why is bossk in sand green color, he would look more accurate in tan or dark tan.. i know most trandoshans are in that color but not bossk..

His skin color varies depending on the source, in the movie, he's brown/tan, but every other picture of him is green.

I'm pretty sure they made one of those as a give away for a contest a while back, but I'm not entirely sure.

Nope, never... I'm not even sure what you're thinking of. They made other Geonosis sets though, not the arena.

That Geonosian Arena wasn't given away. I remember that it was featured in one of the issues of the lego magazine a few years back though.

Thats what I was talking about, I thought they did give it away though. Oh well, I'd still love to see an Arena set, with lots of jedi and the creatures, and a bunch of genosians to.

Lot's of complaints about the new , more detailed figs. I personally welcome them. I've been hoping for a Boba Fett upgrade to at least separate his helmet from his backpack. So when the clone troopers with jetpacks appeared in the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid set (7748), i kinda expected a new Boba wasn't too far away. Glad I was right, and my only gripe is that his arms and legs aren't printed. Can't have everything, I guess. And the new CW styled Grevous is much, much better than the original Grevous fig. At least you can tell who he is at a glance. I don't care for how the second set of arms are attached, however...kind of a copout design-wise.

Given the success of TLG's SW lines, I would expect no less than more attention be put into the both the sets and the figs. The figs have become collectors' items in their own right, and LEGO is aware of that, so I certainly won't fault them for trying to make them better.

Stop talking about sets you want in here!

It is not the right thread for that at all. There is one for that. It has been linked in this thread over a million times.

If anyone would be smart to count the times it has been linked, you will win a week in the chamber.

-Stay on target everyone-

On the prelim box he's brown/tan, just not on the stand. :sadnew:

I would have liked Boosk slightly more if he was dark-tan as well. But I don´t care because I am just so glad to have him at all.

There has also been the issue of seeing prelims that isn´t one hundred percent done yet. Were box art and the figure we see is

not the same as Aayla for instance. But I would guess by now that the one we have seen now is the last version an the one we will get.

Grievous only looks weird because he's in his 4 armed attack mode - but without lightsaber. By default he'll just have 2 arms and then he'll look fine

I agree with you, he looks quite better with it's normal arms... I wonder if Lego will upgrade the standard batlle droids model following Grievous release... I mean separated legs, new arms orientations and so...

Overall, I'm pleased by most of the sets...

The Wampa set seems pretty cool, a cheaper way to get Snowspeeders (don't yell at me please, I was in my Dark Age when the previous models came out (excepted for the 7666 Rebel Base). So for me, it's overall a good set.

The Clone Turbo Tank looks really improved since the last version. The wheels looks quite good to me, I just feel that the belly of the beast definitely lacks armor, compared to the movie/TV serie model... A quite expensive set, but the Ayla/Bane duo rocks, and I still hope we'll see a tactical droid in the final version...

Palpatine's shuttle. I don't like the model... Not at all. But I didn't liked the Republic Attack shuttle either, so it might be an allergy . The new shuttle pilot and the medical droid are great, but I don't think it'll be enough for me to push me to buy it... Good Old Bricklink, my friend...

Plo Koon's starfighter. Another one I'll pass on... The model is beautiful, the minifigs and price are pretty good, but the simple fact that it'll most probably come with a large dreaded sticker sheet ruin the whole set IMO...

Slave One : bleeding-nose overpriced, but who can resist a new Boba Fett, a new Carbonite Han, and a new alien like Bossk ??? I just hope that this flick-fire-machine-gun will work as well as the previous 6209 set cannon... Otherwise, I like the dark green color scheme, the rest of the set is almost 90% the same as the previous version...

Grievous starfighter : I like it a lot. The model looks pretty cool, especially the cockpit. The minifigs are really good too. I'm always happy when we have a new Jedi, and it was quite time to give Grievous a new body... It's neck is a bit long IMO, otherwise, I like it... The droid is... good, but I somehow have the feeling that it's not the final version... Don't know why, it's just the feeling I have seeing it...

