AoNZ Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Im really likeing the 2010 wave more and more, but my wallet shrinks every time i find a new set i want. But the sudden change in box are is quite akward. And plus why isn't this frontpaged? I think it may be because they have the confidential sign on them but I'm not really sure. Quote
The Who Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Wampa Cave. I love it. That Wampa looks pretty good.Plo's Fighter. Also good, don't plan on getting it though. Grievous's Fighter. Ship looks too similar to the not-so-old one, but I'll buy it for those figs. Palpatine's Shuttle. Meh, could be better, like if it was entirely tiled. Need that skin-showing Vader though. Slave I Boba Fett, Han, Bossk, and a white box representing solo. Nice. Looks like I no longer need my custom Fett shoulder pad. I also see Fett is looking to his right with the helmet, which means it is seperate from the pack, and that's a bley antennae (spelling?) on his helmet, plus new blaster rifles. Clone Turbo Tank. Wasting enough money as it is, might as well get this one too. Mainly for Aayla and Cad Bane though, especially his new (?) hat. EDIT: Slave I link didn't work. Fixed it. Quoting myself so these links are on a closer page.Ok, first of all, I said I don't want to be spending $200 for LEGO not the set. Read carefully. If you don't want to spend money on Lego sets, why are you here? It certainly isn't free, and people usually spend money on things they like. I think it may be because they have the confidential sign on them but I'm not really sure. That's right. Quote

I mean't that I can't help myself from buying these but I don't want to be spending alot of money because LEGO overprices their sets alot. Although I can't resist. I wish I could buy all of 'em. RileyC Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Thanks The Who for putting the link up again for us (I bookmarked them for safe keeping)! The more I look at the pictures the more I want them. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Awesome, especially the Clone Turbo Tank, Slave 1 and Grievous's fighter, Soulless One (see a connection?). For me, Palpatine's shuttle is too much like the 2009 start-of-year flagship, Republic Assault Shuttle. Roncanater, I SAVED them. Oh, beat that! Joking, just had to do that actually! The Rancor Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 FBTB posted the prices for the January/February sets including TRU prices:*SNIP* Judging by TLG's usual pricing strategies, that would mean (not all confirmed): * 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter – 396 pcs – £50-£55 * 8085 Freeco Speeder – 177 pcs – £20 * 8087 TIE Defender – 304 pcs – £40 (confirmed by first UK review by Cardinal Brick) * 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack – £10 * 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack – £10 * 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter – 268 pcs – £20 * *8092 Luke’s Landspeeder – 163 pcs – £20 * *8091 Republic Swamp Speeder – 176 pcs – £25-£30 Looks like quite a nice cheap line up (for my SW wallet anyway ). I'll have to buy the two battlepacks for the awesome new hat moulds for the rebels and extra snowtroopers, plus an ATAT pilot. I've also got to say that I love the new pic of the Wampa cave - although the snowspeeder is inappropriate I must have that Wampa! Quote

Those prices sound dead on, unfortunately I don't think the Swamp Speeder will be over £20 - it doesn't look like it has enough pieces to be so. The price will never deter me though, I must have Barriss and that cool speeder, I missed out on the first. I'm glad a Snowspeeder was included in Wampa Cave - I don't have one, and now I have a chance to get one, even bundled wth a Wampa I think my wallet will be healthy next January, because I only intend to buy the battlepacks, Freeco speeder and Swamp Speeder. I already own the original Landspeeder, ARC-170 Fighter and Droid Tri-Fighter, so that was an easy decision for me to make. As for summer, my wallet will totally sploom. The Wampa Cave and Palpatine's Shuttle are definite buys for me, the rest I'm unsure of. Plo Koon's fighter doesn't interest me, I own Plo Koon and have Ahsoka's starfighter, which is too similar. I own the 2006 Slave 1, but I might buy the new one just for the new Boba and Bossk. I also own the original CTT, but Cad Bane and Aayla Secura have to be part of my collection. Quote

Swash Buckler Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Its a pity there is none of the red troopers with the Emperors shuttle. Yeah- like i said before it should have had two coruscant guard clones and at least one Red Guard- but no- it do have a doctor droid- similar to 2-1b Those prices sound dead on, unfortunately I don't think the Swamp Speeder will be over £20 - it doesn't look like it has enough pieces to be so. Penitent Tangent Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Judging by TLG's usual pricing strategies, that would mean (not all confirmed): * 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter – 396 pcs – £50-£55 * 8085 Freeco Speeder – 177 pcs – £20 * 8087 TIE Defender – 304 pcs – £40 (confirmed by first UK review by Cardinal Brick) * 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack – £10 * 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack – £10 * 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter – 268 pcs – £20 * *8092 Luke’s Landspeeder – 163 pcs – £20 * *8091 Republic Swamp Speeder – 176 pcs – £25-£30 Looks like quite a nice cheap line up (for my SW wallet anyway ). I've pointed this out in the past, but I guess some of you guys missed it. But the UK sets are all up on DVD.co.uk for release on the 25th of January. ARC-170 Starfighter– £50 Freeco Speeder – not listed, most probably £20 though TIE Defender – £40 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack – £10 Snowtrooper Battle Pack – £10 Droid Tri-Fighter – £25 Luke’s Landspeeder – £25 Won't know about the Swamp Speeder until later, but £25-30 sounds about right unfortunately. The Landspeeder is overpriced as it is, but it at least comes with a good selection of pretty rare minifigs. (Tattooine Luke, Ben and C-3P0). The Swamp speeders only appeal is Barris Offee, but she's likely to be pretty sought after because of her recent role in the Clone Wars, and since it's a limited edition set, I could see it easily going for £30. lightningtiger Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I was looking through Brickshelf and found this, Question is - Is it the real set or is it a scratch build (note no Jedi) ? The postings said 8091MOD - we all not having seen this set except for one picture and one box art can not tell what MOD and whats not ? What do you all think ? Oh, here's the link to the rest of the pictures. 8091MOD on Brickshelf from agi2007 Quote
Led ZePPelin Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) It's a MOC based on the real thing. Some of the colours and parts are wrong. Edited December 16, 2009 by Led ZePPelin Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 No one knows, just it will be an exclusive, but yeah no one wants TRU to get the exclusives, here is hoping LA makes TLG dump TRU exclusives. What d'you mean, "no one wants TRU to get the exclusives"? Toys 'R' Us is the only place, bar Tesco (which gets rubbish exclusives once in a blue moon), that I can get exclusive sets. I want TRU to get all the exclusives. None of this Target stuff. Quote

I do agree with you. Any exclusives to Target , Walmart, etc. are a lot harder to find in the states. (at least for me) Though TRU's prices are higher at least I don't have to got to 5 different stores and finally having to make a Shop@Home order. If the other stores would stock them like TRU does it wouldn't be a problem. Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 On the Turbo Tank, they haven't even made the mold yet so whether or not her 'head-tails' will be a hair piece or one of those backpack attachments to the neck. I think I spy Commander Bly as well! For Grievous, the new mold looks excellant on first impressions, so that should turn out well; but for the rest I'm not too sure. Quote
commdr_neyo Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Yes that is a moc, but it is a very good one. I've been trying to make the Swamp Speeder, but not with very much succes on the back I thought maybe he works for TLC, and has seen more of the set than we did, so he can build an accurate version. Just a quess. Quote
