Ras 74 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 It sure is great to finally see some pics! I just think and is pretty certain that all those are prelims. There are to many things not fitting to good here. Cockpit of the Grievious Fighter is one for sure. I guess we pretty soon will get more official pictures that will be better and more accurate for sure. Quote
Alldarker Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Looks like another expensive wave of Star Wars sets: it's interesting to see the small sets (Battlepacks, Freeco, Landspeeder) will all released in the January wave, while all the large sets will be in the summer wave. Looks like I'm gonna have to clear even more shelf space... And that while I haven't even gotten around to building the Tantive IV... Looking at the OT sets, with the battlepacks and Wampa Cave, the Battle of Hoth seems to be pretty fleshed out. I wonder if these sets will finally be the last we will see of Hoth? I guess one more AT-AT re-release wouldn't go amiss, but they could always save that for a RotJ version. I also wonder if a September S@H exclusive will be another Cloud City release: it seems only logical with the ESB theme for this year and the new Slave I. Regarding the PT/CW sets, I don't often buy these sets, but Palpatine's Shuttle looks pretty good, as does the CTT. Quote
RileyC Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) Ok. But UCS sets don't interest me. So there might be another exclusive non-UCS set for the OT, don't you think? Possible a second version of Cloud City? Klaus-Dieter If there is a second cloud city then that will just ruin my wishlist! Edited December 15, 2009 by Roncanator Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 It's called Prelim pics. Thank you. I just meant that, it's understandable that Aayla is unfinished, she's using an entirely new mold. But it's not like we've never had blue lightsabers though, so I'm guessing whoever put the set together just didn't know, and the detail will be corrected for the final version. Was only meant as an observation. If there is a second cluod city then that will just ruin my wishlist! Tell me about it. I've decided I probably won't buy the Slave 1.. but if we end up getting a Cloud City (which I'd love!) I think the two would go together too well for me not to get it as well. But for now, I think we have enough sets to worry about. Quote
Swash Buckler Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) I there any chance it is a turret of some sort? The CTT is Clone Wars Hope it does'nt change. i find it's really dumb that Ahsoka and Anakin are both in the CTT - i have Ahsoka from her fighter (that actually was pretty cool set) and most do have Anakin from his fighter- so there should have been more clones (arf-troopers?Rex?Cody?) instead I beg to differ, the HAV/w A6 aka CTT is too box like, and the wheels are uber lame, way to thin, and where is the rapid repeating heavy laser torrent, and its so bland looks more like the A6 used during the jedi purge rather than CW.http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Juggernaut_ICS.jpg Wheels look great to me - they are the hardest part to customize- so that set could save my Christmas 2010 Thank you. I do have two old classic boba's and possibly Bossk will appear in another set since he will appear soon in the Clone Wars too (btw isn't 2011 still sw-legoyear- or do this is the last one!? ) and i must say that old classic (yet 2-d) carbonite solo looks way better than the new one even if new one is molded- still i may buy that set since i probably cannot get the imperial flagship only 2010 non-star wars set that would be awesome those brown slope pieces will be nice custom shiphull for piratemocs as well- but i have no need for Wampa attack it haves only wampa that i cannot customize (lukes costume is actually from new bp and i do have parts for good custom snowspeeder- i have lots of boneparts as well ) It is so good that New Grievous set have an calamari head as well- i was so depressed when i didn't have possibility (or money) to get the Ackbar's Home One set this year. Mraz Skintas Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Now time for my two cents on these beautiful sets. Hoth Wampa Cave: I'm glad they added the Snowspeeder, because without it, the set would just follow up with the overall blandness of the recent Hoth set. It's a good thing that there is a Pilot in the BP, because there's an empty seat. ( I think I mentioned something about empty seats in sets earlier....) I hope the Wampa is prelim, because it doesn't look like any of the limbs are mobile or detachable, and that would suck.... Plo Koon's Starfigher: Probably my favorite of the easily affordable sets, because I simply love the sleek design of the Delta-7 B. I will probably get at least two of these, so I can MOD one into the Azure Angel. I'm glad we are getting a new Astromech, but hope to God that the one there is prelim, because the three colors don't match well together. General Grievous' Starfighter: Other than the cockpit, an improvement from the last. I can tell the Grievous is taller, and of tan color. Nadahr Vebb is a great addition, and so it the little worker droid. Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle: A pretty decent looking set. The figs are great, especially the new new Clone pilot, with the larger enclosed helmet that matches the ones I believe were used at the beginning of the Empire. The Medical Droid though, is probably what sells this ship for me. Slave I: There is no better way to celebrate ESB's anniversary than with this ship. The colors and sleekeness are amazing, and Bossk. Finally, we get a Trandoshan figure so I can stop using Castle Orc heads. The only thing that could make this set better is a Bespin Guard, or two. Clone Turbo Tank: Clearly the best of the bunch. A set that finally has Aayla Secura in it. Cad Bane is a nice addition too, seeing as he is a pretty cool character. I fail to see the problem with Anakin and Ahsoka being in the set, but oh well. I would have to see a side shot of the AT-RT before I judge it, but it looks only OK from what I can see. -'Skintas Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 It should be very clear why Grevious's Starfighter has a different cockpit, he's bigger. The older set you had to fold his arms and legs in to sit him in his starfighter. This set could either be CW or ROTS we'll just have to wait and see. Quote
Strand Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Hoth Wampa Cave: A bit disappointed. The Wampa doesn't look particularly good and the inclusion of a Snowspeeder? We've already had quite a few and it's only going to jack up the price of this set. Plo Koon's Starfigher: Pretty cool. But I thought that, being a ROTS set, it would have the Astromech Droid on the side, like Obi-Wan's fighter. Instead we get the Clone Wars version and thus, the Clone Wars Jedi Starfighter mould which I had major problems with, with both Anakin's and Ahsoka's fighter. The original AOTC mould is superior imo. And while the blue/white pattern is a paintjob, this looks a bit messy. General Grievous' Starfighter: I'm baffled as to why they thought this was needed, when the original is still fresh on my minds (and probably still on some store shelves). The ship looks a bit ugly imo with a strange cockpit choice but I would love another Mon Cal head. Grievous himself looks like a better minifig than the original. Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle: Interesting build. I do like the cockpit piece, but overall, the ship looks a bit bland and far more 'light' than I imagined. I thought it would be a lot darker. Looks more like a rebuilt Assault Shuttle than anything. Slave I: Looks pretty good. I thought the previous version was perfect but this one is even better, with (corret me if wrong) entirely new pieces at the 'shoulder' of the swivel of the stabilisers. Makes you wonder why they didn't use these pieces earlier. Overall, the colour scheme is a bit 'cartoony' than the last version. New Boba and Bossk look great though. Clone Turbo Tank: It has Aayla Secura, so it's a guaranteed purchase (didn't pick up the last version). Bit disappointed that her head-tails are actually a 'hat' piece and are a different colour from her skin. New mini AT-RT is cute and overall better than the last version. I'd have preferred them remove Anakin and Ahsoka (who are in every set really) and give us a couple more clones or droids. Quote
DarthSion Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 What is a CW set, thats Fisto's padawan Na'darr who died in the CW so can't be RotS, and if you look he is on a table like Vaders transformation, so its obvious its also got his medical droid who also died in CW. Quote

I guess we pretty soon will get more official pictures that will be better and more accurate for sure. And again I agree with you o wise one. These are preliminaries, so things can change (for the better) Examples: the Wampa, General Grievous' cockpit, smoothness and colour scheme of Palpatines shuttle, Aayla Secura's hair, maybe even removing Anakin and Ahsoka from the CTT. I'd have preferred them remove Anakin and Ahsoka (who are in every set really) and give us a couple more clones or droids. Once again.. PRELIMS! A lot of your complaints about the Wampa and starfighter, etc can most likely be ignored simply due to the fact these sets are not final, but this Aayla Secura complaint has been mentioned several times, when it's blindingly obvious she's a very early prototype. I'm also not sure why there's so many complaints about Anakin and Ahsoka.. Yeah, I'm sure most of us already have them, but a lot of kids buying these sets won't, so including the two main characters from the show is going to draw a lot of people to the set. I've never seen complaints about Luke or Han being included in sets.. It should be very clear why Grevious's Starfighter has a different cockpit, he's bigger. The older set you had to fold his arms and legs in to sit him in his starfighter. This set could either be CW or ROTS we'll just have to wait and see. Scion already pointed this out, but yeah, it's obviously a CW set due to the inclusion of Nahdar Vebb. Quote
