The Legonater Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Grievances aside... Please tell me that wasn't a pun. Quote
Legoman Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I was hoping I was wrong, but I share the same feelings. The summer wave looks amazing, and they post pics early just to tease us. The winter sets are not a complete flunk, but they are a HUGE disappointment. Out of luck, leftover money, and eavesdropping family members, I was able to scrape together all of the winter lineup over Christmas. I was not satisfied. I think I will spend the most money this year on Atlantis. Grievances aside, does anyone think that because we got the pictures so early, the Summer sets might be released even earlier than normal? Nah, they're usually round by now. But do expect them earlier than the official release date. Thats usually a regular occourance. At least if you're happy to pay your local TRU markup I must say, 2010 doesn't look an amazing year for me. All I want is 1 new non-CW set that aint a remake. Can that be so hard? Ah well, they have some nice designs. Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Please tell me that wasn't a pun. Well, with everyone's input, I think the battlepacks, Freeco and Droid Tri-Fighter are fine, but the TIE Defender could be the saddest set ever, in terms of piece/price ratio and some design flaws. The ARC is a beautiful set, but once again, overpriced. All we can do is wait for summer! And still no pics or other info on the AT-AT? Quote
Destroydacre Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Why would it be RoTS?It's listed as Clone Wars on S@H and TLG should know as they design the sets in cooperation with George Lucas. Plus is it really that important wether a set is Clone Wars or not? Can't we just be happy about them as Star Wars? Or isn't that "nerdy" enough? I agree it really doesn't make a difference how Lego chooses to classify their sets. For people who do care though, I have noticed that the astromech droid printing for CW sets differs from the droids in the movie sets. R4-P44 has a printing style that matches those found on the OT and PT sets for what it's worth. Edited December 28, 2009 by Destroydacre Quote
Mission Commander Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Can we please stop talking about which theme the sets are in at S@H? "Stay on target!" I agree the defender is . So are the prices. Edited December 28, 2009 by Mission Commander Quote

There a Gerivous fig coming out soon. So I thoguh with dread that it was a pun. Quote

Jar Jar Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I wonder what Palpy's Shuttle will look like, but isn't it weird how they make Palpatine gray? Anakin seems to be a good minifig. Finally! A medical droid! Getting this set with the ARC is a good way to have 3 ARC Pilots...and well, having Kit Fisto as the pilot for Palpy's Shuttle, lol. Quote
Forresto Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 One thing I noticed about this year is the amount of sets that are redos. The Arc 170 The Landspeeder The Swamp Speeder Jedi Starfighter CTT Slave 1 Grievous's starfighter The snowspeeder in the wampa set Tri-Droid fighter Palpatine's shuttle is simlar to a mixture between an imperial shuttle and a Republic Attack Shuttle These are'nt criticisms but observations. If'm correct then this would make 2010 the record for amount of redo sets. Quote
Aho Midarezaki Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Considering getting the new Slave I, Landspeeder, and Grievous' Starfighter since I got all the originals. As for the new Droid Tri-Fighter, I saw it the other day? Is there really a difference between this and the one released in '05? Because I didn't see any... =\ Quote

Plus the increadably un-movie realistic buzz droid is replaced by three rocket droids. Quote
JCC1004 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) For those of you who have forgotten about the Mostly Bricks Landspeeder, they posted the review here! Edited December 29, 2009 by JCC1004 Quote

Is there really a difference between this and the one released in '05? Because I didn't see any... =\ Why would you want the new ones if you have the originals? Rephrase that! (I'm getting some too, just to compare). And the new Droid Tri-Fighter is very different- more sturdy, new pieces, and it's incredibly detailed. And they replaced the buzz droid with rocket droids. For those of you who have forgotten about the Mostly Bricks Landspeeder, they posted the review here! 111Yes, but it's not too detailed... Oh, well, it certainly gives us a good enough reality of the set- great figs, and look at that detailed back!!! And someone had to say this- the 210th page, for 2010! Quote
the lead general Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 So we'd all get the new Grievous, but then not play with him? I know what you meant. How did you guess? The old ones's better. The Turbo Tank looks great. Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 How did you guess? The old ones's better. The Turbo Tank looks great. I REALLY hope that they change the cockpit, the wing structure and... everything else. EXCEPT the minifigs!!! They're perfect! And any naysayers about the Turbo Tank are either CW haters or annoyed about the rise in price. Yes, it does come with Anakin and Ahsoka, but compared with all the other 's, it's looking to be a great set. Quote
pedro Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 This SET, I have tried to make one. it reference some "8091"imagethis~ Nice one! Looks really cool. Very much looking forward to purchasing the the set, and getting my hands on the lovely Barriss Offee! I wouldn't say they are a disappointment id say they are vastly overpriced... And sadly due an increase for us in the UK as the tax returns to it's normal value. And after - it appeared to me - that S@H raised its prices to counter the temporary drop. Boo. One thing I noticed about this year is the amount of sets that are redos... These are'nt criticisms but observations. If'm correct then this would make 2010 the record for amount of redo sets. Aye this is a point I've been raising too. I understand it's a great opportunity for many to get their hands on vehicles they've missed, but for collectors like myself it kind of feels like there's nothing really new on offer except for some cosmetic changes and a few great minifigs. Worth buying the whole set? The jury is still out on that for me at the moment... Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Palpy's shuttle looks great...but I'm not sure why I think that it's the attack shuttle again - look at anakin's medical bed, it's pretty much the lightsaber holder from that shuttle. The attack shuttle was nice enough (being a new set, not a re-do) but now it in turn is being redone I'd love an actual interior worthy of the name people have said about palpy being grey? Surely that's right - he was Kentucky fried at that point in the film Quote
Mission Commander Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) For those of you who have forgotten about the Mostly Bricks Landspeeder, they posted the review here! Thanks JCC1004! I'm glad Luke doesn't have that stupid smile. This set looks like a must buy for me. Edited December 29, 2009 by Mission Commander Quote
Zapper Brick Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 People have said about palpy being grey? Surely that's right - he was Kentucky fried at that point in the film Nope, he should have the same face printing as Death Star Palpy, but in flesh tone. (See Revenge of the Sith) Quote
Darth Legolas Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Nope, he should have the same face printing as Death Star Palpy, but in flesh tone. (See Revenge of the Sith) No, he was already hideously disfigured at this point. He should be the same fig as Death Star Palpy. He lost his flesh tone during his fight with Mace Windu. That was more than a half hour before the fight between Vader and Obi Wan. The ship Lego's made is pretty accurate. Quote

Darth Legolas Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Where did you find pictures of Palpy's Shuttle ? Cant seem to find them anywhere Why does everyone keep saying that? The Theta Shuttle pictures were in the first batch of all of the summer pics we've seen. They're everywhere! Here's a link: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/langille/2010/new_2010.jpg Quote
Jar Jar Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Moved to another subject, we have. Hmm? I am not very happy that Palpy's Shuttle has no shock troopers. Does anyone no how many ROTS sets we have so far? Edited December 29, 2009 by Jar Jar Quote
