RileyC Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) I like that they included a snowspeeder because I think just the cave would have been a bit bare. I dont mind that they added Zev in there because I love his helmet and there is nothing wrong with getting him again. It is possible, I guess, that Lego may do a co-pack type thing with Echo Base and the Wampa cave. It would be a good way to keep sales up for the eho base while the hoth BP's are on the shelves. Or they may even do a full hoth pack with both BPs, echo base, and the wampa cave - mabye even the AT-AT? Thats a great idea Legoman! like the superpack from last year? BlueDragonZ Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I may be the only one who thinks this, but I'm somewhat disapointed with how the Wampa Attack was executed. I'm not disapointed that Zev Senesca was included as the Snowspeeder Pilot, but rather with the fact that the Snowspeeder was included at all. It adds about $20 to the price, and it's inclusion doesn't a fit in with the "Wampa Attack" theme. I would have preferred that the Snowspeeder be put in a new set, along with a turret and marketed at a $24.99 price point, allowing the Wampa cave to be a different set, with a Taun-Taun, and to be marketed at the same $24.99 price point.Does anyone agree with me, or am I alone here? I think the snowspeeder should be excluded. A bigger cave would probably be better than adding another snowspeeder. Quote
midiscale33 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I don't understand what all the arguing about the snowspeeder is for, we all know it is going to come with a snowspeeder an there's nothing we can do about it. Quote

I partially agree, but if they were just going to release him in the Wampa Cave set, then I would have preferred that the pilot in the BP was just a generic pilot and not Zev. It's not horrible, but I really don't understand Lego's thought process behind that decision. Quote

Eterneo Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) I've seen a prelim picture of the General Grievous Starfighter, and it seems that we'll be getting a new mold (or atleast a colored one) for General Grievous. The inclusion of a named character (Zev) in the battle pack seems weird to me too, although it could just be that by now the Star Wars EU has named almost every rebel pilot on Hoth, and this left Lego with no other choice. More likely is that they just included Zev in the BP because he was going to be in the Wampa set, and by using this guy twice they do save a bit of money in production I guess. Clone OPatra Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Pictures, links, anything or I don't believe you. We've all seen a pic of the prelim Grevious Starfighter, remember? Interesting to note, though, in the link you provided Eterneo, whoever is listing the set information says that the General Grevious figure is damaged and has his faceplate off. I personally don't believe that, but it is an interesting to call. His head does look strange-ish, but that's the way his mask looks. Anybody else got thoughts? Quote

I'm hoping that the starfighter will include both a damaged and a repaired version of General Grievous. I think there's a possibility for this since the set seems to include the "operation" table and the medical droid, and Lego did this before, with the Anakin/Darth Vader set. Quote

I personally think that wouldn't be good, as I'm hoping for a new Grievous as long as it's not damaged. Maybe some damage marks would be ok but his faceplate off? No thanks. Though if it could be attached to the head and detached for the damaged look, then it would be fine to me, but I prefer to have a non-damaged one. ~ General Magma Quote

That would be the best! Oh, and thanks for the link to the site, Eterneo. I haven't seen the pics for quite some time. Quote

Indeed, the set may come with duel faces for Greivous as he did need a faceplate transplant or something. Quote
Lt. Veers Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I'm having mixed feelings about Greivous' Fighter. The front looks okay, but the cockpit looks way too big, and the new canopy is boxy and ugly. The new Greivous looks nice, but the Medical Droid seems bulkier than it should be. And what's up with that missile? It looks just plain wierd. Nadar Vebb is a nice touch, but I fear it will give Lego an excuse to increase the price. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 In the Palpatine's Shuttle set, is the Clone Pilot like the new ones (open-faced helmet) or the older design? I think it may be a new version of the old Clone Pilot from the image, but personally, I hope it is, because I don't like the new Clone Pilots. Quote

It's most likely the same as the kind from the ARC-170, as Lego is probably including it so that fans can have a third clone pilot that they can put in their ARC-170 to replace Kit Fisto. Quote
Ratshot Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I noticed that the Canadian prices weren't included in the master list, here they are... Luke's Land Speeder- $34.99 Freeco Speeder- $34.99 TIE Defender- $69.99 Republic Swamp Speeder-$39.99 ARC -170 Starfighter-$79.99 Droid Tri-Fighter-$34.99 Rebel Battle Pack-$14.99 Snow Trooper Battle Pack-$14.99 Quote

The Legonater Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 <br />Mmm I think the snowspeeder with Zev Senesca do fit in with this set. It was he who discovered Han and Luke, and Han has already been included in the Echo Base set. So the Wampa Attack and Echo Base set combined actually make great sense, and somehow complete the whole scenario, they're just not released in the same wave.<br /><br /><br /><br />I already suggested that a while ago. RileyC Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Is it just me or do grievous's lightsabers behind the operation table look like two different shades of blue I dont think so. Its probably just an impurity from zooming into a picture that small. If you look at his minifig picture in the bottom left hand corner they are the same and it would be stupid of lego to start varying the colours now because we have had them the same for 10 years. sok117 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Does anyone think It's possible for Luke in the Hoth Wampa Cave to come with a double sided head, one normal and one with scars to show where he got hit by the wampa? Quote

No, I'm looking at the full picture right here, no zooming, there are definitely two shades of blue, original and the common light blue. I think it may just be a placeholder fluke though, like the butt-ugly disgraceful (pain-bringing) cockpit piece. But honestly, is there anyone inside Lego who can give me a sign of hope they'll change that ugly hideous mass of trans-dark clear plastic? EDIT: Does anyone think It's possible for Luke in the Hoth Wampa Cave to come with a double sided head, one normal and one with scars to show where he got hit by the wampa? Yes.
