Nannan Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Hey guys, Tyler and I are pleased to present a collaboration project, our best work so far. This diorama measures over 6 feet by over 5 feet, and we have been working on it for the past two months. Tyler built the alien wasteland, and I made the biosphere processing facility. My favorite aspects of this build are the details that bring life to this creation including lights, motion, and even music that comes from built-in iPod speakers. You can see most of it in this video. If you're coming to Brickworld, you can experience it all in person. We hope you enjoy Containment. You can see all photos in the Containment Flickr group. -Nannan Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 It's WTF ? and OMG ? at the same time !!!! This is so smegging AWESOME ! Where did the tan roadways come from and that crashed spaceship is just so COOL ! 'Nannan', you and your friend have been busy eh ? Dam one the best sci-fi MOC's I have seen in a long time - I'm a conformist! ! Quote
vexorian Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Holy.. the scale of that is crazy. And it has light and sound? Are you sure you got official authorization to make things that are so awesome? Cause I doubt it. I mean, for god's sake, it has a crashed ship that's bigger than most of the ships I have had, and it is not even 1/4 of the thing... Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 WOW.... This has got to be one of the best, if not the best, large-scale Sci-fi MOCs I have seen in my life... My limited mind cannot fully comprehend how much amount of time, effort, and resources you put in to finish this masterpiece. Great great great job guys! Quote
prateek Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Woah. That's all I am able to say right now. I'm literally drooling because of that video... Quote
ProducePrincess Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I never expected you to present something this big, usually your creations are somewhat smaller. When you were working on this with tyler were you there with him building all the parts or was it a few visits and lots of emails? Quote
ILikePi Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 WOW, that is way too cool for words! It's simply stunning with all of the tiny little details all around. My favorite part is how you integrated nnenn's piece (the mini rubber band holder) into a statue being chiseled. That is way too brilliant. This may be one of the best MOCs I've ever laid my eyes on! Quote
Belchher Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Wow, that is just awesome. The colour scheme, the trash conveyor, the green "river". Looks like a great setting for that huge walking city somebody made to wander to for a vist! Quote
LuxorV Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Amazing MOC! Congratulations to Tyler and you for building and even thinking such a great dispay I love the vibe I'm getting from this, both as a whole scene and as single parts, like the crashed ship, the biosphere processing facility and the monorail. The waste deposit with the conveyor belt from the main facility and the toxic river (with the tubes from the ship possibly taking in and discharging 'water') are really well done and add to the overall feel of a planet which was either already desert and is being terraformed or has been turned to its actual state by over-exploitation of its natural resouces. Have fun at Brickworld Quote
the Inventor Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Awesome Moc, it's really just mind blowing. I really like the monorail and the crashed ship. Some bits would be excellent on there own but together in this diorama it is truly epic. the Inventor Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Amazing build, truely a masterpiece! Quote
squidman85 Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Amazing!I very like the use of the Bionicle can and crashed spaceship.Colors are also good. Quote
sok117 Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Well after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I had some time to really look closely at all these pics and I can say without a doubt that an epic creation such as this one comes along maybe once or twice in a lifetime, This scene is sooooo awesome, I love every thing about it, the monorail, the duplo ball, the aliens, the rover, the tracks, the river, all the little details, the power functions, the architecture, and all the scraps and containers just to name a few. This Is very Epic and well deserving of a frontpage because I feel the whole EB community needs to see this, but I'm not a mod, sorry. I could spend days admiring and playing with this moc, (and I'm well into my teens, so thats saying something). Once again, this scene is awesome, it reminds me of a cross between fallout, star wars and doctor who for some reason. I could spend a good three more hours going into detail about all the things I like but I feel as though I need to see a psychiatrist because this thing just blew my mind. Quote
Jippon Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Holy moly! That thing is awesome... really, I cant stop looking at all the details. Simply amazing! Quote
Primus Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 The wrecked spaceship is what really put this over the top for me. That detail is just outstanding. Quote
TheCrimsonTrooper Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Are there even words to describe this? I'm looking throught the dictionary. Ah, these two should work: Ineffably Awsome Quote
CP5670 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 What an epic creation. It's full of unique concepts and clever usage of unusual parts, ranging from the brick-built monorail track to the basketball field pieces. You have even combined a GBC setup inside it. My favorite part is probably the conveyor unloading the trash. That effect looks remarkably convincing in the video. I noticed the lone Kranxx in the corner as well. What's he doing with that scorpion? Quote
BrickClick Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Words cannot describe this creation so I give you a smiley of what my face looks like right now: Quote
Nannan Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks guys, I enjoyed reading the comments and I'm glad many like it. We had fun at Brickworld and plan on doing future collaborations! -Nannan Quote
Apollo Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 My God... it's full of green! The immense grandeur of this display cannot be put into words. Never before have I seen a MOC that shouts "industrial" so well... nor uses Power Functions any more ingeniously! The imagination put into this creation gives me hope that LEGO has endless possibilities... brilliant work Legohaulic and Nannan Z!! Wow!! Quote
