See, on this is one of those times when you know a website is totally wrong. The price conversion is correct, but lemme show you in US prices our set guidelines:

USD

8083 Rebel Battlepack: around $17 Ha! Hahahaha! Never! Not in your dreams! I would never pay over $13 and never will for one measley battlepack!

8084 Imperial Battlepack: around $17 Ha! Again, there is no way. Lego has never changed the price of battlepack and never will, and most certainly not be $4

8085 Freeco Speeder: around $32 And this is smaller than the battlepacks! No way is it more than $20.

8086 Droid Tri-Fighter: around $32 Meh, maybe, still more like $20.

8087 TIE Defender: around $60 No! 350 some pieces and $60? It's never been done as far as i know. It is $50 at the most.

8088 ARC-170: around $84 Again... seems a wee bit much. If wee meant way.

Although the conversion's right, the prices are all wrong! I've never even heard of 2ttoys. And these prices are outrageous. Again, I really don't believe this is right. This site is sort of like Toywiz.com, they put things out on preorder the earliest and sell them crazily overpriced.

Once we here from Amazon though...

Thanks clonecommanderdelta7 for the price conversion!

That sounds about right for ausi prices but Legolas is right, the other prices are all wrong, well at least the US ones are.

Thanks anyways for it, I knew what the BPs would be priced at, but not the ARC or Tie or the Tri, so thanks :sweet:

Yes, though it doesn't make sense conversion-wise, US prices usually have around the same numbers as Euros (which is why people rightfully are annoyed that LEGO is so much more expensive in Europe). What I mean by same numbers is that if the price is 22 Euros, it's also 21 or 22 dollars. Just go to LEGO.com and switch the countries around at shop at home and you'll see that this is true. LEGO does not base prices on currency conversions.

Posted

Yea conversion dont work that well with lego. In New Zealand we have to pay so much for it. For example, the Tantive IV is $149.99US and over here it's $349.99NZ. $349.99NZ converted to US is $252 which is incredibly overpriced. Buying off bricklink would be annoying because the shipping for it would be so much it wouldnt be worth buying then

Posted

I;m sorry, I didn't mean to get everybody on an "it's overpriced here" kick. There is a different topic for that. I was just showing that the prices on this website are not wrong at all, but that we cannot estimate other countries' prices based on currency conversions.

Um isn't this supposed to be a rumour thread, not price rant, there is a thread for price ranting.

And yes i see the irony, but its stupid to use a site for price conversion when its now October 1st, and the sets wont be out for at least 2 more months.

Do we really need this price conversion discussion every time a new wave of sets is upon us?

The prices in different regions of the world cannot be converted.

I have no problem with price speculation, but I wont tolerate it taking over a rumor topic such as this one.

The prices have been given in Euro.

Now go check similar sets on S@H and compare the prices in your region and you'll have a rough estimate on the price.

I know some what on and off topic, but as someone posted in the CW season 2 thread, there is a new preview for the season which has Ki adi Mundi in it, i wonder if he would be in with the CTT, although the scene looks like its from Geo2 battle.

I hope one of the unmentioned sets for 2010 will have Cad Bane, we got the Sep shuttle with gunray and he wasnt really in it that much, and Bane seems to be in season 2.

Yes, the Aussie prices seem correct. Unless the prices go up, unlikely but possible. :cry_sad:

Lego is trigger-happy when it comes to pricing so they are incorrect in the US and GBP, so ignore them. Sorry for this inconvienience, but pricing (not ranting) is something that plays a crucial role in the new sets part.

Why?

Look at the sets, consider regular pricing and you should know what the sets will cost.

It's not like TLG changes their pricing with 50-80% each year...

It wouldn't surprise me, since they made such a big deal out of him in the commercials leading up to the season finale. Maybe Ziro as well? They have the Jabba mold already, gathering dust.

Thank you very much for this price information, Future 74! :classic:

Since the prices on this website seem to be lower than when you buy the sets regular (at least in Germany) the prices will surely be higher.

And since the Rebeltroopers BP includes a big vehicle and the Snowtrooper BP a lot of accessory I bet that they'll be (each one) 15 Euros (the price for which the Rebel Scout Speeder and the Imperial Dropship are sold at the moment).

It's strange that the Landspeeder doesn't appear on this list. So I conclude that it'll be a special set which will be not available in every toy shop and which will firstly come out in March (like this year's Ashoka's Starfighter).

I certainly didnt mean to start a price rant, but give everybody an idea of what to expect based on an "official" source.

I assumed everybody knew that European prizes cant be calculated for other parts of the world using a converter, as this has been mentioned lots of times in the appropriate topic.

You're welcome and you are right, this company/website sells the new released sets for less than S@H does, although not all of the time.

In this case I think they will, just a few euros cheaper.

Not sure on this, but you could be right.

They had something similar with the Solar Sailor, it stood on the website for a long time prior to release with no price and even after release and has now disappeared.

Oh yeah, they could have Cad Bane, Ziro the hutt, and assassin droid and have them on that flying car thing like at the end of the episode.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure we'll see a Cad Bane set next year, perhaps with his own ship.

Yes, and they also have a Jar-Jar Binks mold and a Bib Fortuna mold. Don't even get me started on the Pit Droids. (Yes, I know they're brick-built!)

Anyways, back on topic - how can the ARC possibly be 100gbp? Price seems a bit steep for something with about 400-500 pieces. Fifty quid perhaps? One hundred seems incredibly overpriced! (off topic, I know)

Did anyone think that the CTT might be from Geonosis? It could come with some Geonsians, clone troopers, Ki Adi Mundi and his second in command. Because I saw Ki Adi Mundi fighting Geonosians on Geonosis in the trailor.
If you look at the video at 0:38/37 you can see a CTT blowing up on Geonosis. :classic: I hope it has Ki Adi Mundi.

P.S. I can't wait to see clearer pics of the landspeeder so we can throw this Grandian crap away.
