November 19, 200915 yr What's so special about 2011 that KimT and you tease us with?? You can't have seen prelim pics of set, it's far too early IMHO. But you have seen something for sure. Some set names? Can we have a hint? Now hold your horses for awhile. No one exept the modelbuilders and some more have probably seen any sets of 2011 for now. That is just words we have heard. It might in our eyes be bad compared to this year. But it sounds promissing, doesn´t it?I agree with ADHO15, it would be silly to put a main character with a name in battlebacks, then we would all have 10 General Veer'sSo you are thinking 10 each of the battlepacks as well? There will be a race for those sets. Will probably be the best sold battlepacks ever.
November 19, 200915 yr Those look pretty good. I wonder if they'll use the face from Fight on the Flying Wing for the 'Rebel Commander'... Anyhoo, I am a little sceptical that they would use the face from the ARC in an Original Trilogy set. It makes no sense. Veers looks great, and his torso design will be very useful. Hopefully he'll have a new face too! Thanks for those pictures!
November 19, 200915 yr So you are thinking 10 each of the battlepacks as well? There will be a race for those sets. Will probably be the best sold battlepacks ever. Oh ya, I only got about 7 of the stormtroper battlebacks, but I just picked up some more individual stormtroopers. The Hoth rebels are brand new, adn I want to make sure I have a small army.
November 19, 200915 yr The Shuttle pretty much is the one seen in Ep. III from the end of the film where Palpy looks and find a wounded Anakin. They both will be nice to have I think Finally! I have waited for a Theta-class for years! I don't know if anybody noticed but the Imperial Commander (General Veers ?) has a new torso print - it's not the regular Imperial Officer print. It looks like the armour he wears on Hoth. Could it be the Agents armour piece?
November 19, 200915 yr I think he's supposed to be a generic commander, being in a battlepack. He's wearing armour like he should have been in the AT-AT. Why not Veers in the imp. battle pack and someone like Wedge in the rebel battle pack. These packs must be filling that gap between the walkers beginning the attack and Vader walking into the base, as the rebels still try in vein to fight off the snowtroopers who on foot and speederbike are trying to storm Echo Base (of course they do). Veers could be in the battle pack as he is a type of Patton, a front line general and not one to sit back and let others take the glory from him - tough and hard. Wedge like Luke are just about the only Rouge pilots to make it though the first series of 3 films alive and he's on Hoth at Echo Base, what will prove or disprove this will be a better picture of the pilots helmet to show who it really is. Wedge is also a loyal fighter for the rebels who tries going that extra mile, and I guess he would also fight on foot as well as in a snowspeeder or X-wing.

As stated before, it is likely because it is a battlepack. No sense in mass producing characters that there was only one of. LEGO knows you are going to buy more than one of these to build an army. There were not 65 General Veers in the movie, now were there?
November 19, 200915 yr Why not Veers in the imp. battle pack and someone like Wedge in the rebel battle pack. Main characters don't appear in battlepacks, since they are supposed to be generic character army builders. EDIT: Big Cam beat me to it... ...again... Edited November 19, 200915 yr by filip skywalker

November 19, 200915 yr Thank you very much for the new pics of the BPs, Oky Wan Kenobi! The two BPs look really brilliant! I really have to buy two of each! I think he's supposed to be a generic commander, being in a battlepack. He's wearing armour like he should have been in the AT-AT. It's great to see that we supposably get a really new type of Imp. Officer! Do I see wrong or could it be the armor from the Agents theme they use for him? The Snowspeeder is already mentioned. Thank you very much for this information, Ras 74! I didn't think that the Wampa Attack will be getting such a big set. So it's even very sure that it'll include the Wampa's cave, the Wampa, some sort of animal skeletton, Luke, a Snowspeeder and two Rebel Pilots (perhaps one with the helmet from the BP and hopefully even one with one more new different helmet)? About a Tauntaun in the set I'm not sure - what do you think? 2010 is really getting a great year for us OT fans! Klaus-Dieter

LEGO knows you are going to buy more than one of these to build an army. There were not 65 General Veers in the movie, now were there? So, everyone is going to buy 65 of them, I don't think so. Remember most kids may buy 2 or 3 packs of each maybe not that many. Beside who said you have 65 Veers, his head could be used as a rebel or an evil leader in a castle, agents, city or what ever scene - it's Lego you do whatever you like. My son has a Mr. Crabbs Clone Trooper to state my point. Veers and Wedge are charactors yes, but not main ones they appear only briefly at times and Veers for a few minutes in ESB. Like I said we'll just have to wait until we get even clearer pictures when they are posted.