I doubly agree as well. Of course I wish the 4 arms were more playable, but then again I'm not sure how they could have done it any different. It is an improvement over the old fig, who could only hold them straight up.

Can someone conclude from the pics whether Han has to be put in the carbonite block from above or from below?

Except the ships you mentioned Klaus-Dieter there is a slight chance of a MF as well for next year.

I am very excited what we will get for next year based on what Kim said.

What does TLC have up their sleeve for next year?

You're right, Ras 74, I totally forgot the MF.

TLG released the last version in regular size in 2004 - so it's really time to get a new one. If TLG releases a new one I hope that it'll come this time with General Calrissian and Nien Numb.

And there could and should even be a re-design of Jabba's Sail Barge and the Sandcrawler (since I regrettably missed the them the first time). But very supposably not in the same year as the MF.

Besides I think that we'll see some smaller sets, too. A new regular TIE Fighter is imo overdue, too.

And hopefully we'll get the medical room of Echo Base with injured Luke, the tank in which he swims, a medical droid and Major Bren Darlin - then the Echo Base would (with all Hoth sets from 2007 to 2010) be nearly complete.

Mos Eisley (Cantina) and/or Obi Wan's home and/or Owen's farm is imo unrealistic to get in 2011 since we got the Landspeeder this year.

Klaus-Dieter

So I'm sitting in target having lunch, I came here for Luke's landspeeder but of course its out of stock. So instead of driving to Walmart to check for it, I go to their website to check stock. That worked fine, but their site says batteries are required. Noe I am almost positive of the answer but I have to ask.

Is there an alternative version with something that requires batteries. Believe me I feel foolish for even asking.

The set comes with a power functions Garindan who squeaks into a walkie-talkie.

Only joking! No batteries required. What a strange thing for the Walmart website to say!

Dont underestimate the power of the dark (web)site. :vader:

Of course there's no batteries needed for the landspeeder, there wouldnt even be room to put them in, and why? What functions would it provide? ... but still funny :sweet:

@Klaus Dieter; I think it's from below. In the pictures it shows handgrips for Han to hold while underneath.

Can someone conclude from the pics whether Han has to be put in the carbonite block from above or from below?

This pic should answer your question:

I also expected a more accurate carbonite block, in which Han would be totally integrated, and not only fixed to with his hands.

This carbonite block doesn't have anything to do with Lego as we know it, nor do Grievous or Boba. It somehow makes me feel old and sad, when I see that the toy we love is turning into Hasbro. :cry_sad:

Maybe his skin changes colour, depending on the lighting? :sweet:

Though I doubt that..

CommanderFox

Cool, but his hands are still green, thats weird.

I don't know which color I prefer, the sand green looks good, although it's not correct, tan looks good aswell, maybe dark tan should suit the figure better like mr Ras 74 sugests.

The boxes are the same old boxes that we saw in September, that's n older image! The Bossk out of the box is definitely the more finished one.

Regardless, greivous is much improved, thank god!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind that creepy little fig so much if it weren't for his head. The torso is admittedly and improvement, the arms are the same, the legs are better, but his head looks like a big ugly cartoon! It's possibly the worst minifig I've ever come across.

Unfortunately for me, that fig is definitely final.

Agreed. The head for Grievous is far too cartoony, check out the eyes (the old one only had indents). The plastic head shape is an improvement, but the paintjob sure isn't. And the body is far too complicated for a minifig, yes it's more detailed than the previous version but 2 separate colour schemes, what looks like a bendable knee and he will be barely be able to interact with existing Lego sets is a big no for me.

I don't see why people hate Boba so much. He's extremly LEGO-ish. It's nothing new compared to the clones, why are you all so upset?

Two new keychains have been found: Leia and Wicket

*snip*

WOW! :cry_happy:

That wicket key chain does look nice..

Thanks for posting this Oky!

perhaps this has already been seen/posted elsewhere, but starwarsshop.com has a couple of new T-shirts available for pre-order.