DarthSion Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Damn I wish they had a star wars spell check. I am not surprised about Nahdar, as they had the mon calamari hanger this year. And yeah people do remember they are prelim and the mini figures may look different. As for Anakin and Ashoka, they are main characters and also there with the A6 when it was shown in the CW episode, would be silly not to have them, although not as silly as having Cad Bane in this set, was he even in that episode. I think the thing I am looking forward to the most from CW is Cad Bane, from the OT the skeleton, all we need is Indian Jones. BTW was that supposed to be me you were talking about Penitent Tangent. Zzz Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I am sure that the Slave I will be very nice. Not judging by the picture but from the last one, and that was almost perfect. Just too bad we don't seem to get the rumored minifigs, Leia would have been nice. Vote me also in for some Cloud City guy. Or just give us a new CLoud City, TLC. Yeah , you can do that. I really hope that they just took the Snowspeeder from the Echo Base set for the prelim pic, and they give us a new design. That one was horrible, worse than 4500 and just boring. They can do better. Add a 50 pieces to the parts count and you can do some nice detailed thing that actually looks a bit like the real one. Anything CW looks nice so far, especially the tank. Azure Angel, wonderful tricky with the stripes, shuttle looks damn good. Hope for some landing gear and boarding ramp. Nice, very. Still looking forward to hear any more rumours about the AT-AT. Would be happy with the number of pieces already. Quote

Yes most likly right, geez, these Lego builders don't even know what coloured lightsaber each jedi has. Lego should fire them and get some real fans. Yes agreed, as it is, all these new sets are going to be hard enough to pay for. CommanderFox Quote
Lego Lassie Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I will probably get all of these sets especially Wampa Cave, Plo Koon's fighter, Palpatine's Shuttle and Swamp Speeder. I already have the others but really want those minifigures they come with! Even though I got the Wookiee Catamaran and thus the swamp speeder that came with that, I really like this re-design and love the Barriss figure. She's my daughter's favorite Jedi right now so she's ecstatic and with the Luminara from the earlier set I can have Master and Padawan together. I really want Palpatine's shuttle because I seem to have a thing for shuttles of all types (probably because I never got Imperial Inspection and I'm trying to fill that void in my heart ). I usually don't enjoy remakes but it sure helps those who missed out the first time. My son is thrilled for General Grievous's starfighter and my daughter really wants that snowspeeder since they couldn't get them earlier. Quote

I Wonder if the snow speeder is the same as hoth rebel base. Don't like the wampa. Hope its just prelimiary pictures only. Don't worry at all. The wampa's a placeholder. Can't you tell? I'd be sort of happy and sad at the same time if they changed the snowspeeder though. If they re-used it, I would have matching speeders, but if they change it, it will be 100X more accurate. starstreak Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Did I miss anything, or did some of the new sets come out? Did someone say TRU got them? Like the Tie Defender or something? Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Yes, you are right 'Penitent Tangent' just double checked the photo again, cool it's CW - on my list now for sure !!!! By the way where's the four armed general's blaster - he kills Vebb with a blaster not with his lightsaber collection. Quote
Cloney Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I haven't checked Eurobricks yesterday and as soon as I saw about 10 extra pages, I knew the new pics had come out! YEEEESS! I better start reading. Quote
Mission Commander Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Hey Guys just looking around till I found this picture "Click the link" http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/ima...9/Picture_1.png ...I would have uploaded it but I ran out of space...what do you guys think of having Cad Bane in the Set? None of those links work. The CTT looks great! I really like this one. The red on the slave 1 looks kinda out of place. Quote
prateek Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The new GG and Boba Fett look really cool, but I'm not liking the new cockpit on GG's Starfighter. Quote
BlueDragonZ Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Grievous starfighter looks almost the same as the previous one. Only thing that is really different are more minifigures and a new grievous? But that box size means we're gonna have to pay a bit more than the last version. Quote
RocketClone Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Im really likeing the 2010 wave more and more, but my wallet shrinks every time i find a new set i want. But the sudden change in box are is quite akward. And plus why isn't this frontpaged? Quote
The Legonater Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 But that box size means we're gonna have to pay a bit more than the last version. The box says nothing right now, we won't know how big it is untill the 2010 toy fair. Quote