About a Tauntaun in the set I'm not sure - what do you think?Klaus-Dieter I really doubt we'll be getting the thing's bolded. There wasn't any snow speeders in the scene till after Han rescued Luke. We are more likely to get a 'holo obi wan' than a ship, i predict Wampa, luke, tauntaun cave and skeleton To comment on the 'veers clones' It's just going to be a generic Pilot/Officer. Remember we got a generic Rebel pilot in the Snowspeeder sets when we all know it's supposed to be Dak. Edited November 19, 200915 yr by simonjedi
November 19, 200915 yr Nope, as mentioned I don't have any pics of them.I was just allowed to have a short look in a retailer's catalog. She wouldn't allow me to take pics or borrow the catalog. WOW! lots of new posts! Thats Okay Kim just asking. I think Veers might be the imerial officer, though he may not. I don't really mind. The fig choice for both BPs is alot better then 2008. CommanderFox
November 19, 200915 yr Do I see new rebel helmets? Yup. I'm really excited for these, and I'm glad TLG decided to make them after. Much better than the pilot helmets.
November 19, 200915 yr AAAGH!!! So many new posts! Someone said this before but it got passed over, so for clarification- that 'accessory' on the far right Rebel is just his visor pulled down. We need to look more closely! I was fooled at first too. It sure looks like the Imperial Officer has an Agents body armor piece, but why would he??? We need to see what the Ice Cutter does (there was something about a cargo box?...) before we judge it as another usual crappy battle pack vehicle.
November 19, 200915 yr Okay, just to make things clear here: The new imperial shuttle, is it going to be based on Clone Wars and not the original trilogy? :( In that case, I'm buying one of the older sets.
November 20, 200915 yr The Imperial set is just . The speeder doesn't look as good as I thought and the little trench thing look like crap. The only figure I kind of like is the Imperial Officer. The AT-AT pilot's helmet still looks awful. On the other hand the Rebel set is excellent. The Ice cutter is canon, the figures are pretty nice, not to mention the pilot. The chin strap and visor are superb. Too bad his helmet looks like Wedge's. It looks like we'll get Bren Derlin for a leader and two troopers. I'm not to sure about the arm and leg colors on the trooper though.
November 20, 200915 yr Are the BPs supposed to be canon? The only canon vehicles i saw for BPs were the BARC speeder and STAP.
November 20, 200915 yr Are the BPs supposed to be canon? The only canon vehicles i saw for BPs were the BARC speeder and STAP. Funny you should mention that. The vehicles are both canon this time. The snowspeeder was never in the movie, but it was seen, and the Rebel vehicle is the Laser Ice Cutter:
November 20, 200915 yr Funny you should mention that. The vehicles are both canon this time. The snowspeeder was never in the movie, but it was seen, and the Rebel vehicle is the Laser Ice Cutter: Your response confuses me. Anyways I'm really liking both battlepacks however I do agree with JCC that the trench looks like crap. The minifigures are gold but that trench Has anyone noticed that the rocket droid commander has the yellow markings that the original droid commanders had? In arguement that the ARC is clone wars not ROTS, The Tri-Droid has rocket droids which are not in ROTS. THis is to say that arguing the ARC is ROTS because they made tri-droid fighter, which represents part of the battle of Courascant, is mute.
November 20, 200915 yr I don't think the vehical in the Rebel BP is that Ice cutter Legolas To me it looks alittle like it but it isn't it, if you now what I mean. Btw what does everyone mean by 'cannon' sorry I just don't understand. Thanks CommanderFox Edited November 20, 200915 yr by CommanderFox
November 20, 200915 yr Btw what does everyone mean by 'cannon' sorry I just don't understand. Thanks CommanderFox actually, it's 'canon' it means, canâ‹…on : a standard; criterion hope this helps, and is correct
November 20, 200915 yr Actually, Legolas is right. Here's a picture of the "ice cutter" from a documentary about The Empire Strikes Back: Almost identical to the set, isn't it?
November 20, 200915 yr actually, it's 'canon' it means, hope this helps, and is correct Oh right My bad..... Thanks Maybe your right Tinn-man CommanderFox
November 20, 200915 yr The new battle packs look OK! Don't get me wrong I will be buying multiples of each so that I can build up the troops on both side and get a hold of the new minifigs in each. Can't wait to see the rest of 2010!
