least we could do for them is to wait patiently and not put any undue pressure on them.
Hinckley Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 But here is 'tomorrow' today! (27th of April / past 11am) The signup will be up 12 hours from now. I wouldn't go out of your way to annoy me any further...
Brickdoctor Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 (don't know if there's anyone from Hawaii around..) Macoco is from Hawaii, I know. Only the Mafia School game or also Quarry's game? His post was talking about the Mafia School game. (but I don't know for sure)
Ro87n Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 The signup will be up 12 hours from now. I wouldn't go out of your way to annoy me any further... I'd like to sign up

smittyfan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Yeah, we graduates want our turn making fun of the newbies. YEAH!!!!! Bring it on! Naw, just kidding... it's hard when you're new and figuring things out. We won't be too cruel to ya'll.
Brickdoctor Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Naw, just kidding... it's hard when you're new and figuring things out. We won't be too cruel to ya'll. Does that mean we can't make fun of them if they're confirmed by a Cop to be Town but act so scummy and yell at another trusted Townie to the point that were it not for the Cop everyone would vote them off without a second thought?
smittyfan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Does that mean we can't make fun of them if they're confirmed by a Cop to be Town but act so scummy and yell at another trusted Townie to the point that were it not for the Cop everyone would vote them off without a second thought? Uhmm... It greatly depends on the circumstances. Sometimes one who 'looks' like a 'trusted townie' to some, isn't necessairily innocent. A Vanilla Townie doesn't know who they can really trust. It's best to trust no one, but rely on your own instincts until you find someone who you know you can trust. and it doesn't help matters when the supposed 'confirmed innocent trusted townie' resorts to namecalling and be-littling.
XimenaPaulina Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 and it doesn't help matters when the supposed 'confirmed innocent trusted townie' resorts to namecalling and be-littling. Still can't get over it? It's within the game, no personal insult intended, and no need to hold a grudge after months have passed. And clearly you haven't seen other mafia games where more 'be-littling' terms are used (within the context of the game). At the end of the day, it's just a game, and if you carry hard bitter feelings after it, it is no longer my problem. Sorry for this off-topic comment.
def Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 and it doesn't help matters when the supposed 'confirmed innocent trusted townie' resorts to namecalling and be-littling. Speaking as someone who has received and given heaps of abuse in mafia games.... Get over it. It's not personal, unless you hold onto it and make it personal. ie. Someone calls you a moron. You have two options: 1) You outplay them and show they were either playing scum or were really the moron 2) hold a grudge and prove to people that you were/are a moron I only loosely followed Mafia School, so I don't really know what your frustration is, but the phrase "It's only a game" will do wonders for you in the long term

Wasn't meaning an attack or anything... just that things aren't always as they may seem. One can never be to careful to trust anyone, or assume someone's scum based off not communcating in certain ways. Speaking as someone who has received and given heaps of abuse in mafia games.... Sure it is just a game, and I realize that, and sometimes the only way outta something is to fight for your life. (literally) Sometimes arguments arise or things can get ugly, but still I think we should try to be somewhat civilized and not resort to defending our case by swearing and namecalling. We're all adults here. (or should be)
XimenaPaulina Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Wasn't meaning an attack or anything... Then why bring back an old issue, striking the text through, where you could have just stopped with your first statement? Clearly, you can't get over it, you wouldn't have brought that up in the first place if you've really moved on. Honestly, I'm completely pissed off. I don't want to confront anybody, especially a "Lady", but bringing up a dead issue, making an 'in-game role-playing' a personal grudge, really irritates me. I've apologized to you after what happened, and still up to this day you constantly bring that issue up?!? Talk about maturity... and sportsmanship. We should be civilized enough to realize it's just a game, and no matter what happens inside it - it's all within the confines of the game. Whatever happens inside the game, stays there. You drop everything after it's all over. That is what mature adult should do. Sorry once again Mods/Admins, I just have to air my side. As long as this girl brings up this immature old issue, I will be here to defend myself.

Brickdoctor Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I think this means I owe everybody an apology for starting the conversation in the first place.
XimenaPaulina Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Good sportmanship can also mean turning the other cheek yourself in a situation like this. I would, if the person deserves it, But in this case, no.

Out of the dozens of forum sites I've joined this is the first that's ever really gotten this 'brutal'. So far they all have had rules against cursing, swearing, and even politics and religion. Some of them are even as strict as not allowing any outside links being posted without moderator approval. I'm really not meaning to harbor any grudges or anything, but just trying to get used to it. just trying to figure things out....

Ok, so shall we consider everything then as water under the bridge now? I hope this is the last time this issue will come out.
smittyfan Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Ok, so shall we consider everything then as water under the bridge now? I hope this is the last time this issue will come out. Sure. (Hey maybe next time we can be scum buddies!)
sok117 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I know I've been called stupid/idiotic several times in mafia games, (mostly by Hinckley ) most of the time hes right, but it's best just to act grown up about it (or not)
JimBee Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I hope Quarryman will come along with that mafia game soon, I'm having withdrawal symptoms.
XimenaPaulina Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Sure. (Hey maybe next time we can be scum buddies!) Good. I hope Quarryman will come along with that mafia game soon, I'm having withdrawal symptoms. Same here, I must have my mafia game fix soon.
Brickdoctor Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Same here, I must have my mafia game fix soon. Sign up for Fabuland Housewives. Even if we get chosen, it wouldn't be Paradisa 2 without you!
XimenaPaulina Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Sign up for Fabuland Housewives. Even if we get chosen, it wouldn't be Paradisa 2 without you! Yeah, while I would like to have a reunion with you guys, I'd like to give my 'potential' spot for a new player. I'll just take my chances in Quarryman's game, even if I know majority of the experienced players will most likely sign-up too.
